Chapter 545 - 544 - Origins
Chapter 545 - 544 - Origins
Time was a fluid thing in the soul. What could be an instant inside was years outside or vice versa.
The Bridge of Souls was an experimental weaving but Lind was stunned at its functions. Once Ilyria and her mother connected, the burden on his Qi was greatly lifted. The weaving also seemed to become much more efficient or perhaps it was simply his perception.
Regardless, he was having an odd experience.
He was aware of what happened in the nexus they were meeting in while the outside world was also there. At times it seemed like he could see every drop of water frozen in the waterfall while at other times it became a solid wall of water falling so fast it could sever the world.
He truly had no idea how much time was passing but he saw the 4 figures arrive outside the waterfall. They could not seem to enter but he recognized 3 of them. He was unable to sense anything due to using the weaving but the deference the 3 Moon Tiers gave him spoke volumes.
A Sun Tier, how?
Artifacts existed to let Moon Tiers safely restrict their cultivation to descend temporarily, but for Sun Tiers, it would be like finding a single blade of grass in the plains from what he had heard.
The qualitative Qi changes were one thing in the Heaven realm but the quantitative changes were chasms apart. A single Moon Tier at the low end could wipe out Star Tiers with a thought! A peak Moon Tier would only need a breath!
Sun Tiers were far more terrifying as he well knew. The Fiend he faced was at the Sun Tier but it had been toying with them. If he had gone all out at the beginning, the Mortal Realm would have fallen then and there.
After an unknown amount of time, they flew up but clearly they were frustrated, yet Lind did nothing to speed up things.
The laughing, crying, and simply joys between mother and daughter were worth it all to him.
Finally, Divine Guardian looked tired. It was not simple sleep either.
"I am sorry, Ilyria, but my time is over. I never dreamed of being able to see you like this, but I am ever so glad!" She held her daughter close as both began to tear up.
"Momma, I am so happy but I don't want to let you go!" If the Divine Guardian was a firm grip, Ilyria's was grasping with all her strength. A small laugh and bonk on the head came from her mother.
"Nothing is forever, even cultivators will one day stop if they can't progress. I had far more time than I should already and it was repaid when I see you grown so much!" Lind suddenly felt a pang in his heart.
He had wanted children so much but had wondered if he could leave them behind if they could not keep up. He realized he had been foolish. One way or the other, there would be partings and he had to prepare for that.
The world was not kind.
The 2 held each other for a time but then they came before him. Ilyria took his hand once more and she held on tightly.
"You continue to surprise me. I am unsure what you did but know that it probably upset anyone in the Star Tier. They would not understand but weavings touch on the fundamental soul force we all use at that stage." Lind was shocked and now knew how the 4 had found him.
"Uncle, thank you." The soft voice was full of tears but Divine Guardian looked on warmly at them both.
"I am glad you have family still. And you, boy, have gone far beyond my dreams. When I am gone, the island will change and likely rise. It will be the last thing I do." Lind looked on and had a thought.
"I wish you well, but before you go." Lind thought back to a feeling he once had. He had no idea if it would work but both women jumped when a pristine golden light flared around Lind. It was not light Qi nor any variation.
Ilyria did not know what it was but Divine Guardian was shocked as karmic restitution suddenly flooded her body. She already had some but Lind freely gave his up!
Outside, all of Yinande suddenly lit up with the karmic light to the shock of all its residents! Only 2 demons were unsurprised as they had seen something similar once before.
"Lind seems to be up to something again." Viola sighed as Yor only nodded.
Before the 3 Moon Tiers and Sun Tier could dry again, an ephemeral spirit appeared. All felt the profound Qi flowing out of it but only those 4 knelt in fealty to a Divine beast. A Black Shelled Tortoise had been living on Yinande!
No wonder they could not penetrate that waterfall!
The spirit covered the whole island but then changed into a gorgeous woman made up of the karmic Qi. She smiled down and then raised her hands. Unlike many islands, Yinande only had a teleportation array so it swiftly began to rise!
All felt no danger as they began to understand that the reason their island had no resources was because it was not an island at all.
