Chapter 532 - 531 - Poaching Headache

Chapter 532 - 531 - Poaching Headache

Lea felt her head throb as she looked at the ballooning requests that were flooding into them.  Her 2 companions were just as slack jawed as her about it!

What was going on?

They had watched the contest and indeed confirmed no malicious intent.  In fact, Lind Frey was quite generous even to those eliminated.

What none of the Advisory Council had anticipated was the elimination round sparking a poaching war!

Floating Isle powers wanted to pick up disciples from weaker ones and also snatch up lower world contestants as well!

The stunning number from the grade 3 elimination round was shockingly up to 20,000 jade slips and innumerable scrolls!

It was well over 4 to 5 times the number of participants!

While they knew there was a legitimate reason to have their guild keep the competition civil and prevent issues of greater powers trying to snatch up promising seeds without starting a war, but what in the cursed spirits was all of that?!

Just as they pushed themselves to their limits, more came in!

"Say, did anyone notice that not a single request came for Moebius Sect members?"  Lea froze as her companions brought up that point at almost the same time.

The 3 then quickly scanned all the requests and noticed 2 oddities.

Not only were there no requests for Moebius Sect members, but Moebius Sect did not even once make a request for any disciple either!

Since they were the host, it would not be totally impossible to believe no one would poach from them, but the reverse was virtually unheard of.

The host usually had some agreements in place to pick a few good seedlings so long as they were true masters of the production method.  Still, Moebius Sect was a little odd in that it specialized in the derivative professions that were not so easily nurtured in the mortal realms.

The fact Lind Frey had succeeded to do so spoke volumes for not only his teaching ability but the effects of 6 elementals.

"Something else I noted.  He was using an eye talent the whole competition."  Hide mentioned something as his normally flirty style was repressed.  Lea nodded but their final member waved it off.

"How else would people watch such a simple process?  The proctors had the same talent at various levels."  It was actually standard practice to employ such talent holders.  A minimum in the Heaven Realm was Sky Eyes or Sky Touch to be able to perceive the Qi manipulation during contests.

"Seniors, we brought the latest–"  Huo and Azylea came in but all 3 of them dead stared at the 2 aether children.

The temperature actually seemed to drop and caused the pair to shiver before Lea sighed before floating over the storage treasure.

"Exactly how long before we cut these off?"  Hide was long past being accommodating the idiocy of most of the requests.  It was simply trying to get the target to know the higher powers were interested for the most part.

Essentially, the vast majority of the requests were a waste of time at that moment.

Still, the honor of their guild was on the line so they could not simply ignore it all after their presence was revealed by Lind Frey to the public.  It made it much harder to foist the blame on their juniors!

"He planned this!"  Hide suddenly shouted as he saw yet more duplicate requests he had just officially rejected!  The man was burying them in busy work!

"He could hardly plan it but likely he expected the petty headache and passed it along to the experts.  If his sect tried to manage it, you both know how it would go."  Lea defended their current host and saw both her companions slowly nod.

There were those that had to deal with such issues that wondered if sect masters were actually children in disguise at times.  The prestigious and venerated image that might be known could be ripped to shreds when they wanted something badly enough.

They continued to work but as if the spirits of Heaven and Earth had heard their plea, no more requests came in.

The few serious requests were sifted out but just as they were about to head to the arena for the start of the main events, they felt a familiar presence outside their office door.

"Let me hit him, just once!"  Hide was frothing to vent, but both of his companions bonked him on the head.

"You are not a child, so stop acting like it."  Lea had been annoyed by the work but it hardly taxed her.  Moon Tiers could go for years without leaving seclusion so a single night of paperwork was hardly worth striking Lind Frey.

"I heard from Huo and Azylea that the participants have already gotten a sea of requests.  I knew it would be bad, but not that bad so soon."  His sincere smile and tired face surprised them.

"How long since you had a rest, Master Frey?"  Lea knew Sky Realms could go for a decade without sleep but that was predicated on cultivating.  If they did not cultivate, they could grow exhausted like any mortal.

"Rest?  Um, a few days before the contest and then we all started preparing for any issues that could crop up as well as final checks of the arena.  We did one more check all last night as well."  Lind answered as he looked upwards.  It was clear he had been part of the group checking the formations.

It was not a small thing and formations could take more than a day to fix if an issue was found.  Faster, if a group worked together.

All 3 felt guilty for complaining.  Compared to what they went through, the Moebius Sect would have strained their cultivation and their stamina in 1 night to make sure no issues arose for the main events.

"In any event, here."  Lind then summoned 3 elixirs.  They sparkled but were only peak Heaven grade 5.  While they would have some effect on Moon Tiers, it would be negligible.

Still, the gesture was clear.  A grade 6 elixir would not do much for them either at his level so that was a better gift.

Lea then narrowed her eyes as she noticed they were different colors.  The one that was demonic Qi was clearly for her but the other 2 seemed to have similar reactions to a single elixir each!

She held the jade vial but could figure out what it was for.

"They are not totally effective but the restrictions you are under makes cultivation nearly impossible from what I understand.  Those should help a bit."  Lea was wide eyed as Hide and Sasha instantly downed theirs!

She saw relief flood over them before their cultivation actually seemed to improve!

How was that possible?!

"Unlike other cultivators, Heaven Realms have all 6 elements.  While I have yet to truly understand primary versus secondary elemental balance, I assumed something like that would still be of use as it is to us."  Lind smiled and Lea finally understood.

The man was annoyed at their arrival but was appreciating their honest efforts to keep a troublesome issue off his back.

She popped the cork and was stunned at what she felt!  It was peak Heaven grade 5 but the Qi felt far more powerful!  She drank it quickly as the liquid made a beeline for her dantian.

The pale moon image in her dantain actually became more solid as all 6 elements sang in joy!  She was only a low Moon Tier but with just that elixir, she felt like the time to mid tier was much closer!

She was in a Mortal Realm but had increased her cultivation!  If any of the Heaven Realm powers knew of that, they would storm the world to take him away!  She glanced at her 2 companions but they both nodded at her in understanding.

Their master needed to know about this!

Lind then bowed before he turned to leave.  They made no move to stop him as he clearly needed to grab some rest.  According to what they knew, the main events would be narrated by the Starfire House woman while the specifics were handled by chosen proctor and masters to administer each competition.

Just like before, the grade 3 competitors would go first, and even the peak mortal grade experts would get started but are unlikely to finish on the current day.

"Let's get this wrapped up and get over to the arena."  Lea turned back and started setting up some appointments in the appropriate place but the empty jade vial stayed with her.

She had met several elixir masters in her time and while they made impressive items, not a single one could do what she just experienced.  She recalled what he said about not understanding the balance between primary and secondary elements but she knew without a shadow of a doubt it would not take him long!

She looked up and wondered what her master would decide regarding Lind Frey once he learned of such a skill.  The forces of Moebius Sect were already in the Heaven Realm but she no longer knew what they were up to and could only deal with her mission.

Barring any incident, Lind Frey might find his arrival more tumultuous than anyone ever imagined.
