Chapter 442 - 441 - Interference
Chapter 442 - 441 - Interference
Lind was covered in blood not his own but the wails of the injured was all he could hear for what seemed like eternity.
His aura was enough to slow down the enemy but their power was not reduced at all! The formations eventually were exhausted with so many tier 6 and 7 Sky Realm aether beasts attacking.
Cyntilla, Shoti, and Lysanna were like storms on 2 legs as they battled in the sky. Cyntilla especially seemed to thrive in the war. Her 2 short swords made her seem like a fearsome beast none could escape!
Shoti danced with elemental whips shredding Light Ravens with water while darkness struck Fire Hawks. Her actual whip deflected most attacks at her.
Lysanna danced with a saber he had made for her. It was a low Heaven grade 5 so it was more than powerful enough even against tier 7 enemies. Death and pain was everywhere while Lind did all he could to shore up areas.
He was too weak!
Even with his draconic state, he could only take a single hit from a tier 5 and his scales were shattered! He could hardly wound them at all, but his creations were a different matter! His artifacts and weapons were deadly!
The problem was not many had ever fought so many Sky Realm beasts before. The Illusion Pythons and other beasts did their best to help but they were not as skilled with flight as the birds.
It was only when the Heavens rumbled that all paused. The most bitter enemies would set aside their attacks if the Heavens moved. Cultivators and aether beasts were only ants in front of Heaven and Earth.
A pale shaft of light pierced the sky and made a tear in space. Lind's Eyes were burning so he had to repress them. Only one thing could hurt his Heaven Eyes like that. Ascension. It was someone in the Moon Tier being forcibly sent up!
Who was it?
"ALL FIRE HAWKS! I AM ASCENDING! MY LAST ORDER IS TO AID LADY GUA!" Han's voice boomed with undeniable authority across the skies. The previously bitter Fire Hawks now cawed in joy!
Flames exploded as the Light Ravens suddenly found themselves betrayed! Lind nearly collapsed in confusion. The leader of the Fire Hawks betrayed his comrades? Why?
"Sect Master, look!" A disciple pointed to the same area and saw a violet spike of energy. It was a racial ability to use Qi and only one race matched that color. The leader of the Light Ravens was heading straight for them!
"Ethry, Lady Gua…" He could feel Ethry but she was exhausted. She had never felt that wiped out to him before. Still, she was alive.
That left Lady Gua, had something happened to her? If Lira had killed her, why would she charge at them? Consuming such a valuable corpse would take priority over all else.
Lind made himself stand but his Qi was exhausted and his elixirs were nearly depleted, saving all the lives he could.
Qing had the rest to heal even more in the center of the sect.
"Fall back, everyone fall back now!" Shoti was giving orders and the cultivators obeyed by the beasts were in a frenzy. Lind pushed his soul and all beasts turned toward him once more.
"Heed my wife's words. Fall back now!" Her relationship to him mattered to the beasts more than her cultivation. The beasts of Mengcong reluctantly pulled back but took some corpses with them.
He noted none of the Fire Hawks were left behind but they were gently carried. The living Fire Hawks landed on the remains of the outer wall.
Lind slammed his hand at a sigil nearby and Qi gathered at an alarming rate.
"Faster, come on, faster!" It felt like a snail's pace but just before the streak of violet light reached them, the sigil turned gold. Lind smiled. "Eat this!"
Emerald light flared but it was not from him! It was from his new artifact.
A massive cylinder shot up that was covered in sigils and formed a spear of Qi based off of Lind. He had been storing harmony energy inside it for months as a final resort but had not had the chance to test any of it.
The initial Qi needed to reach the power to harm a Star Tier took far too long but Lira had been far away. She was also too close to change directions.
The spear of emerald Qi was terrifying to all the beasts as it seemed to be a dragon's breath! The cylinder began to crack but the spear of Qi launched!
The target was true and a screech of disdain made all their ears bleed. The 2 met and the world went white. The silence was then followed by shockwaves that made all fall as the walls lit up in places.
Weavings were absorbing Qi and erecting barriers as quickly as possible but there were holes. Parts of the sect were leveled but they were thankfully all evacuated. The core areas were still protected by their forces and the formations were intact!
Still, those slowly broke as well and weavings took over until Lind finally had no choice.
His exhausted body leapt to stop the random shockwaves as best he could be weaving like mad. He had held off using his soul for an entire day so he could fall back on it. Still, without his Qi, he felt it chipping away at him badly as the world became dim.
