Chapter 568 - 567 - Succubus
Chapter 568 - 567 - Succubus
Glenda was barely alive.
She had been flying far above, assured in her superiority as a peak Moon Tier. Great Lord Frey had been very helpful in pushing her cultivation with his ideas and understanding. She was on the cusp of Sun Tier centuries before she expected to be!
Yet, it was all for nothing as her meridians were shattered and her core cracked. She only lived at the whim of the monster that found her.
She had been flying over the soldiers advancing when her wings suddenly shriveled under a terrifying power she had never encountered before.
"Such pretty feathers! I will take them!" A sensual voice made Glenda shiver in terror as she felt the peak Sun Tier aura suddenly appear near her. There had been no warning and she never saw any human fly before Lind Frey.
She tried to warn him but the mental shields slammed into place unlike anything she had ever felt.
"Ah, you are an ally. Your life is spared for now." Glenda was then slammed into the ground and brutalized by an impossibly beautiful human woman. Yet, Glenda felt only disgust looking at her.
Her instincts screamed at her to flee but she could no longer fly!
"Chain her but do no further harm." Soldiers with the gold of Karridan Empire obeyed but Glenda still scared them as her powerful bloodline was intact. Still, it did her no good as the black robed woman was clearly a powerful Soulmancer.
The woman paused then and looked at one of the soldiers moving towards her. Before anyone could react the young man was suddenly in her embrace. His robust muscles began to wither until his body fell lifelessly on the ground.
"So much better!" Glenda shivered as her near fate was clear. The small force moved on to the Two Rivers but before they got far the woman held up her hand and a wide smile of ecstasy covered her face.
"Ah, how cute, a peak 3rd circle touching on the 4th." Glenda shivered as she realized the woman could see Great Lord Frey's work! "Let's get a taste!"
Her hands glowed with sinister black Qi that touched the shimmering illusion. The sigils tried to resist but were ants to the woman.
A flush came to her face that made all of them back off from her.
"So much Qi! I want this man!" Glenda frowned as she had no idea how the Soulmancer could know Lind's gender from his engravings.
Just as the soldiers were about to advance, a figure appeared in the air.
His emerald eyes and black and emerald hair made his tan features look handsome but the woman seemed confused for the first time.
"How are you flying?" It was not the question all expected but Lind then vanished and appeared next to Glenda. The soldiers had no time to respond before the restraints shattered into powder.
Qi flowed into her so she realized the weaving on her was also gone!
"Interesting, how did you do that?" The woman was not displeased. If anything, she seemed happy.
"I don't suppose we can resolve this peacefully?" The mid Moon Tier aura made the soldiers blanche but the Soulmancer simply looked amused. Glenda wanted to warn her Great Lord but Lind waved it off.
"I suppose if you submit to me, I can care less about the rabble here. Without you, things will go back to the way they should be." Lind frowned in her sight but then sighed in a tired fashion.
"Glenda, protect the Two Rivers." His aura flared and emerald scales spread on his body. She realized how dangerous their foe was and nodded before vanishing from the crowd. She hoped her lord could prevail but would fulfill her duty!

Lind felt the wrongness of the Soulmancer in front of him. His instincts felt disgusted just being in her presence.
The filth he felt in his weavings was due to her but it was a small ripple compared to the vicious storm of looking at her. The various soldiers were mostly late tier Sky Realms so he was not too worried, yet the weapons were all grade 6!
That was a massive problem.
If they could even tap into a tenth of their power, the town would suffer greatly.
"I will say this once: Leave now, or die." Lind could not be weak. He knew they were afraid of the Soulmancer but his aura now matched hers. He hoped they would pull back but his hopes were dashed.
"Your families will be mine if you flee. Kill the exiles!" His illusion was shattered like paper by her ability and Lind's reptilian eyes narrowed as unlike the last one, she was a true weaver. Profound traces and sigils flared around her but they then enhanced her body.
The soldiers ran forward but then froze as they saw the massive wall in front of them. A town! There was a town in the middle of the Hinterlands?!
Even the disturbing woman froze and slowly turned back to him.
"What are you?" The question was actually honest and he did not pause to respond.
"ROOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRR!" Emerald flames and lighting blasted out like the wrath of God. Soldiers were incinerated which pained Lind but the others moved away and began to assault the wall.
He had worked with the formation masters and refiners to make a wall of terrifying power, yet it already started to crack!
The limit of their comprehension was clear as the soldiers' weapons began to display their worth.
The wall was at best mid grade 5. It was all they could do but his weavings flared to stop any further damage. Still, there were limits.
Lind could see the intensity of his engravings fading quickly so he had to act fast.
His claws and tail lashed out but a woman in black emerged from the pyre of emerald flames entirely unharmed!
Her face was flushed and Lind saw in shock as his harmony was consumed by her!
"What is this?! It feels wonderful!" A dark thought crossed Lind's mind. A Soulmancer used other souls for their weaving but in that depravity there was a deeper darkness.
It matched the legends from Earth. A succubus!
"You are an abomination!" Sigils blazed around Lind and his projected voice only made her smile wider.
"Ah, you say the sweetest things!" Lind felt a chill in his heart. She was not only a full tier above him but her weaving was Heaven grade 6!
He was not able to overpower her like the last one! He engraved quickly but she no longer simply stood still. She also used profound weavings against him!
His attempt to ensnare her was consumed and she tried to siphon his life force! His dragon soul seemed annoyed but not afraid. A confused look crossed her face before joy took over.
"You are strong! Yay!" Lind felt a shiver on his spine as his full 7 meter length moved on instinct. A scythe flashed where he had been!
She was flying!
He was stunned until he realized the Law Binding was restricting the flight ability of Heaven Realms, but not her!
"Ah, you can fly too. This will be annoying!" Lind moved his sinuous body but then narrowed his eyes at the wall.
The weavings broke! The weapons began to crack the wall once again! He had no time so he changed tactics
A massive sinuous dragon replaced his body and actually froze the army. The beasts in all directions roared and a dragon truly manifested. The woman actually shivered at the aura but seemed happy!
What was wrong with her?!
"Such a tasty meal! I love you!" Lind suddenly felt pain as his ephemeral form was being drained! He had made a terrible mistake! A soul power was the worst thing to use against a Soulmancer!
He tried to resist but she was far more powerful than him. His emerald eyes glowed as dragon flame flashed at her. Unlike his natural body, the flames were far more terrifying. She had no choice but to stop as she dodged and he dispersed his dragon soul.
Scars covered his moon unlike before which terrified him!
"You can't do that!" She seemed upset that he was just in his physical form once again. Lind realized he could not afford to help the bandits and could only hope they persevered.
Protean appeared in his claws and became a claymore. The woman narrowed her dark eyes but still seemed to enjoy his resistance.
He needed to do something but the Soulmancer was far more powerful than anything he had ever encountered. She was a true 6th circle weaver and her Sun Tier aura was overpowering him slowly but surely.
There had to be a way to win when he noticed something.
Her face developed a few wrinkles. The moment it happened, she became terrifying.
"NO!" She then dove towards Lind but his speed was his only advantage over her. She then snatched up a man he recognized as the man that first attacked him. Lind wanted to save him but he shriveled at a visible rate before dying!
She then regained her youth and Lind's eyes narrowed.
Vanity. She was vain!
Lind began to combine his weaving and elixirs once more which made the woman freeze as well as all the soldiers. Lifemancers were something all respected and feared. Before anyone could react, a vile cobalt elixir was produced that he splashed on her body.
The few soldiers that were hit found no issue but the Soulmancer's cold dark eyes widened in terror.
"You cannot avoid the price of your powers!" Lind roared once more as she became heavily wrinkled and a hump formed on her back. She was supremely ugly with warts and balding head! She saw what she had become in an instant and charged at Lind in rage.
Before he could dodge, her hand pierced his heart!
"You will give it back!" Lind fell into his mind and entered a very dark place. He had been there before. It was when he died the first time.
Lind slowly realized he was on the edge of life and death but he had no idea what to do until a twisted and broken girl appeared. She was missing an eye and was pustule filled skin but he recognized her.
The final battle was upon him. If he lost, he would be consumed, but if he won, he could save the bandits. The 2 floated in the darkness and waited to join the battle.
