Chapter 386 - 385 - Immortal Tips
Chapter 386 - 385 - Immortal Tips
Younger Twin and Lind had experimented with more than just elixir creation. They had also experimented with his 6 elements. Unlike any Sky Realm that had ever existed, Lind was the first they knew of.
There were some unexpected side effects.
Lind, at tier 1, could manipulate the environment with ease that normally took a Tier 4 at minimum to accomplish. It also increased his comprehension of his harmony as Younger Twin pushed him to change the weather inside the training room.
If he could do it there on a small scale, the Floating Isles local area was his to command!
Clouds were summoned as pressure dropped. Lind let his rage loose as he saw all the bruises and damage to the villagers. He also saw a look he had never wanted to see again, a look he knew well from the slave pens he had destroyed personally.
The men and women had been used like toys!
Their souls were broken!
Guilt was mixed in his rages as he understood the likely cause. A destitute village would not draw the eye of cultivators, not to that extent. Villagers would not lash out stupidly either unless provoked.
The village had existed for over 1000 years at least according to Mara so the only reason for the change had to be related to him.
He was assuming but the conversations he listened to led back to a story about a few clear vials found in the village. He had made a mistake and saw the consequences.
He was too used to people fearing him or fearing angering him that it never occurred how different the Floating Isles would be.
Mara's extreme respect for him had put him back in that mindset as well. It was clear there were limits he was not aware of.
Lind pulled at the Qi and it danced in his palms as he floated behind a screen of illusions. Annabelle would be proud of his ability to mimic her skills but that was all he could do, mimic it.
His weaving was nowhere near the level needed to deceive the men below.
The storm built in power until lightning flared like the wrath of Heaven. It isolated the village and left no escape! Lind would not let them go!
He still had no weapons that could withstand his power, but he had no need of weapons at the moment. He let his soul flare as his body transformed. His robes were stored away until the massive shape of a dragon man floated in the air.
His vertical slit eyes glowed with rage as his scales reflected the lightning. He looked like a monster from Hell.
He dove out of the sky as the men in dark gray robes unleashed powerful Arts. The World Arts were nothing to him now. He pierce ravaging fires, whips of earth and water, as well as gravity attacks as if they were not there.
Only 2 men were a threat to him.
The 2 Sky Realms tried to use a warhammer and mace respectively but Lind sneered at their pathetic intent. They were not warriors.
They also used artifacts to attack, rather than Arts. They were not as hard working as the World Realms around them.
Lind roared which made many bleed from the ears, but what he wanted was the moment of confusion.
The lightly lavender skinned man lost focus and it was all Lind needed.
He became an emerald blur as his claws ripped the heart out of the man's body. His armor was paper to Lind right then. The other Sky Realm seemed to do better but all the blood drained from his face at Lind's power!
"Retreat! We have to break out!" The man grabbed 2 of the Gold Tiers and tossed them at the lightning barrier. The 2 men screamed and were reduced to ash in an instant but had no effect on the barrier.
"Damn it! What is that storm?!" Lind would be hard pressed to explain as Younger Twin taught him a few tricks mortal realms usually did not know.
Sky Realms were where cultivators could begin to manifest their will on the world. It was much harder in the Heaven Realm and Celestial Fields, but the practice would lay the groundwork for what was to come.
As such, Lind could start to practice those techniques that would be the basis of future Arts. Lind had essentially made a very basic piece of a 6 elemental Art that could be refined by someone like Wyndam into a more effective form later.
It was rough, but Lind got it to work. Its power was impressive, but its duration would not last without constant attention from Lind. While his Qi was busy, Lind was using his dragon form to unleash his wrath on his enemies.
If they figured that out, the Sky Realm might be able to escape if he flew away as there was a hole in the lighting field where the clouds were, but the panic kept the man from realizing it.
"Do you know who we are?! We are the Broken Sword Sect! If you kill us, you will be hunted down and killed as an example to all our enemies!" Lind sneered which gave his face a rictus as his fangs were exposed.
His response made all the humans wail but the dark eyed man simply started to quickly toss out artifact after artifact to explode! Lind simply stood there as the chaotic Qi washed over him.
He acted as a living shield for the rest of the village but the destroyed artifacts were far weaker than the original functions. It was a common mistake among cultivators that did not understand how artifacts worked.
The inscriptions would gather Qi to unleash the power desired whereas overloading the core would simply cause the infused Qi to disperse as an explosion. The power would depend on how much the artifact could hold and was put into it.
