Chapter 422 - 421 - Ransha Quigyu
Chapter 422 - 421 - Ransha Quigyu
The 2 demons that had been struck by Heaven had little to no items left. Their storage treasures had been wiped from existence with the rest of them and only a few bits of metal and cloth remained.
Even Lind could tell nothing from the materials. He was not familiar enough with the details of each island's composition to even begin to narrow down where it came from. In the 3 continents, he could see an artifact or even a pill and quickly determine where it was from by method, skill, or material used.
The demon he purified was much more helpful as all of his items were intact. Unlike his body, none of the items were Fiend related, only demonic. There were no emblems on his robes but the formations were at least high grade 4.
It placed the demon near the bottom of his organization but his skill in hiding meant the experts above him were terrifying.
His storage treasures were only a bracelet and a pouch. For the Floating Isles that would be considered very low on the level of power in his group.
Lind had to use a diffuser to imprint the demonic treasures but once he did he was able to retrieve everything. Mostly it was demonic Qi stones, a few herbs, and some pills. It was quite typical for any cultivator but that only made Lind suspicious.
"Fey, do you know any tricks they would use?" She had far more experience with Fiend agents. She nodded and brought out a small 4 sided metal artifact. It was high grade 5!
Though she had lost a lot of her cultivation, she was still able to use it. The object glittered as fire and darkness Qi flared on it and it floated over the demon.
A thin beam of Qi began to move over the body until it stopped about halfway down the torso and focused an intense beam of fire at the robes on the right side. A demonic distortion cleverly woven into the robes broke and a cube was revealed.
Fiend Qi instantly came off the item but Lind isolated it quickly. He used his diffuser and spent the better part of 2 days carefully examining the cube. It was a storage treasure but unlike any he had ever encountered.
His anti-Qi seemed to clash with the formations that created the pocket space but Lind was able to overwrite the imprint with that effect. Once he had done so, he simply cracked the formation in the largest room the hall had.
Many things fell out but most of them would have turned a weak stomach.
There were more desiccated corpses but clearly marked with some kind of metal tags. The language was not one Lind was familiar with and there was no intent behind it to grasp either. It meant it was from the Floating Isles natively.
Why keep some and leave the others?
There were also jars of various organs. Hearts, eyes, brains, and even some Lind was sure were from aether beasts at the Star Tier! How did a demon that seemed so low on rungs of power have those?!
There were finally a few things that narrowed down where the demon came from that he did recognize. A dagger was sheathed in fine leather. It had the emblem of a moon covered by a claw.
"The Five Fingers. I heard about them from Huo and Azylea. They are a rather powerful demon Clan on the Legu Island." As the name implied, the island was known for pleasure. It was not a bad place at all but it had rather unsavory cities located within.
A cultivator could find an idyllic glade next to a pristine mountain to the most notorious brothel known to man on that single island. It was immensely expensive for either service but it was managed by demons and humans equally.
There were no resources to scour over aside from the natural environments so it was best to leave it be. Still, there were cities that much darker desires could be fulfilled according to rumor and the Five Fingers ruled 3 such cities.
"He may be a member of that Clan, Big Brother, but he is more." She picked up a small metal medallion from the wooden floor.
It was without any formation or feeling of Qi but the image was explicit.
It was a nude man and woman entwined with a flame all around them. The details were extreme and very clear. It was not a gentle union but a clear greed to consume the partner.
"Ransha Quinyu." Lind arched an eyebrow at that name. It seemed rather on the nose but he could not argue with it being blunt.
"Who are they?" Fey had paled at the words and now looked in fear at him.
"They are a legend to most, or maybe a nightmare to be more accurate. The Heavenly Maiden Sect, Hellfire Sect, and Divine Sword Sect have encountered them before. Even the Sword Breakers Sect would ally with us if they knew they were here. Senior Baihu would not even bring up his grandson's death at all!" After how fiercely they had been pursued, Lind had a very firm idea how reviled the group was.
"What are they and what did they do?" Fey calmed herself at his repeated questioning and relayed what she knew.
"They are not only demons, but humans too. Only aether children are exempt from being members, but could still be used by them. They are more than agents, Big Brother, they are true adherents to the Fiends. They share the gift of consumption!" Lind had already grasped that but did not understand the emphasis she put on it.
His confusion was clear but another voice spoke up.
"Most so called agents of Fiends are simply the disenfranchised of cultivation society. They believe they will rise up or find a shortcut forbidden to them by other powers. Once they learn the truth, most people would run far, far away from Fiends. Only truly twisted creatures can share in the feeding gift Fiends enjoy." The changeling came into the room but their features were not shifting anymore.
They remained slender and between man and woman, but the dark eyes never looked away from that medallion.
