Chapter 342 - 341 - Partings
Chapter 342 - 341 - Partings
A large banquet was being held by the Moebius Sect. It was not exactly a unique one but it was by far the most diverse in attendance. Demons, aether children, humans, and even some tamed beasts were present.
The festive atmosphere was a celebration. Two Sky Realms of Moebius Sect were advancing on to the Floating Isles. Previously, such a banquet was not held when the wives of Lind Frey left.
Primarily because the wives refused to be a spectacle and also possibly because there was a rather nosy Heavenly Maiden Elder poking her nose around for running the thing. Elder Tyr was many things but even Lind knew if she planned the party, there would be nothing left of his sect!
She had been put out and quickly finished her rotation with the lower world to follow after his wives. He believed they called her a lovable nuisance but Shoti was just as bad when it came to egging Tyr on!
Lind's mother had already moved on, but she had gone back to her Clan for her celebration as had Lind. It had been a wonderful time and he promised to keep going. He had gifted his mother several alchemical recipes and techniques to assist in her pursuit of more profound pills.
He had also given her some things for his wives as he could not entrust anyone else to carry such things. The only people that knew he had them were Kora and Tal but neither of them were interested in them very much.
The benefits of a Divine Inheritance were apparent in the range of knowledge alone one could acquire in a short amount of time.
Now, many familiar and unfamiliar faces were visiting the sect. Most had come because Lind was seeing off the last of his wives. Lysanna and he had officially married as Lind did not think he could survive 4 death stares if he ever made it to the floating isles.
He had, however, not been able to do more than literally sleep with Lysanna. There was a rather unfortunate side effect of becoming a dragon that senior dragon soul had warned him of. Ethry did not have an issue but she was a bit too eager so he had refrained with her as wll, but it was very difficult!
Their combined instincts were very strong!
Still, he had endured and made it clear why he was doing what he was. The problem was there was no alchemical pill to inhibit a dragon from impregnating anyone in the mortal realm.
Lind's current state was a mix of humanity and dragon race, but the odds were very high that he could produce children at a far higher rate than any human. Lind knew he did not want roots left behind in the lower world.
He would never leave and it would never end. Thankfully, if he got to the Floating Isles, there was a small chance of finding what he needed. His mother had a strange look when interroga—asking about where her grandchildren were.
Once he explained the issue she nodded and got a gleam in her eye. A cold sweat broke out on his back but he had no idea why.
As the party raged on in the Moebius City, as it had come to be called, the sect was just as rowdy but with some restraint. There were no smashed tables or fights for instance. There were contests of strength in the arenas or even production contests but there were no pressures aside from entertainment or a bit of showing off.
Lind looked out at it all from his quarters in his tower. He had been the master of ceremonies but as the party kept going, he was no longer needed. The elders would ensure things stayed within a safe margin.
"They seemed to really need a party." Lysanna was in a simple white robe. She had been given so many spirit drinks that even a Sky Realm could become drunk. The Heavenly Maidens visiting seemed to enjoy needling her about her love life with their guest elder.
Lind had been surprised when Tal was the one who rescued her and brought to his attention how drunk she was. The young stone dral now looked like a teenager but she was still very dutiful. He almost wished she would rebel but she was not human.
It seemed despite taking a human shape, she did not have the same phases of life as one. Still, Lind made sure to push her to get stronger and she responded splendidly. Her bloodline was far above the mortal realm they lived in and it was clear in her quick growth.
Lind pulled Lysanna close and put his head on top of hers.
"A lot of adventures, exploration, and some tense situations needed a release. Maybe I should set up a festival as other sects do." Lind had been working hard and all had followed his example. It was unwise to keep working so long even for cultivators that could go longer than mortals.
"LIND!" Ethry suddenly breezed in but she was not drunk, just winded. He was wondering where she had gone when she nearly tackled him. She had gotten some kind of message by jade stone and flew off the first day of the banquet.
"Where did you–" Lind tried to ask questions but was suddenly unable to speak as his mouth was occupied. Her scent filled his nostrils as his draconic instincts began to roar but he slammed the brakes instantly.
"ETHRY! What are you doing?!" Lysanna sounded more put out at not kissing Lind than anything but Lind's eyes flickered between slits and his dark green before he settled. A pill vial was suddenly placed in his hand.
His eyes narrowed at the seal on the clear vial as 3 bright silver pills were in it. It was not a symbol he recognized but the handwriting on it he did. It was his mother's.
He looked up at Ethry before she tossed a jade slip at him. It was a bright yellow he had never seen but he could feel Sky Qi flowing off of it.
