Chapter 583 - 582 - Celestial Qi Price
Chapter 583 - 582 - Celestial Qi Price
Lind's meridians were on fire. His organs were damaged and his dantian was just barely stable. He had done a very foolish thing but he had no choice.
He had tested and proven he could handle demonic Qi for a short time. He could Forge, make elixirs, or even engrave with demonic Qi. It strained his dantian and meridians but not in a way that was beyond any issue he could fix.
The worst he ever suffered was having to take over a month off of cultivation to purify his body entirely of demonic Qi. It was simply that his body could not withstand the savage nature of demonic Qi for very long.
He had only once tried to use Celestial Qi since he understood it was some variation of Fiend Qi but not vile at all. The single time he had used it had nearly burst the meridians in his hand.
Unlike demonic Qi, which could be found naturally in the environment, Celestial Qi had to be converted from his own Qi. He had yet to find a natural source of Fiend or Celestial Qi, but he had been stunned at how devastated his hand had been after the experiment.
His blood vessels had burst and his meridians nearly shattered. If he had not been reinforced by his dragon soul, he would have had to rebuild his hand entirely and at that time he was only a tier 4 Sky Realm.
He had no chance of doing that even with his elixirs. Limb regenerations became much harder the farther along a cultivator was in their journey. The Immortal Realm supposedly resolved that issue but he was far from that.
He had concluded the profound quality of Celestial Qi far exceeded the mortal realms. He now knew it far exceeded Heaven Realm.
Compared to his hand, he was technically better than before but only in regards to his cultivation organs. His body was just as devastated and his vitality was trying to repair the ravages to his body.
"Lord Frey, please drink." Sheena was clearly heavily injured but was helping him consume a Restoration Elixir. It was mid grade 6 but it was more than enough. The Qi flowed over his body but it could only do a little for his meridians and dantain.
The sparkling Celestial Qi was still in there from when he used it. He tried to purge it but pain spiked instantly unlike demonic Qi. Demonic Qi was like a more savage refinement of natural Qi but Celestial Qi felt like his elements were the Earth compared to the Sun.
He had as much chance of simply removing them as a planet could to move a sun. He would only get incinerated by trying.
More blood was coughed up which made Sheena panic but he waved her off.
"I am ok, I just can't recover my Qi at the moment without risking my body further. Get me to the castle for now and leave me in the healing ward." They had pulled all their heavily injured people far from the walls.
Lind now fell into that category. He hoped fervently that the mega attack could not be used again anytime soon.
It had to be a huge price to use it and using it twice likely had to do with his first defiance of it. They could not stand someone having such power being free of their rule.
It forced him to use the only Qi he found that could fight against the restrictions of the Law Binding. He had discovered that neither his Qi nor demonic Qi could affect the Law Binding at all but the trick to removing the brands was initially found by his experiments with Celestial Qi.
His artifacts had revealed the brand could be affected and he had gone from there.
Further experiments had revealed the effective use Celestial Qi had against weaving effects! Lind had been stunned and knew if it worked on his 6th circle weaving, he knew it could fight off the Soulmancers.
He had not expected the effect he had seen but it was a pleasant experience.
When forced into a corner, he had relied on directly controlling the Celestial Qi to mimic the Fiend teleportation arrays that tore directly into the void. It would send the beam somewhere harmless and save them but he paid the severe price of his current condition.
What sort of being could possibly withstand such powerful Qi?
Fiend Qi was vile but felt far weaker than Celestial Qi to Lind's senses. Still, he had never ever tried to use Fiend Qi directly either. Only a thrall had been examined by him over the centuries and it ravaged them in a very different way.
The healing ward finally came into view. Gail was dressed in an apron and mask as she cleaned wounds before administering elixirs.
They had no alchemists and Lind had not had time to train much of anyone that might have had the gift of elixirs.
He had only been in the Heaven Realm for a little over a decade.
"Lord Frey!" Gail shouted but all eyes swiveled to him.
"I am better than I look. Get Sheena taken care of." Lind smirked to see the look of betrayal on Sheena's face but she would not have come if he did not abuse his condition. He was lying slightly but there was nothing Gail or the others could do.
No elixir would purge the dregs of Celestial Qi inside his body.
Sheena was carted off as Benny came up and guided Lind to a quiet corner to assume the lotus position. He smiled at her and she hugged him. She had grown a lot but the wild child was nowhere in sight at the moment.
