Chapter 478 - 477 - Power of Forging and Weaving
Chapter 478 - 477 - Power of Forging and Weaving
Lind did not spare anything from his ring.
The boats went from simple courier level items to peak Heaven grade 3. He was shocked at how easily it was due to weaving.
Forging alone was already impressive but combining the 2 together had stunning results.
He was able to achieve twice the result with half the effort!
It was a bit Qi intensive but not as much as he expected. Breaking through to the 2nd circle was immensely helpful.
His weaving was barely a third of its old cost to his soul.
The changes were far more clear when he was trying to push his limits within the restriction of his recovery.
Compared to when he set up the gathering and illusion weavings, putting 2 professions together had a startling result.
It made him have all sorts of ideas but repressed them for later.
The boats were only a dozen but could carry 5 each. He gave them the ability to expand a layer of Qi. It was efficient but with the villagers' strength it would take 3 of them compared to the one it should.
Many fled as soon as a boat was ready.
The boats could now carry almost 30 people at a time and they were running to the islands for the moment to make plans. Their world had collapsed but the danger was clear after Sebas' confession.
That only took care of close to half the population, yet before the last boat was modified, a handful returned. Lind felt glad to see not all sense had fled in as the reality set in.
Kiran and Mika were arguing with their mother about something but Lind could not spare any more time.
He had the land blur around him as he put Qi into his limbs to move faster. He had already put half a day into modifying the boats and assuring people how the new functions worked too almost to sunset.
The clearing came into view but compared to a year ago, it was now full of finely cut wood beams and several apparatus arranged for Forging.
He did not need to smelt any metals for what he planned to do but he did have to prepare the local materials to work with what he had in mind. The forest Sky Realms had allowed him to harvest slowly but now he was ready to truly begin.
He had planned to have more time to plan out what he was going to do but he bet he had at most a day to get it all done.
With what he just learned with the villager boats had given him a lot more confidence to pull off his desires in the time frame he had.
The beams had several piles of straight, curved, and fitted shapes. The first 2 piles took the least amount of time but the last pile had to be redone several times. He kept changing the layout for what he wanted to do.
He now had to commit to a reduced design but that would be fine.
He was about to start when he felt familiar presences outside his barrier. He turned to find Kiran, Mika, and their mother looking at the clearing but not panicking. He also saw a few more people not far behind them but much more timid.
"Why are you all here?" He projected his voice outside the formation which made some sprint away as he put his full power into it. Kiran and Mika did not budge. Time was of the essence so Lind did not elaborate as he turned back to his work.
He could hear them just fine if they wanted to speak.
Sigils began to blaze as Qi flowed into the boards. He had to start with endurance and creating joints for the frame. All 6 elements filled the clearing as the density had finally reached tier 6 inside it.
His soul power and essence hardly felt a strain but it would towards the end. What he was attempting was not something done before to his knowledge.
"I want to learn how to cultivate." Kiran's voice nearly made Lind lose his control but the boards began to float once more as the Forging apparatus took the completed boards to merge them.
Lind did not stop his work but thanks to the reduced strain, he could split focus long enough to send out some questions.
"You understood that your foundations are shallow? No amount of teaching can undo that. Your progress will be severely limited to the peak of the World Realm at best." He did not spare them or sugar coat it. The brutal truth was all they had left.
"I know! I still want to learn. I want to fight them and become powerful enough to stop them in the future!" Kiran was practically shouting but Mika was red eyed next to her nodding. The truth of how their father died and so many others was accepted quickly by them.
Lind sighed but had finally finished the supports and skeletal frame of his project.
Before proceeding, he had to Forge the connections between each piece and then layered sigils over the top of all of it. Compared to his original projections, he had over ¾ of his strength and Qi left easily.
Still, he found their resolve to be a bit more interesting. There was a way but it was very dangerous.
He summoned out grade 5 elemental crystals and Qi stones before he began to rework the remaining wood into the shapes he needed with his Forging artifacts assisting him.
"You should escape. If you follow me, you will be a target for monsters far more powerful than even me. I am intentionally going to draw their attention as well to save your comrades. Do you still want to cultivate under such lethal danger?" His cold voice projected outside the clearing.
Many of the ones that followed fled back to the beach. In fact, Kiran and Mika hugged their mother goodbye before the weeping woman left them behind.
The implication was clear.
She wanted her children to have a better life even at the risk of it.
Lind could no longer ignore them as he had but he let them wait outside a bit longer. The path ahead would be thorny at best. If they could not even wait in silence to prove their determination, how would they face battle?
He focused his full effort once more as he had to modify things slightly but not too much. The object began to take shape. The angles were well sloped to allow wind and storm to wash away from it but it was not the same as artifacts.
Artifacts, no matter how profound, needed input from a cultivator. Lind needed something more independent.
He finished setting the last crystals and connecting the channels laid out in alloys of each element.
He was one of the few that could create such an alloy but it was difficult even for him to strike the right balance. He had no time to test it and could only hope it worked long enough for him to repair it.
He finally dispersed the illusion layer of his barrier and saw the shocked looks on the 2 youths faces. Kiran recovered faster but Mika had his jaw dropped wide open in a comical fashion that tested even Lind.
Floating in the air as it collected Qi was a massive wooden ship. It was fully enclosed with the hull seamlessly closed on all sides save the 2 doors on either side currently swung open.
Along each side was a cluster of elemental crystals embedded into the hull. It was floating all on its own that even they, with their weaker abilities, could tell Lind was doing nothing to cause it!
It had a very large back end but it was a curved shape on all sides as air flowed easily along it. There were no sails but the position of some fixtures made it clear it could project something.
"There is a way, but it is very painful and very dangerous. This is your last chance before I start my final preparations to walk away." The kind man they had known was not speaking. It was a stern and powerful being that waited to judge them harshly based on their answers.
Mika shivered but he then firmed up and bowed low.
"I wish to grow stronger!" Lind nodded and turned to Kiran. She seemed to consider a few things before her dark eyes became resolved.
"I will grow stronger with or without you but I want the best start." Lind smiled at her and nodded in approval.
"Neither of you are wrong, but know that I will not be forgiving once we begin. Board the ship. I have to finish it but I set up quarters for each of you." Lind had found that combining weaving and Forging allowed leeway he normally did not enjoy once he started a project.
The sigils made the Qi absorption far more efficient as well as reinforcing the structure beyond what Forging alone could do. It made him wonder how formations and refining would work together but that was for the future.
A project that would have taken months had barely taken a day with the 2 professions working together.
Still, only the large strokes were done. Lind had a lot of minor and more delicate work to do and only a little under a day to complete it. He could only pray he finished most of it before then.
Qi began to flow out of him once more as more metals and crystals were laid out to start Forging anew.