[My son, I will have my grandchildren when you are ready, but until then, I feel my daughters should not be kept out in the cold because of your foolishness. Lady Estelle was happy to supply me with the recipe and materials to make you a special set of pills. As you are likely to hide them from my newest daughters, you will be now cornered by them with no way out. Have fun!]
A cold sweat broke out on Lind's back as Ethry had clearly explained what the pills were for. Lind knew enough to guess that his own mother conspired against him! He was actually comfortable but now he had no excuse!
"We nee–" Lind tried to reason with the 2 of them but Lysanna activated the isolation formation as they both swallowed the pills and Lind was then forced to have one as well. He felt like a restraint was put on him that his draconic side did not like at all, but then it was easily distracted as visions of bare flesh was all he could see.
While a few Diamond Tier elders noted the formation being activated, none thought much of it as it was their Sect Master's private quarters. Only 2 looked up at the tower in unison as their instincts told them what was occurring.
One frowned in jealousy while the other cheered. Kora felt a tightness in her chest she did not like but she knew Lind did not see her that way. He loved her and valued her like family but their relationship was complicated.
She also knew her roc instincts would revolt if she tried to pursue Lind. Still, a part of her yearned to be with him. She could not stay but then a vibration of a jade communication stone went off.
She picked it up and sunk her senses into it.
[My son is very slow, so be patient. Love, Mira]
The affection in the words made Kora tear up but she felt her jealousy evaporate. Knowing that woman welcomed her felt like her own mother she had lost over 22 years ago. She had to go to the Floating Isles, but now she had a goal. She would find the wives of Lind and win them over!
Tal, on the other hand, was cheering and laughing with the other disciples more than before. No one knew why she was so happy but she was now goading on an arm wrestling contest between body cultivators.
She was sad she would be leaving behind her papa soon too but he would catch up to them. She believed in him after all she had seen!
The party went on and other areas of Sarth celebrated as well as several other Sky Realms chose to move on to the Floating Isles. There was, however, one notable exception to the rest of the world on that subject.

Rith was a sparse continent compared to the others. Indelia had a kind of desert now where Rakathi Wastes had been but the powerful oases were creating centers of growth where the Dread Desert was always a struggle for any to live there.
The Demons Teeth mountain range marked the switch from desert to vibrant life, but it was a brutal existence there. The Blood Empire was aptly named by the demons. The earth there was soaked in the blood of all that came before.
Those that did not keep strong were crushed but those that rose up to replace them. While many would expect that to decimate the population, it instead motivated strong cultivators to rise quickly and families to make many children to follow them to guard the position they grasped.
The architecture was always for war. Walls were manned by World Realms with formations that killed without mercy if triggered.
The massive palace at the center of the empire had a gathering of the noble clan heads and ministers. The current Emperor was about to leave for the Floating Isles.
Yor still had spiky yellow hair but violet lighting danced on his fingers as he stared in disinterest at the sky above. He had already cut ties with the lower world, but his Dao companion had not.
"We have prepared you for your rule, but once we are gone, you know what is to come?" Viola was not cold, but she was efficient. Her daughter had inherited her devastating looks but her mind was her father's.
She found peace boring but unlike her father, she was far from ascending. She was only a Stone Tier yet her holding of the throne was unchallenged. Yor had killed any issues as a favor to his wife.
Before he officially left, he had killed a few more as a reminder.
"I will be going to war." Resha had dark violet hair that framed her dark lavender skin. She was of the 4 primary elements which was very good for demons.
Viola frowned as she hoped her daughter would heed their warning. Yor laughed and seemed to come back to the present for a moment.
"You would do well to heed your mother's advice. Wait for that man to leave before going to war." Resha frowned at her father. She disagreed with him on that. She was not stupid but she did not understand why she should fear a single human.
"I will make my own choices. Leave." Resha turned as many noble heads nodded in approval of their new Empress. Viola looked on in frustration but Yor almost changed his mind. He wanted to stay to see how things unfolded, but he had to go.
If he stayed, he was Emperor, none could challenge him. He briefly smiled at the seed he had planted in the Moebius Sect that spurred the headstrong daughter of his on. The Demon Hall was becoming an issue for the Empire as Darkmoor once had.
The Blood Empire was the true way, but Darkmoor offered a new path. Now, the Demon Hall was doing the same. Resha could not allow that but she was impatient.
"I pity you, daughter. Even before he made a sect I knew the truth. Provoking that human leads only to doom." Yor wanted to wage war but Lind Frey had shown over and over how terrifying he could be. Viola stepped next to him as they flew up into the sky and made their way to the ascension pool in Cimmeria.
War was coming and they were no longer part of it, but would watch on as the peace was shattered that had lasted for thousands of years.
