Chapter 485 - 484 - Progress
Chapter 485 - 484 - Progress
Lind had not been unhappy with the last 2 centuries.
He wanted to go home but that meant facing the Fiends. He was too weak so that was impossible. He could not make the mountain spirits dream come true but he was happy to entertain her and console her.
She was so happy to have a dragon on her again.
Kiran and Mika had stunned him.
Mika trailed his sister but he was a studious learner. He refused to give up on subjects despite how hard they were for him. When he returned to the Soul Realm, he had 3 elements instead of 2.
Air, water, and earth were powerful in him but he was a very inventive boy. The Arts Lind knew had been pushed farther than he expected just by Mika alone!
Still, Mika had returned only to the Iron Tier in 2 centuries. Compared to before, his foundation was far more profound and powerful but he was struggling at the next step. He seemed like he was looking for inspiration on his elemental combinations.
Kiran, in comparison, was a monster.
Her breakthrough to the Soul Realm had been shocking. She was now a 6 elemental!
She had all 6 elements with a silver harmony! He had only seen a handful of those in the lower realm.
They all became terrifying powerhouses and Kiran followed in their footsteps. She was a Diamond Tier near the peak!
Silver harmonies were offensive oriented mostly and Kiran followed suit. She could create lightning Arts that shattered stone easily a tier above her! She had weak defenses but she could control attacks to the effect of not touching her.
Lind noted she was good with earth based storms or gravity storms. Wyndam had made a whole series of storm Arts for 6 elementals. Some were fairly close to nature but silver harmonies could create nightmare variations.
Neither of them showed any inclination for professions but Lind still taught them the basics.
Mika could refine a little but Lind could only help him so far. Mika would have to find his own way after a certain point.
Kiran, on the other hand, could not create anything to save her life. Instead, she seemed especially gifted conjuring Qi in complex shapes and combinations. Unlike any cultivator he had taught, she did much better in manifesting Qi Arts.
While he could manifest his harmony to such an extent, Kiran could manifest all the elements effortlessly.
She could make them dance since she also had Soul Touch that progressed explosively to Heaven Touch far faster than he had done it!
She had such an incredible Talent that had been buried due to her weak cultivation before. It showed how much a solid technique could let a cultivator shine.
Lind, himself, had not been idle but advancing in the Sky Realm was much slower for various reasons. Despite the many things he carried on him, his storage ring was not bottomless.
The wyverns dove down to snatch aquatic beasts for food and water was easily created by the Sky Realm water wyvern. They had no names humans could pronounce but had taken some for the sake of Kiran and Mika.
The water and air wyvern took the name of Tide, the fire and light took Spark, and fire and earth was Burn. Mika had been the one to name them as he was in awe of their abilities.
Lind had gotten some materials for his Forging and elixir work but weaving only needed a few catalysts. He suspected his progress would require massive materials once he pushed into Heaven grade.
He had only touched on it but he was having a lot of ideas. Sadly, his store of materials was chewed up by improving the Nautilus.
As it was the key to travel in the current mortal realm, he took his experiences and insights from its maiden journey and battle to improve it starkly. Even Tide was stunned at Lind's ability but it helped push his Forging and weaving to the peak of their respective grades.
He was now a peak Heaven grade 5 Forger, but the bottleneck for grade 6 felt like a solid steel wall. Weaving was not as bad since he only reached mortal grade 5 and touched on Heaven grade.
His cultivation was much better. He had long reached the peak of tier 6 and felt he was closing in on becoming a true powerhouse.
In all that time, the wyverns had become used to the 3 guests. Lind, with his profound teachings, actually helped the aether beasts progress massively. Where once there were only 3 Sky Realms, now there were nearly a dozen tier 1 to tier 2 Sky Realms.
He also learned that the aquatic aether beasts that lived beneath the floating mountain were all peak tier 3 Sky Realms and their powers. While they were powerful, the restrictions of the world prevented them from flying.
Lind had only had that lift when he transformed. It seemed Heaven made it so dragons held the ultimate power. The small mountain spirit told him he could gain authority to grant flight to Sky Realms if he bonded with it.