He barely finished it when the final shockwave destroyed the outer walls and injured all anew but the power was greatly reduced by all the weavings. No one died, at least not right away, as Lind saw buildings collapse and the shockwave close in.
"Not today!" He used the last of his soul power to trigger the sigils as a profound grade 4 weaving appeared! He put his all into it and finally made one successfully. The moment of life and death had pushed him to go beyond!
The Qi wave broke like water against a shore. Cracks appeared but there was nothing else he could do. He was completely out of strength as the weaving fractured and finally collapsed.
The shockwave continued but much of its power had been lost. Lind felt his bones creak as he coughed up blood. He had nothing left.
A dark shadow suddenly appeared over him and Lind slowly looked up.
Lira had once been covered in fine glittering feathers and could be called a beauty in either form, but now over half of her body was exposed as blood fell from her in generous amounts.
One of her eyes was just gone and one of the wings was at an odd angle. She was using Qi to fly as the remaining eye stared at him with death in it.
"Not quite enough power, I will remember that." Lind did not know where his bravado came from. Perhaps he had faced death too many times and lived. Regardless, he felt the pressure build and knew Lira had Qi to spare!
Lind could not invoke Heaven again even if he wanted to. It was one thing against a heart devil, but unless he actually wanted to die, he could not do it again so soon even at peak condition.
Nothing was ever free, even for Divine bloodlines.
"DIE WORM!" Lind felt rage but he was helpless as wind and light gathered to slay him. The distance was nothing to a Sky Realm let alone a Star Tier.
He still did not look away as his end came. He heard screams but knew none could reach him in time.
At the final moment his ring reacted. It was silent all the decades since he acquired it but now it reacted.
[You are worthy.]
Words appeared in Lind's head but before he could process what they meant the world froze. The attack of Qi was beautiful before his eyes but Lind was not mesmerized by that.
He was mesmerized by the figure in front of him.
He seemed more real, more solid than the stone and sky around him. Even the Qi of the Star Tier was duller next to the man.
He had refined features and a slender body. He wore green robes but they were embroidered with scales! He had seen such a robe only once before!
"You are worthy." The dark skinned man smiled and Lind saw a dragon! He was a dragon but unlike any he had ever encountered in vision or spirit form! Even the dragon he had met in the Rakathi Wastes was nothing compared to this one!
"A glimpse of the future is all I can do, but you proved yourself to unlock the 1st layer. Good luck." Lind felt his body hum with power and all his exhaustion was wiped away but that was not all!
He looked at the attack of Lira and it seemed to be lacking. It was pathetic! A Star Tier was capable of so much more even in such a wounded state!
The world resumed the flow of time but Lind was no longer worried about death. His harmony flared as he swiftly transformed. Unlike before, however, he was now 5 meters tall!
His muscles had thickened and his aura was nothing like a Sky Realm!
"BEGONE!" A massive flame left his throat and smashed the attack as if it was paper. Lira was shocked and could not move in time! The flame engulfed her and she felt pain like only another Star Tier could inflict!
Lind felt his power dwindling at an alarming rate and understood that he had a temporary boost. He had to make it count!
The ground cracked as he launched himself into the air. Lira could barely follow his movement but then a harpoon made of webbing appeared! Lind smiled as he snatched it and added his momentum to it!
The spear pierced directly into Lira's core! Her cultivation was shattered!
She fell from the sky as she screamed! Lind leapt away and barely landed as exhaustion returned to his body. It was far worse than before!
"A glimpse of the future, huh?" He looked at the dark band but no answer came forth. The space inside had expanded immensely, however. It was not empty either but he had no time to examine it fully.
Lind smiled as he collapsed and never saw the webbing catch him. Lady Gua stared at him in dead seriousness unlike any other time before. The power Lind had put out was greater than any Star Tier!
Where had that come from?! What was going on?!
With the defeat of their leader, the Light Ravens were easily driven away or captured. Many died and became food for others. The results of the war had far reaching effects.
The Mengcong and the Singing Mountains were now under one leader! Further, many Star Tiers had observed the strange events during the war. Some made a note to never test the group while others became fearful.
Plans swirled and decisions were made that would change the entirety of the Wild Heart Isle one day. That was the future, while the Moebius Sect had to rebuild in the present. All of it was missed by the cultivation world as others hunted for Lind Frey and his sect, yet some neighboring islands now felt strange things.
One war ended but another could loom all too soon.
