Chapter 473 - 472 - Immortal Enemies
Chapter 473 - 472 - Immortal Enemies
Lind had become complacent in battle. He had relied on his dragon soul more and more but he was once just a human. He felt so weak compared to before but he saw his wives steadfast by him and would not let them fall.
His dragon soul felt distant but his harmony was going strong within him.
If Heaven was absent, he would create a little corner of it right around him. He channeled his harmony through his body into the weaving and it spread out instantly. The lack of Qi clearly affected even those with his items.
Returning Qi seemed to invigorate them all and now the Fiend was heavily restricted as if he tried to touch Lind, Heaven would see him.
The anger on the impossibly handsome face was satisfying but a shock came to Lind as his dragon soul returned!
He had not asked for it but it had been put back. He realized Heaven was watching Divine beings a little too closely for his comfort but also still limited in its actions.
The Fiend was trying to defend the array but it was only one being restricted to the peak of Star Tier due to Lind in his actions! If the Fiend use powers beyond the realm, it would trigger Heaven regardless if he touched Lind or not!
"Go, help them." Lind told his warrior wives to go. Annabelle pecked him on the cheek before she began using her Qi to weave illusions to help defend their allies.
Shoti headed to the caskets while Fey and Cyntilla went to try and hurt the array.
Try was the operative word as it seemed impervious. After a time the Fiend stopped worrying but Lind narrowed his eyes. Clearly it was worried about something, so what was it.
He was fairly safe so started examining the dias.
The battle was now enjoined but while attacks were restricted, the Fiend's defense was far above them! They had to fear his actual body more than any Qi attack!
"You pitiful creatures! You think you can fight against the inevitable?!" Mortal realms lived in isolation from the war. They had no clue how badly their side was doing.
Powerful though both sides were, the Fiends took no prisoners. They fed on their prisoners so there was no one to rescue. Their numbers grew in strength and the cultivators shrunk slowly but surely.
If not for mortal realms, they would have lost long ago!
Their attacks were harmless to him but so long as Lind carved out that little piece of Heaven, he could not overpower them as easily as the first group!
How long could that measly tier 5 Sky Realm last?
Lind found no way to determine materials nor any obvious weak point but he knew enough about teleportation arrays to see that dias was not one of them.
It looked like old arrays had been replaced by new ones.
His Eyes could barely make it out from within his little sphere of emerald flames.
He was about to move onto the rest of the room when something caught his eye.
Sigils in the inner circle!
He quickly analyzed them and found some that were familiar. As he looked on, the 2nd ring in his Sky Core began to react. He has spent the better part of his last 40 years since he completed the First Circle to progress his weaving.
They had built a large foundation in the village over the millions of years the Divine Guardian watched over them and then Lind broke through. After that they were somewhat back to square one to advance.
Yet, with the wide and firm foundation, they advance by leaps and bounds into grade 5.
Lind was not satisfied.
He had gone back to the beginning to try and understand Heaven grade weaving.
It was incredibly difficult but he began to get a glimmer of it over the decade he had wandered Wild Heart Isle. Sigils were just the beginning.
There were Laws in the world that Heaven Realms had to grasp to advance later in their cultivation but no one said you could not start early.
The first steps of Laws were what led to Immortal Realm eventually. Lind felt that was correct but weaving touched on the laws of the world.
He could not totally explain how he knew that but flashing back to the image of Delenn's abode seemed to more and more seem like the case.
As Lind now looked at the sigils on the dias, it was as if the final piece of the puzzle fell into place. Weaving was very different from the other professions. It required touching on the Laws to grasp the 2nd circle!
Lind felt his mind widen and the emerald flames began to lower while a silvery ring began to form around him. Rather than Heaven weakening, it was strengthening! His vast foundation let him grasp so quickly what would normally take centuries for others!
The Fiend froze in shock as all turned to Lind to see the change in him. The silvery ring was growing stronger and more profound as they watched!
