Chapter 370 - 369 - Rumor vs Fact
Chapter 370 - 369 - Rumor vs Fact
"You have me at a loss, senior. I do not know your name." Lind cupped his hands and bowed. His tone was cold but the pale man floating above was hardly bothered. He even sneered at Lind.
"Delaying will do no good. Choose or watch them all burn." Lind shrugged as he really wanted a name but he could find out later.
"I choose…neither!" Before he finished speaking an aura filled the world! It was extremely oppressive and did not belong in the mortal realm. It was a grade 8 metal. It was a rare prize from the Skinwalker Inheritance.
He could only take 1 of each and had to have Dierdra help store it in his ring, but it worked. Now he took it out which was much easier.
The effect was instant. Both the pale man and Lind fell from the sky as the rules of the mortal realm were negated.
Sky Realms could not fly in the Divine Lands as freely as a Mortal Realm. The conflict bowed to the higher realm material as thunder clouds gathered.
All trembled but Lind did not let the moment pass. He unleashed his full power as a dragon soul. His power to fly returned. He was a Divine Progenitor. The sky was his home!
The falling Sky Realm roared as he unleashed poison and shadow Qi into a spear shape that dispersed once launched. It could not withstand the aura of the grade 8 ore.
Lind smirked at that.
He was gambling but he did not hold back as he changed in front of everyone. Emerald scales covered his skin as his eyes became vertical emerald slits.
The clouds boiled overhead but Lind only looked up and roared that made many ears bleed, even the pale man's!
Some trembled but a certain demon near the border of Petra looked back in awe. His hands shook in joy to see such power. He had been acknowledged by such a being! Tears flowed as he raced off.
The formation around Petra had shattered long ago and had no effect due to the grade 8 ore smashing it into oblivion. It was not alone, all the arrays were completely overloaded.
Ships that were only held together by their formations sank immediately while some buildings collapsed due to their design being only possible with formation enhancement.
Some were injured but all could not worry as the pressure from above kept increasing!
"What are you doing?!" The raspy voice still carried in the chaos but Lind only looked down like a god in judgment of his followers.
"You said it yourself. I am a sentimental person. You all keep thinking about my scholarly side but my service in war seems to slip all your minds." Lind knew it was more that they could not believe that someone who had so much to do just to cultivate or advance their professions, could also be a terrifying warrior.
Normally, they would be right, but in the Divine Inheritance, Lind had the chance to vastly expand his foundation and professions unlike anything in the mortal realm.
In the Divine Lands, a grade 5 professional was as common as blades of grass.
Thus, even Dierdra, despite not having much experience herself, was able to help Lind advance to low Heaven grade 5 in both elixirs and Forging.
So when he was not only in the Divine Inheritance, but when he returned, Lind advanced his battle proficiency. He already had a good foundation in staff work but his saber hilt was a clear example of his advancement of battle techniques.
"You are just a thorn in the side of giants. We will crush ants like you with a breath!" The pale man slammed into the ground but he was able to reinforce himself with earth Qi. It caused him to cough up blood but Lind did not care.
"Ants are not as weak as you all seem to think. Ants are wise. They do not brag nor draw attention. It is only when threatened that you understand how powerful ants can be." Lind was not simply arguing for the sake of it but due to the fact that insects were terrifying in the Divine Lands unlike anywhere else Lind had been.
Ants still were in the background but even Dierdra would not cross them. If you kill one, an entire army will be unleashed that can strip a land bare in only days. It is only when that happens that people remember the power of ants.
The same was true for Lind. He was not interested in bragging about his abilities. He did not need to be praised. His only pursuit was to advance his cultivation and protect his loved ones.
When that was threatened was when his fangs were exposed and people who did not believe the rumors were faced with reality. Lind Frey was a monster.
Lind pulled out a saber hilt and channeled his harmony into it. A massive emerald blade appeared far greater than any he had shown before. It also seemed to have scales!
"BURN!" He dove out of the sky as lightning crashed into the metal ore. The sky was rent asunder to expose the void. The fear before turned into true terror as the void seemed to pull on their very souls.
The emerald fireball falling from the sky was a minor distraction to all save the pale man. He quickly tried to summon an artifact from his storage ring but nothing happened! What was going on?!