It had been a layer of earth made up to disguise a large beast!
The island left the shadows of its neighbors and rose to the maximum height. The density of QI skyrocketed and sunlight naturally flooded it!
The array was broken since the island moved but all realized not a single beast came flying out to obstruct them. As they looked up at the spirit, they saw something shocking. An emerald dragon was now flying next to her carrying a young girl.
She was waving hard and the spirit waved back before slowly dispersing. The warmth of her smile was recognized by many parents and they knew the little girl was her daughter. As the spirit dissipated the skies shook.
"ROOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!!!" Emerald flames shot skyward and the demons roared with it. The entire island bloomed with life and many wondered what treasures would one day be found within the island.
Still, no one dared suggest looking just yet.
The sinuous dragon floated down until it was in front of the 4 beings that did not belong in the world. It gently set the girl down and contracted until a 5 meter tall dragon man stood before them.
His emerald scales shone with bright luster under the now unblocked sunlight. He turned and bowed to the sky once more before returning to his human form.
"Junior greets senior. May I presume you are the Master of the Babylon Guild?" Lind saw the 3 Moon Tiers were in shock looking at him while the man in the black cloak began to shake and then let loose full throated laughter.
"Excellent! Any doubts I had about you are tossed to the wind forever! I thought you were playing some game with the greater powers but you were honoring one of the few survivors of the Calamity." Lind's eyes narrowed at that description but he did not ask questions.
Many cultivators were moving towards them.
"Ilyria, stay near me." She was looking up at the clouds but still heeded his words. She was crying still yet stayed silent.
"Ah, apologies. My condolences on your loss, Little Ilyria." The man bowed and the other 3 followed suit. "Am I correct that you gave up your karmic restitution for that to happen?"
Lind nodded as there was little need to deny it.
The man nodded again as the smile was apparent.
"Let us have better accommodations, if there are no objections." Lind turned to Ilyria who realized she was the focus of the group.
"Ah, um!" She hopped behind Lind and he smiled down at her.
"It is all right, do you need to stay and work it out or are you ready to leave for now?" Lind asked gently but Ilyria looked back up and around the island before slowly nodding her head.
"Momma is gone. I still feel her in here." She pointed at her heart and even the normally thick Hide had a soft look on his face.
"Very well, we are ready." Lind barely finished speaking when the world shifted. They then were in the blue sector of the Babylon Guild courtyard in Saisei City. Such precise control was even above what Divine Guardian could do.
She had teleported him before but it clearly strained her. The Sun Tier did not even seem to think much of it but then why could they not enter the waterfall?
"Come, let us relax and enjoy ourselves." Lind was about to follow when a favorite phrase of George when committing to an instant coding project.
"In Valen's name, can we be a bit open here?" The room became pindrop silent and Lind finally had all the confirmation he needed as the Sun Tier whipped his head back around like the crack of a whip had gone off.
"How do you know that name?!" Lind smirked before he conjured an illusion. It had taken him a few decades to be happy with it but a sphere of blue, green, and brown floated as wispy white encircled parts of it.
"I suspected for a long time, but someone from Earth really went all out. Are you the founder of the Babylon Guild?" The man pulled his hood back to reveal a head full of black and white hair smoothed back.
The wrinkles showed he was nearing the end of his days but his vitality still felt strong.
"No, my master, the Storyteller Immortal, would often share stories to inspire us. He was long dead when I was still a World Realm but his followers were inspired by the story of a multiracial alliance that had a separate force to help keep the peace." Lind nodded as he understood.
All 4 looked in wonder at the display before looking up at Lind in equal awe.
"I am reincarnated. I have the memories of my old life which include, among other things, the very story you revered so much to make a real organization." The 4 then bowed low to him.
"It seems we have much to discuss but business before pleasure. Still, I deeply wish to hear the story if you know it." Lind had to stifle a laugh. Even if he had not regained more memories as his mind improved, the show was a dear memory of his life that he shared with his friends when he had so little else hobby wise.
"Very well, business and then I will regale you with the story of a dream given form!" His words made the old man smile wide before they settled around the table.