The man foolishing put water and fire into them in the hopes the clasing elements would be violent but it was a poor choice. Power was lost while the artifacts still broke. It was devastating to lower realm cultivators but to Lind, it was simply a warm dousing.
"MONSTER! THAT IS A MONSTER WE MUST KILL!" The Sky Realm was panicking as he tried to get his men to attack but most of them were injured by his own tactics before. Blood flowed from many wounds while some glared at him.
Lind had enough.
He cracked the ground as he launched himself over the dozen or so still standing fighters and then opened his mouth as emerald flames built up. The Sky Realm grabbed one of his men like a shield which did not stop Lind at all.
All of these men were guilty.
The flames tore across the air and the Gold Tier warrior was nothing to the attack. He was vaporized in a few moments but it was enough for the Sky Realm to avoid death. He did not avoid dismemberment.
His arms were gone below the elbows!
He wailed like a child as he rolled on the ground. Any hope of his escape was now gone as his Qi was going out of control. Lind moved quickly and shattered the Sky Core. He would not chance a core explosion due to the useless man.
The lightning finally began to fade but not a single man in dark gray robes could escape. They were all injured, crippled, or so scared they could no longer make their body move.
Lind shrank before their eyes until he stood sweating and naked in front of them but no one dared to think they were safe. His dark green eyes turned as lightning gathered into his fists of terrifying power.
"BURN!" Seventeen bolts struck each man and ended their lives. It was a merciful end but the journey felt like an eternity to all involved. Lind carefully surveyed the village and his eyes turned back into vertical slits.
After a time, he relaxed and cleaned himself off before donning his crimson robes.
He walked slowly towards Mara but stopped a good distance away as she stared at him. There was real fear in her eyes but he carefully severed the bindings holding her and the other villagers.
The mental scars imposed on them for who knew how long had been broken by Lind's act. He had gone that far with the brutality for that very reason. The shock might be enough to allow them to move forward in some fashion, he hoped.
Lind then got down on both knees and bowed to Mara.
"I am so sorry!" His apology seemed to break some kind of spell as the villagers wailed and gathered together with their loved ones. Their children grasped their parents but the nightmare was far from over.
All that had happened and saw was going to haunt them all their lives. Almost all were certain to never advance in their cultivation and the likelihood of suicide was not small. Mara stared at the man that had saved them before slowly standing up.
"You have nothing to apologize for, Lord Elixir Master. I did not protect my village from themselves. We did not take steps to hide your kindness to us." Mara was not lying but Lind slowly stood up and his dark green eyes made her shiver.
"No one should have to hide good fortune like that, but the one giving it is responsible for the effects. I will follow through as best I can." Lind summoned a golden talisman. It was something he was allowed to keep despite everything else that happened.
The reason was that it was personal, not official. Thus, the sect could not take it from him.
He tore the talisman and the profound aura washed over the crowd as a formation was unleashed until a projected image slowly resolved.
It was a pale blue face with gold slitted eyes looking out sternly at them. The head saw the corpses and the wailing people before it softened.
"I take it you have a good reason?" Lind got down on both knees once more and bowed to the image which made Mara stunned once again. He then relayed all but his location as he did not know.
Mara spoke and the golden eyes widened in surprise.
"So, you are here. Some people will be happy, but you did make a mess. As you are taking responsibility and employing us, we will come for them, but you understand it will not be cheap?" Lind nodded and tossed a bag to Mara.
"Keep that for the Maidens. They will come for you all." Mara felt her knees quake. Who was this man?! How could he possibly have a talisman to talk to a Heavenly Maiden?!
Lind turned back and bowed deeply once more.
"I thank you deeply, Senior Tyr." The name made Mara suddenly jump. She knew that name in regards to the Maidens! She had made a name for herself with the battle against a wicked sect that had been notorious in the Floating Isles for millennia.
"I know why you do what you do, but try to stay out of trouble for my former little sisters." The coldness of that sentence made Lind flinch but he nodded swiftly. The image dispersed and Lind stayed on the ground for a bit before standing up.
"I have to go, I cannot be here when they arrive, but they are coming. It is best if you do not withhold anything from them. I free you to tell them anything they ask." The pressure of the oath vanished in that moment as Lind slowly took to the skies.
Mara looked at the golden emblem on the bag and had many questions, but for the moment there was a lot to do before the Maidens arrived. She began the work and wept at the broken. She was among them but had to hold on. She had to be strong until she could finally be weak.
She looked up to the receding speck and thanked the Heavens for their mercy that day.