He looked up and realized space had been locked down! The Heavens were banishing a forbidden ore so all storage items stopped working! So how did Lind Frey summon that hilt?! Why were the Heavens favoring him?!
The emerald blade sliced the air and the pale man simply reinforced his arms with earth. The pain spiked in his body but he had no choice. The expected protection did not occur, however.
Brackish blood flew in the air as 2 arms were sent flying. His forearms were cut in half and then from his elbows the other half was sliced away! It was as if he was a lower realm than Lind!
How?!
Rage burned in the pale man but he did not give in. He could not use his storage ring, but he still had artifacts to hand as well as formation plates.
They were essentially bombs for him at the moment, but that was enough.
A sneer crossed his face as he tossed out the first dark formation plate and the Qi flared but Lind then summoned some artifact. Again! He was able to use his storage treasures, why?!
The Qi of the formation plate suddenly stabilized. It was simply negated after that by Lind. Frustration rose as the pale man tossed out more artifacts but nothing stopped Lind. he kept closing in like an aether beast with those reptilian eyes.
"I will not lose to a child!" The pale man then bit his tongue and his blood burned as his cultivation increased. Lind then smiled at him before disappearing from in front of him!
A rough hand grabbed the pale man from behind before tossing him towards the grade 8 ore! The rips into the void suddenly closed in but the Heavens also focused on the pale man. He felt terror unlike anything before.
His Ascension Tribulation had been horribly painful and terrifying but pills had seen him through it. He survived and expected to prove his creator right that modifying cores are possible but the horrific experiments were not worth it in his mind.
He had tortured that man and his family for years before they finally died.
The pale man turned and wanted to pull Lind into whatever was going to happen but the man was not there!
He scanned the crowd but he was nowhere to be found.
"Looking for me?" A voice from above made the man flinch but then he was caught by the rough hand once more. The speed and strength were far beyond the Diamond Tier!
"What are you?" The question was blurted out but the reptilian eyes were just cold looking at the pale man as the scaly hand let him go.
"It is of no matter to the dead." Lind then vanished once more as lightning fell from the clouds and lashed the pale man. He was an abomination that the Heavens would not allow when brought to its attention.
Demons and humans can exist, but a hybrid was not allowed.
Lind knew that pushing beyond the tier 1 of Sky Realm in the lower world would snag the attention of the Heavens in the current situation. His blade was consumed in just slashing those arms and he was barely flying.
He put on an impressive show but the Heavens were the weapon he needed to win and the ore brought them on.
Lind slowly turned back into a human appearance as he slowly fell out of the sky. He looked on as the lightning ripped the pale man apart as he screamed in defiance. He could not believe he was dying at the hands of a junior.
Lind finally landed on the roof of a simple square warehouse at the wharf as the ore was ejected from the realm into the void. It hurt that he could not study that in the future, but his victory was more important.
Sweat flowed on his body but he quickly down elixirs as the sky cleared up. Lind looked where the pale man had been turned to ash and hoped there was no one nearby that could show up at that moment as he was at his weakest.
As if to mock him, a woman did appear right in front of him at that moment.
"Lind Frey. You are quite troublesome to track down." She was a wild azure hair color with cream colored skin. Her fine robes screamed high to supreme power. Her cultivation was at Diamond Tier at least, but Lind could not stop a Soul Realm at that moment.
"I don't suppose we can negotiate?" Lind held up his ring and the woman frowned deeply. While Lind was weak, if he had something similar to what he just did, it would not be good.
"You don't strike me as a cruel person. At this height, how many would die if you released that here?" Lind knew his bluff failed. There was a reason he flew up into the sky. The heavens would banish the ore to the void and anything adjacent to it.
All of Petra could have been sucked in if he let it out at the current roof height he was at.
His flinch was not missed as a slave collar appeared in her hands. Desperation nearly made Lind do it but he could not kill that many innocents to simply escape.
Despair filled his heart before a powerful aura slammed the woman into the wooden roof.
"Honestly, just once, could you not walk to the very edge of destruction you idiot?" A familiar voice came from above as a wounded Nadia floated down from the sky.
Her blood made him cringe but he had never been so glad to see someone in his life. Nadia frowned at the woman on the roof.
"He is under my protection, any objections? No? Good!" Nadia collected Lind into her broad torso and flew away as the woman with the collar was left behind. Lind smiled as he passed out in the hands of his friend.