"They are also the worst scum of the universe. The Fierce Fairy is right, Master Frey. Baihu would actually send you every man he could spare to kill these bastards without a second thought." Lind had prepared an attack but the calm voice and look made him relax.
"So they mix in with the rest of us which is why they are killed on sight. Then let me ask you both, does the Tidao Syndicate have no brains at all?" Both balked at the detail they missed.
Yinande was not like other islands. It had a single point of entry heavily regulated by 1 power. There was simply no way demons would be missed coming in with such numbers. A teleportation had to be balanced by the controller or the target could be missed entirely to being dropped straight into the void!
The Syndicate knew at least the demons were there and the disappearances, while able to be ignored to a point, would not slip by all of them. The changeling actually seemed to become contemplative for a moment before a dark look passed over their face.
"Old Gao. He is retired now, but he still has the power to make things look normal. Still, he never struck me as reckless and he would hate Fiends or their agents as much as anyone." Lind narrowed his eyes at the changeling.
He had no reference but the level of power needed to cover up the desiccated corpses was sufficient to make him suspicious how the changeling knew of such a powerful man by name.
The changeling seemed to read his mind and simply smiled wide.
"I don't suppose the demons plus Old Gao narrow the suspect list?" Lind expected the changeling to answer but it was Fey who spoke up.
"Lady Xin. She is a peak tier 6 Nightfall Demon, at least she was the last I knew. She is part of the–" Blood drained from her face as she slowly turned to the changeling. Both of them seemed to know something but Lind was in the dark.
"What?" His question made them both jump.
"She is, um, a prominent member of a Sangre Banq. A rather notorious organization of demonic blood drinkers. Their headquarters are unknown but they rarely attack anyone. How they get their blood is likely slavers but no one can confirm it." The changeling spoke and Fey nodded as well.
"Blood Feast? Seriously?! How are they not hunted on sight?" Fey simply looked afraid but she answered.
"They have a Hell Realm as their leader. He has shown up from time to time in the past and few can fight him. Supposedly he is the 3rd leader of their group." Lind slowly nodded but an idea took root in him.
He examined each desiccated corpse.
Each and every one was void of blood. There was no need to consume the blood but all of the corpses had it missing!
"So they are using Sangre Banq as their cover while they actually take the soul and cultivation of every cultivator. Clever." Lind felt anger rise but it was simply more on top of the attacks.
"What if it is not a cover?" Fey whispered the question as she seemed to know more.
"Lady Xin has been around a long time but no one is sure if it is the same demoness or not. She disappears for some thousand years and then comes back but that has gone on longer than a Sky Realm could be alive." Lind found that hard to have slipped by any organization. The changeling seemed to sense his thoughts.
"The only beings to have seen her were thousands of years apart. Many believe it is a title rather than a real name. There have been contradictions in her description but the revelation of the Fiend connection makes things more sinister." Lind had had enough.
"Who are you?" The odds of someone having the level of knowledge they possessed was incredibly low. A remote eastern village made it even less likely but in the midst of a 5 year attack? Lind dismissed such odds as impossible.
The changeling smiled and put a finger to their lips.
"Spoilers!" Lind frowned deeply and Fey also looked displeased but they had no time to dive into it as one final piece was brought to their attention.
It was a jade slip that Lind was surprised to see used normal Qi. He dove his senses into it and then the aura changed.
Emerald flames engulfed the slip as it shattered into thousands of pieces. He transformed into his full 3 meter height covered in emerald scales. His vertically slit eyes were murderous.
"THEY ARE AFTER LITTLE FEY! THEY WILL ALL DIE!" The walls cracked as Lind's rage seemed to go violently out of control. Despite being a full tier higher, Fey felt fear in her body.
All her battle instincts were screaming to run!
The changeling seemed to sway far beyond what was physically possible for a humanoid but they now looked very serious. They tried to summon something but were shocked when they found their spatial storage was not responding.
A chill entered their body as the full focus of Lind Frey fell on them.
The beast bloodline that was part of them wailed as he moved closer. Qi flared but then sigils appeared! A weaver! Lind Frey was a weaver!
"You will tell us everything right now, or die." The cold tone came from the sigils but the changeling suspected it would be the same if he could speak. They slowly nodded and the aura retracted but the focus never moved.
"I suppose I should start with my name." Flesh began to shift and then a pristine white robe covered their body as they became a voluptuous woman with bright golden hair. "Ah, I have not been in my chosen form in so long! I feel better. Master Frey, I am Oba of the Heavenly Maiden Sect at your service."
Fey suddenly felt shocked and Lind also looked at her in a bit of awe. They could both recognize the emblem on her robes was a full elder of the sect! Her aura had risen to tier 7! She was a Heavenly Maiden Sect Elder!