Plumes of smoke and arcs of lightning rose in the sky but Lind felt the Qi from his sigils told him the back up wards were working. They would not hold forever but he saw 3 large shapes followed by smaller ones from the center of the city.
He was relieved that Glenda and Orbas had not been mortally injured.
He pushed it all aside as he closed his eyes and looked into his own problem. The world fell away as he used his senses to see that his moon now had several bright spots floating around it.
He was worried his moon had been damaged but was stunned to see his harmony was calmly pulsing unlike the rest of his body. His dantian shell was strained and his meridians were just barely not cracked.
His body was healing from the elixirs but he could only slowly ponder his dantian and meridians. He had grossly underestimated what Celestial Qi would do to his body.
Any brushing of the remaining Qi in his body spiked pain he knew would lead to broken organs and blood leaving him enmasse. He could not handle too much more of that.
He also could not afford to be out of commission until the war was over. The Soulmancer was a Sun Tier and his powers were far uglier than the woman that came before. She had not only underestimated him but gave him openings he could abuse.
This one did not.
The more souls at his command, the more terrifying his weavings would become. It was a shortcut but it was effective in something like battles.
Lind had to recover or conserve his strength but he had yet to find an elixir to help his soul recover like Qi and stamina.
"If moving does not work, can I use them?" Lind was unable to simply purge the Celestial Qi so he tried to fine an Art or something else that would allow him to safely remove the time bombs inside his dantian and meridians.
The longer they stayed, the more they would affect his cultivation.
He paled after several attempts but nothing worked safely with direct use so he tried his talents. Nothing even made them budge.
He gently tried to engrave as he had some experience using them there but his fingers nearly burst when he tried.
"Come on, there has to be something." He could not Forge where he was but he could try making elixirs.
He let his mind clear as he summoned some materials to make a few simple elixirs. He tried to extract the essence and was surprised when he felt no pain at all! The Qi did not move but it did hinder him either.
Why?! He focused as he realized spirit Qi was compatible with Celestial Qi! He had a method to make it work.
He let the Celestial Qi flow along his meridians as he carefully extracted the essence of the herbs, Qi stones, and beast cores. He let things flow as they needed but suddenly found an issue.
The Celestial Qi did not leave his body but stopped just shy of exiting. He felt frustrated but let his instincts examine the issue from several points of view. Normal essence work was not enough, but would Heaven grade steps work?
Unlike the other 2 professions, he had far more control with essence. He could start it and see if it worked before it became dangerous.
He took the step he had always done before and began to peel back the individual aspects of the grade 6 essence. It was from the silver veined ginseng. It was a rather common herb in the Heaven Realm but made for an excellent essence for healing elixirs.
It had the aspects of blood thickening, Qi cleansing, and body revitalization. It was far more potent than moral grade ginseng but the silver came from the color of the plant veins. It was the result of the Qi of earth growing stronger in the air and water balance.
Earth was the source of all plant life and contained vitality far above cultivators. The herb thrived where all 3 Qi came together and many newborns drew their first breath of aether beasts.
It was also the least potent essence so even if it slipped a bit, it would snap and spark but nothing else. He was stunned at what he saw.
The Celestial Qi slowly left his meridians and seemed to calm the imbalance he could never control and he finally understood what he was doing wrong!
The Heaven Qi quality already had the quality of Heaven in it. He did not have to force it but he did need to balance the aspects with the Qi from the world around him! No extra Qi was needed at all!
He was overloading it every time in all his professions! His mind entered a special state as he began to work with the other essence and broke them down. The aura washed over the entire healing ward to a strange effect.
All the elixirs began to shimmer and the cultivators felt their bodies healing faster than before! Gail turned and saw a sparkling globe of azure water glittering like a school of fish was inside it reflecting the sun but they were inside!
The profound aura compressed until 4 jade vials were filled with a clittering crimson elixir. Fetid air left Lind's now hale face as he smiled. His prismatic badge shimmered and turned shifting strands of each Qi color. They moved!
"I am going back, but use these as needed. I can make more." Lind stood up and all felt the change as the Qi seemed to dance around him as new sigils suddenly appeared of a very fine nature but felt far more powerful than before! The wards around them all shimmered and Gail felt far more secure suddenly.
A smile tugged at her mouth before he shot into the air out the door. Hope sprung in her heart once more and even the injured felt a pressure lift from their shoulders. Lind Frey had broken through some bottleneck and it meant hope was back!
