Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 434 - 433 - The Mengcong

Chapter 434 - 433 - The Mengcong

Lind had met several cultivators far above him in his relatively short lift of 235 years.  Most of them were so far beyond him he could not sense their full power and thus had little reference until Master Delenn gave him some context.

Younger Twin was an Immortal Spirit, powerful but no greater than the first tier of Immortality.  Delenn, a tier 3 Immortal, was far stronger than it but only at that comparison did Lind have any clue how to gauge the feeling.

The Immortal Artificer fell in between but it was difficult to say by how much one way or the other even with those references.

Until recently, Lind believed Sky Realms progressed like the Soul Realm but he had learned the 9 tiers were grouped and had massive power differences.  A tier 4 Sky Realm could easily flatten 15 to 20 tier 3 Sky Realms and be in no danger.

Soul Realm could never pull off the same feat.

Since he had met the Divine Guardian, Lind had a context to put the feeling of pressure and power he could perceive from Lady Gua.  They were both Star Tiers, the maximum cultivation that could be achieved in the Floating Isles, but the feeling they gave varied wildly.

The Divine Guardian felt like the whole of the ocean was pressing on your body.  You had as much chance to affect it as the grains of sand on the beach.  Lady Gua, on the other hand, only rose to the level of a tidal wave.

To the people facing such things, they were still powerless but the tidal wave held a chance of survival whereas the full power of the ocean left none.

Lind had again and again appreciated his dumb luck and karmic restitution that had allowed him to survive conflicts with such powerful beings.

He straightened his robes and bowed to Lady Gua who examined him to within an inch of his life.  His wives and friends seemed well acquainted with her but only Little Fey was with him on their first meeting.

Her hair was as dark as her leathers which made him suspect the clothes were part of her transformation rather than refined items.

Aether beasts were different in that regard as was clear by Ethry.  Tal and Kora chose to have robes made but it was a preference.  No clothes refined by a tailor could compare to their own defenses.

"Well, you have finally come.  The audacious Master Frey.  You are shorter than I imagined."  A very refined and powerful voice came from Lady Gua.  Cyntilla's reaction was noted as her eyes had widened just a fraction.

Surprise was rare in her and Lind noted it.  The way the woman was speaking was not normal.

"I did not plan all that occurred.  I am unsure how much has been relayed."  Lind summoned a tea set as he saw none on hand and began to brew some.  The pleasant scent brought a smile to her very pale face as his wives quickly dispersed to the corners of the room or assisted Lady Gua.

Lind noted it was Shoti and Cyntilla attending her, an odd pair for such a duty but Annabelle was gripping a formation plate only he could perceive while Qing began to examine Little Fey.

Tal and Kora made an excuse to leave which spoke volumes to him.

All of it added up to a volatile and dangerous temperament, but that was the aether beast that allowed them to build their new sect.  The Wild Heart Isle was notorious for unifying against humans and demons but had little objection to aether children.

It was not a haven but so long as they could survive on their own, the beasts let them in.  Lind was a first for them in many ways.

He was perceived by many to have awakened a beast bloodline but it was much more.  His soul was now a dragon and his body was being changed.  He was stronger, faster, and more agile than a human, yet his stamina was nowhere near Ethry's.

He also could not sustain his transformation like she could as a human.  It eluded him in part but also he felt like he was a cocoon, still in the process of changing.

"I appreciate all you have done for us, and will happily answer any questions you may still have.  I heard that Mengcong is one of the most beautiful places on the island."  The jungle was named by humans but the beasts had no quarrel with it.

The mists at early dawn and dusk gave a phantom quality to the whole place from what he was told and his wives found them useful to further hide their sect from prying eyes.  The future had some obstacles but that was a different discussion.

Lind was trying to see why she happened to be there the day they arrived.

"You make excellent tea, for a human."  Lind noted her emphasis on his appearance but did not comment.  He looked around and saw both Ethry and Annabelle looking angry while Qing's face had become blank.  All signs of anger.

Shoti and Cyntilla were hardly changed but Lysanna behind him cracked a knuckle.  So being called human was seen as an insult or an accusation?

"I am still mostly human, but I am finding myself put out with them more than I used to be.  Perhaps I am becoming fed up with the higher powers' hypocrisy."  His words seemed to make her eyes narrow and Lind noticed hidden eyes in her hair.

She actually retained all 8 of her eyes!  The face looked human but she retained some of her bestial characteristics.  Perhaps she was a fresh Star Tier, thus the feeling of difference.  Was there such a gulf between the start and peak of a single tier?

"You admit your humanity, even knowing what I might do?"  Lind glanced to his wives but no one spoke.  His look was not missed as a sinister smile crossed her pale face.  "I see.  I have mostly only been able to take their word and what few connections I have in the human world about your status.  What I have heard speaks only of a human, named Lind Frey."

Understanding flooded him.  The Mengcong was a place of beasts, no matter the agreements they made, if Lind was only pretending to be a beast, he would be expelled to fend for himself.

His plans were not bad but clearly the aether beasts did not care what happened in the human and demon side of the Floating Isles if it did not affect them directly.  A dangerous approach considering recent discoveries.

Lind's dark green eyes narrowed as he thought of a few things.

"Ethry, what would happen if I transformed?"  He had only changed inside cities or during fights so he honestly did not know.  Ethry lit up when he asked but she then seemed to fidget.