"How can he possibly grasp the Sigil Law?!" The Fiend screamed but dared not interfere. If he so much as brushed that ring, Heaven would shatter the void he had created and kill him.
"Get the people out of the caskets!" Fey shouted and the Star Tiers went to work. The 6 elementals broke the seals easily in pairs but the Fiend did not just stand there and let them do that.
He appeared among them like death and used pure physical strength to rip limbs from their bodies.
A whip suddenly wrapped around his legs and tripped him up! It had caught him off guard because he kept an eye on Lind Frey!
"GO!" Smoke sizzled from the boots the Fiend wore which shocked it more. A mere grade 5 item could hurt his clothes?!
No, Heaven grade 5?!
The others did not waste the chance and freed their comrades. They already looked a little withered and the Fiend was enraged.
"If you think I will let you escape, I would rather we all die together!" He ripped the whip apart but found it was only Qi!
The physical whip suddenly scratched his face as he dodged to the side. That woman was annoying!
The feeling of danger returned and the Fiend leapt into the air as a black broadsword nearly cleaved it in 2! Those weapons were true threats!
They were not simply powerful but fully bonded spirit weapons!
They touched on grade 6 power!
"Playtime is over!" The Fiend frowned as this would not do what they wished but it was better than nothing.
The array suddenly lit up and the room sealed itself off before anyone could leave.
"Knock it down!" Halcyon gave the order but their attacks did not even scratch it! Even Neera felt her spear cry that it could not get through!
"There is no leaving for any of you now. We are all going back to my home where you will fuel the next generation for millennia to come!" The Fiend was vindictive but then a hum filled the air.
All turned back to see a solid silver ring shrinking into Lind Frey!
How?! How was he progressing so quickly?!
Lind was in his own world as he understood it was far simpler than he made it. Reaching the 2nd Circle was becoming a Heaven Grade weaver by understanding the Sigil Law.
He only touched the surface of it but it was enough!
His Sky Core sang as the 2 rings became one before burning a silver one outside the bronze one. Now the silvery line surrounded his dantian completely.
He opened his eyes and looked at the dias once more. It was no longer a mystery to him as he saw the Qi flow but instead of the panic on other's faces, he only smiled.
"No one dies today." His words were soft but it seemed like they all heard him. Emerald flame exploded outward which made the Fiend's eye narrow.
"If you do that we will be dropped into the void itself! We will be worse than dead!" Lind acted as if he did not hear him and moved to the dias. The Fiend had no choice. It would rather face the wrath of Heaven with a slim chance than be in the void with none!
Before anyone could react, blood flew in the air as Lind's heart was pierced!
""LIND!""
All his wives called out but Lind only smiled warmly as he looked back at the Fiend.
"Got you!" Emerald scales spread across his body and trapped the Fiend! "You and I are leaving!" Lind then looked at his wives with sadness.
His arms moved quickly and the sigils were changed. The Fiend could not fight back because Heaven locked it in place. The damned boy had tricked him!
"I love you all forever!" Lind shouted as the Qi shifted back to the array. It could not be stopped but it could be changed. Lind had chosen that option! His wives raced forward but a barrier rose to stop them.
Fey was right there as they pounded on the wall with tears in their eyes. Lind was running out of strength but it no longer mattered. Everyone was safe as the Fiend started to scream.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! WHERE ARE WE GOING?!" Lind then smirked as he looked back at the creature.
"Back to Hell, or as you call it, the void!" Shouts rose as the array activated and space was ripped apart! A massive maw into nothing was revealed that sucked in all that was on the dias.
The last anyone in the room saw of Lind Frey was him smiling as he dragged a powerful enemy into the void before it snapped shut. The Void of Heaven was shattered as thunder rumbled above.
The Heavens were angry and punishment was coming!
Halcyon pulled the women out of the room as they all left. Solon was the last to go and saluted before the lightning began to strike the dias and all the caskets. Lind Frey had done the impossible once more!
He prayed to the spirits it was not the last time, no matter the odds.