It had looked so hopeful that he truly wished he could agree.
The mountain spirit was by his side constantly. She was giggling as he stumbled in his experiments or gently sleeping against him as he cultivated. She was so desperate to be close to a dragon that Lind sometimes transformed to let her see his scales.
She could sometimes be profound when throwing a tantrum which made Lind smile but her childish nature made it hard to remember she was the entire mountain.
"Heaven, I know you do not interfere unless truly serious, but such a small wish should be granted. If it is in my power, I will help." Lind spoke words he had mulled over for the last 2 centuries. He did not make the promise lightly and at times he felt Heaven trying to nudge him to agree to her request, but he made his stance clear.
He wanted to help but he would not be bound. A shift occurred in his soul and the pressure suddenly vanished he had not known was there. If his Dao heart had been weak, he would have complied long ago but he was firm.
He would forge his own place in the universe and not a place prepared for his current race. Lind saw a smile cross the cherubic face and knew Heaven had reassured the spirit.
"Master, Burn seems to be concerned about something." Lind looked up to find Mika standing at the entrance of his area. He had set up simple courtyards for each of them but the original quarters he left alone.
An instinct told him that crossing that threshold was accepting a responsibility he did not want.
"Very well, I have to go, little one." A frown marred the previously happy face but she woke up and smacked her mouth cutely before nodding. Lind saw Mika look nervously at her. He had once pushed the spirit too far when he forgot she was the whole mountain.
Her anger was not something to joke about at all but her spirit held back. Unlike the rest, she rejected all names from Mika and Kiran. She, in fact, often hinted she would accept a name from Lind but his instincts warned him not to,
He followed Mika out to the greater area of the cavern. Parked in the shadows was a larger version now of the Nautilus. He had expanded the original design and widened it out for more facilities and quarters.
The Nautilus was now a peak Heaven grade 5 ship. It was not an artifact but chock full of them to function. He made a lot of redundancies like planes and ships on Earth likely had. Still, he hoped to never need them all.
It would be a very bad day if he did.
Burn towered at the entrance but his dark slit eyes were indeed showing concern.
"Senior, how can I be of assistance?" Lind bowed but Burn only bowed as an equal. Their race memories informed them that production masters were due respect.
"The evil ones have been seen far away from the continent. They are setting up bases on any island and expanding their range. The juniors below have had a sudden influx of scared World and Soul Realms running from them." Lind's eyes narrowed.
"Did they understand what they are looking for?" Burn nodded but did not understand.
"It is you. The Sky Realms are not killed but caught and interrogated. Asked if they have seen a human that can turn into a dragon of emerald scales." Such a unique description could only be Lind. At least, it matched but he felt shocked.
No one aside from the villagers had seen his transformation. Even if they were found, once they could not find him, wouldn't the Fiend's assume he left the same way he arrived? Why would they suddenly look for him 2 centuries later?
Such an investment was odd.
"Was there anything else?" Burn started to shake his head but then paused. He seemed to consider for a moment before relating something.
"One of the Sky Realms was asked about a floating mountain. They stopped asking about us a long time ago. In fact it has been nearly a million years since they invaded and the mountain left long ago." Lind nodded but it was a mystery.
If it had been right after he escaped, then at least the intense search would make sense, but after such a long time, even Sky Realms would have moved on. Common sense would dictate he had either escaped or died since nothing showed up on the continent.
His eyes suddenly narrowed.
There was an exception. Fiends knew about him that tried to invade his mortal realm. They knew what he was capable of and might guess correctly that he would not make something simple like an artifact to escape.
Still, he had no idea how far he was nor how many mortal realms would have to be searched to stumble across him. What kind of odds was that?
Lind could not dismiss it but the only way to confirm it was to investigate.
"Senior Burn, is it possible to get a prisoner for me?" The wyvern's eyes narrowed and Mika gulped. Such a question left little room for doubt that they were being hunted once more only now it was the mountain too.
Burn slowly nodded and they began to plan.