"Um, it would depend.  When I transform, any beast below my realm will cower and run away while those at my realm will feel oppression.  Those above me will know what I am but that is just assuming my form.  If I use my bloodline, it would be like a beacon for anyone to find me."  Lind appreciated her looking at it from several angles as he turned back to Lady Gua.

She seemed displeased by his question.

"Lady Gua, as I am sure was explained, we do not wish to be found yet.  I would also not like the Mengcong to become a target.  I am happy to show you what I am, but I would like to set up some defenses before that.  May I?"  Lind saw she once more narrowed her eyes but now all 8 narrowed at him.

"What kind of defenses?"  Lind smiled as he engraved sigils without a thought.  The grade 5 quality stunned everyone present.  He had not had time to explain everything that happened but Lady Gua launched out of her chair in shock!

Even aether beasts knew of weaving.

More than one fool thought they could overcome the defenses of Wild Heart Isle with it or infiltrate its forces.  Anger flowed off of her but then she felt her blood still as vertically slit eyes looked at her.

They were emerald but it was only a glance to freeze her heart!

"I will not be able to talk once I transform.  Further, I have a tendency to give off my distinctive harmony color.  Last, I am one of 2 known dragons in the Floating Isles.  It would not take much to narrow down where I am if I was perceived from a distance."  Lind had shifted his tone.

He was now full of authority and spoke as if it was common sense to follow his lead.

The weaving took shape before it floated around the room.  Lady Gua could confirm no one could see within but she could break the structure anytime.

It was far weaker than her!

Still, it was way stronger than anything she had ever faced in her 2000 years of leading the Mengcong.

The room suddenly changed starkly.  If before her pressure was constantly trying to suppress the juniors, all of that weight was subsumed into a terrifying feeling for her.  She had seen Ethry in her true form.

It was awe inspiring and Lady Gua knew without doubt Ethry would become a powerhouse she could never hope to fight, but that was the future.  It only garnished her respect and nothing else.

The current feeling was as if something far more powerful than her was already there!  Lind Frey changed as his robes were torn apart by the emerald scales now covering his body.  His chair shattered under the weight and his tail!

He now stood at almost 4 meters tall!  His face became an elongated snout with razor sharp teeth and his eyes, those spirits cursed eyes never let her move!  She was a Star Tier, so how was he making her feel that way?

She suddenly felt several auras focus on them as the bestial Lind Frey looked up.  His eyes narrowed as a rumbling grew in his chest.  He was angry.

"ROOOOAAAARRRRRRRR!"  The Mengcong shook with the roar of a mighty beast.  All aether beasts, animals, and even aether children felt their bodies tremble in fear.  The whole jungle seemed to shift as the trees themselves parted to let the sun blaze down on a lone tower.

The trees hardly acknowledged anyone, let alone Heaven Realms, but that roar made them seem to bow in fealty!  The Illusion Pythons all felt their blood boil in excitement as it resonated in their bloodline.

Anything remotely connected to dragons felt empowered and joyful while all the rest simply felt suppressed.  The other Heaven Realms were just as affected and they were not even there!

On that day, a new lord of the wild was acknowledged.  His name did not matter, his voice was heard and he would be left alone.  The trees moved back and the jungle fell to silence as Lady Gua stared open mouthed at Lind Frey.

It was not an illusion nor was it simply a bloodline awakening, he was an aether beast!  He was the start of his bloodline as her own warned her not to cross him.  Tears filled her eyes as she witnessed something few of her kind ever had.

"Darlin' you sure are gorgeous."  Her voice was still powerful but it was now seductive and far too intimate!  Lind blinked as he looked around the room.  Every single woman would not look him in the eye aside from Fey.

What was going on?

Lady Gua knelt suddenly as her leathers unfolded into 6 more legs!  These 6 were much more in line with being a spider!  An arachne!  She was an arachne!  It was as impossible as the lamia comparison but his Eyes could not be fooled.  She was really an arachne!

"My lord, welcome home!"  Lind felt like he had been led into a trap.  The strange actions and the serious confrontation led to this?!  He was now in charge of the whole Mengcong?!  He slowly turned back and looked sternly at all in the room.

"Someone better explain right now!"  His voice was far from kind and despite being the weakest in the room, he was who all looked towards.  Not a single person doubted he could do the job just laid at his feet but first, they had to explain how it all happened!

Lady Gua remained in her full submission position and all his wives suddenly became mute.  Shoti finally coughed as she seemed to play with one of her whips.

"Uh, ya see, my love.  Apparently you marked Ethry as your mate and well, dragons are a big deal to aether beasts.  So Lady Gua was the first to offer her area to us.  It was just that, um, we did not quite understand what that meant until it was too late."  Lind narrowed his eyes as he did not like the suddenly satisfied feeling in his soul.

He looked at Ethry and she blushed deeply as she slowly came forward.

"It means, Lind, that every race of the Mengcong is yours to do with as you please.  If someone comes to challenge our place here, you will fight them.  Also…"  Ethry trailed off as she could not seem to finish her words.

"You will finally unify us, my Lord!"  Lady Gua finally spoke again but her cold looks were replaced with a feverish gleam.  Lind felt a headache forming and just sat down but fell since his couch was destroyed.  It seemed appropriate.

He just wanted to found his sect in the Floating Isles, he did not want to go off on a quest to conquer the whole of Wild Heart Isle!  His roar was a challenge just then!  He slowly closed his eyes and willed it all to be a dream.

The path of the Moebius Sect had changed and he only wondered how much blood would be shed before it was all settled!
