Chapter 501 - 500 - Emerald Dragon
Chapter 501 - 500 - Emerald Dragon
It had been only a month since the battle at Ascension Mountain.
The Heaven Realm was accessible once more as Qi density increased slightly as the mountain returned to the continent.
The moment it did, black clouds had begun to blast Fiends into oblivion.
Lightning had danced across the continent and the world as any living Fiend was wiped from the realm. The Heavens rejoiced as Burn took up his role of Guardian of the continent.
Tide had already assumed her role over the oceans and Spark bonded to the mountain as well.
The grief inside all on the mountain was vented as they watched the Fiends die horribly no matter how they tried to hide.
Lind's body was lost and they had no closure. The mountain spirit was incredibly angry about that but had no way to vent it until that moment of her return.
Now that all 3 guardians returned to their roles, the realm was for cultivators once more. Some villages were thrilled but most were afraid that one tyrant had replaced the last one. Kiran and Mika stayed on the mountain as they finally felt ready to advance.
The others went out to free the rest of their kind as well as break the teleportation arrays with the dragons. The threat of the Fiends was far from gone but they could buy time to build their forces.
Just as they arrived at the central district, the Heavens began to rumble as all were cowed by the pressure. Even the Immortal Dragons felt a shiver of fear as the power they felt was far above them.
A tear into a bottomless black void opened before a body was sent out gently. It was then carried down by lightning but unlike any other display of power, it was as if the lightning guarded the body in its clutches.
The 3 dragons became excited as the scent on the air was very familiar.
Laid on the ground they raced to reach the location before anyone else but the mountain spirit felt hope rise as the joy in her connection to Spark was clear as day.
It was but a single word.
ALIVE!
The 3 dragons came to the scorched circular ground to find a naked but living Lind Frey! His cultivation was intact and further, was at tier 8!
He had advanced!
Tears began to form as they were in human shape, even Burn could not avoid being misty eyed. Lind was alive! They roared in joy to the world and all felt it.
Spark collected him gently before launching back to the mountain as she could feel the anxious emotions from her.
Burn and Tide moved to destroy the teleportation arrays quickly to catch up!
Kiran and Mika looked stunned as Spark came burning in at top speed but the body in her arms made them tear up until they saw him breathe! His color was rosy and he was breathing!
The spirit flew and took the sleeping Lind from Spark as she wept openly and happily. Kiran and Mika were right there as the pair wept openly.
Lind slowly woke up and smiled at the snot and tear covered faces.
"Hi." His single greeting resulted in him being buried in hugs but he hardly complained. He recalled most of what happened to him in that strange place but a sudden thought occurred to him.
"How long?" His question was answered by a stunning woman off to the side wiping tears from her face.
"A month has passed since you saved us all." Lind got worried as he thought of something.
"Did you destroy the teleportation arrays?" Spark looked at him oddly before her eyes widened. She quickly reached out to her counterparts and learned they had destroyed most of them but one was impossible to hurt.
She told them Lind wanted them and likely why. Burn stayed to guard while Tide headed back to the mountain.
Lind relaxed as he suspected it was the exact array he needed.
Even if it was damaged, perhaps he could cobble together what he needed from the Fiend resource storage.
"Lily." Lind spoke a name but Spark and the rest looked confused at him. "You should name her Lily."
The mountain spirit gripped him harder and Spark smiled down at him.
"Lily sounds nice, what do you think, mother?" A nod came from the spirit and she seemed to be unwilling to let him go.
"How do you all feel?" Spark looked over as Tide arrived. Lind was stunned both were women but he was near certain they had been male wyverns.
"It is hard to describe. It is as if I have always been this way but I know it has only been a month." Tide spoke but Spark nodded as well.
"Was I mistaken about you all before?" Lind wondered if his ability to evaluate beasts was that far off but both suddenly blushed and would not look at him. A sinking feeling hit his stomach at that point.
"W-we chose to change but Burn stayed the same." Spark answered but Tide was fidgeting while being unable to look at him. Lind laid back and could only sigh tiredly.
"I already have a mate. I am sorry." Both looked sad but they knew he had a mate. They had hoped he would stay now that the danger was resolved.
Lind finally freed himself enough to realize he was naked! He blushed as he quickly summoned his last set of robes, his sect master robes. The emerald green robes had the Moebius strip on them as well as his badges.
He was about to ask a few more questions when he felt something was wrong above.
He looked up and saw a strange swirl of Qi unlike anything he had ever seen before. It pulled at him a bit but not too much. The 2 dragons looked up and frowned.
"They are trying to descend." No further words were needed but Lind smirked as an idea came to him.
"Could you get Burn up here. I have an idea that should scare the Hell out of them." Lind felt his cultivation had risen but he would need help for his plan to work.
As soon as Burn arrived, Lind noticed he seemed to have been crying as well but he made no comment as it would only invite the usual sarcasm.
"My harmony is effective but limited by my realm. Yet, with my dragon soul, the power can be enhanced. I need you to lend me your strength to increase my power accordingly. As long as we can do it." The 3 dragons knelt before him and he smirked as emerald scales covered his body and he began to grow in height.

Valkyrie was leading the charge in the current battle against the Fiends. The Crystal Lake was stained with crimson and black blood in equal measure. Something had distracted the Fiends in the last month but it barely put a dent in the battle.
All they noted was a few peak Sun Tiers had been suddenly missing compared to what the spies noted before.
Her once sublime form was now covered in wounds and blood both her own and comrades. The Heavenly Maiden Sect was one of the few powerhouses that could hold the line in the war.
The Fiends feared them a bit but death was impossible to avoid entirely.
"Sect Master, we have to pull back or we will be surrounded!" One of her commanders shouted and Valkyrie noticed she was missing an arm. Losing limbs was all too common and hard to recover quickly in the midst of battle.
She saw the dark tide of Fiends and their thralls trying to cut them off and knew they had lost Crystal Lake.
Another loss rankled her but she would not let her people die to keep her pride.
"Fall–" She was about to give an order when the world changed.
"ROOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!" A bestial roar that made all the air shake. Valkyrie suddenly felt a second wind fill her Sun Tier dantian as something happened far behind enemy lines.
Shouts became more evident as something was plowing through them like a hot knife through butter.
What could do that?
Suddenly, an aether beast appeared covered in emerald scales. It was a sinuous form that breathed fire on any Fiends it could find. Where that flame went, artifacts and weapons suddenly failed as well as mass death of their enemies.
Valkyrie, though, could only stare in shock as the danger to her sect was wiped out in a few moments before the reptilian eyes looked right at her.
The pressure from the emerald dragon was immense. It was an Immortal!
There were only a few dragons in the Heaven Realm and none could do what she had just seen.
"You look tired, Valkyrie. Fall back while my attack lasts and let my wives know, I am coming home." A very familiar voice suddenly boomed at them and several Maidens were stunned as well.
A blue skinned Moon Tier suddenly laughed as she had lost a lot of blood and both her hands.
"I am on it, my boy!" The dragon looked at the Maiden and Valkyrie could tell it frowned before it moved towards her.
"This will use up my strength, but I owe you so much more Tyr." The dragon then fell apart as emerald light fused with the Maiden and all were shocked as new hands suddenly regrew instantly.
"FALL BACK!" Valkyrie did not give the Fiends time but she had to admit she was both irritated and joyful. The man was still infuriating but it was hard to be angry at the man that just saved your life.
She then frowned as she recalled something. She looked at the now floundering Fiend army and wondered what he would do when he learned what happened in the two and half centuries he was gone. She shivered as she recalled his dark green eyes from that day.
She almost pitied his enemies when he returned.
