Chapter 335 - 334 - Diamond Tier Body
Chapter 335 - 334 - Diamond Tier Body
Another elder at tier 1 Sky Realm was tossed around like a ragdoll in the small arena. Like most supreme powers, the Heavenly Maiden Sect had several enclosed and heavily isolated arenas for core disciples or elders to test their skills in private.
In the current arena, Lind Frey was fighting his 6th Sky Realm and showed no signs of tiring. He had started with Diamond Tiers but they had all been defeated in a single exchange, if that!
His body blurred with an insane level of speed that should have outstripped his vision but it did not seem so as the tall woman facing him used all her strength to defend his attack with her halberd.
Elder Priscilla was considered one of the best warriors at the Cimmerian branch. Her crimson hair was tied up in a bun to keep out of her way as her battle dress robes glowed with the inlaid arrays.
It took all the weapon and robes could give to even slow down Lind's punch!
The man himself was hardly winded as he appeared once more but he made no further move to attack as Priscilla waved at her defeat.
"I knew he said his body had been tempered during his latest breakthrough but this borders on the ridiculous!" VIce Sect Mistress Lydia looked on in disbelief as the best warrior of her branch was easily defeated. No one had been able to even get Lind to stand still no matter what Art or technique they possessed.
Most cultivators were Qi conjurers as that was the easiest path as well as the one most tied to the elements but some continued to cultivate their bodies to allow for more strength. A tempered body would withstand more Qi and also increase lifespan but it was far harder.
It was rare to find anyone that could keep a body up with their cultivation realm. Beasts had a massive advantage in that regard.
It was part of their natural progression to increase their body with their cultivation realm. The small increase the other races got was nothing compared to the giant leaps beasts could produce.
Lind Frey, however, proved humans were capable of it if they had a beast bloodline in them strong enough to overcome human limitations.
The spectacle of his awakening was still the talk of the city and many requests to meet him had flooded Lydia's office.
Thus far she had been able to honestly deter them as he still took 3 days to wake up but now Lind was learning to control his strength as he did not gradually reach his current point but made it in a single jump.
After he had caught up with his family, Lind had submitted a report to Lydia in gratitude for taking care of him and his companions as always. He even shared his new status as a low Heaven grade 5 elixir master and Forger!
He had produced several examples to the sect as a gift!
The largesse of the man was insane in only a short century!
After that, she learned he had indeed been the cause of the storm to finally disappear from Rakathi. He left nothing out of why the storm happened but a lot of it did not make sense. Lind had to rewrite the report several times until it simply came down to a selfish cultivator trying to circumvent the tribulations for his own power.
The fact the price paid was an entire country left Lydia feeling cold, but the part where Lind had to face the wrath along with the culprit was stunning.
"You are sure of what you told me, Lady Ethry?" The prismatic hair sparkled through all the colors each time it moved but the young woman nodded firmly.
"My race memory confirms that if a dragon absorbs enough energy from Heaven and Earth, the excess will be put into the body cultivation once the foundation is stable." Lydia could only shake her head at the ludicrous nature of dragons.
Too much Qi would cause damage or cripple humans, but dragons simply improve their bodies like it was the most natural thing in the world!
The cumbersome cultivation techniques other races had to comprehend and employ over centuries, the dragons just shrug and redirect the energy as they wished!
"He is all right, though? I mean he seemed worried." Lind had refused to shake hands or touch most objects when he came to see Lydia a few days ago to request the training arena. Ethry frowned as they watched a new contender enter the ring.
It was another Sky Realm but this time a peak one with a giant set of broadswords on her back. It was a sword technique for dual wielding but unlike Cyntilla where she mimicked a predatory wolf, this one was more like a dance of light and shadows.
Lind still blurred to their eyes before the sound of metal hitting metal was heard. Both fighters froze as they saw a sharp blade crack and bend on Lind's arm!
"He simply needs to understand what he can do. Relying on instinct is not his way plus our instinct is rather domineering. Rather than adjust to the world, the world simply obeys." The blunt words made Lydia shiver as she understood Ethry was only answering because Lind had asked her to.
Only Ethry understood fully what was happening with Lind.
"It is more than that. He broke through but did not fully remember his comprehensions. He is trying to understand so he can teach others." Another voice piped up that made Ethry frown deeply.
Lydia agreed with the young woman in platinum and gold robes. The black tinge to the edges reminded her of the beautiful wings of her natural form. The tension between the 2 women made Lydia sigh but they thankfully kept the peace.
"Papa is so cool!" The little girl sitting next to Lady Mira was practically bouncing up and down. It was a stark difference from her natural form but endearing in either case. Mira was happily patting her head.
Lydia was stunned that Lind had adopted the stone dral as his own child. Ethry was also smiling gently now at Tal but clearly felt awkward about her previous treatment of the girl.
"Is there a reason you are not testing him, Lady Ethry?" Lydia was confused on that point. Of all the beings currently in the sect, Ethry seemed the logical choice. A sudden blush on the young woman's face as she glanced away confused her more.
A snort on her other side was followed by a smug look on Kora's face.
"Dragons treat battle as more than just a fight, but as part of their courting. Lind was concerned 'someone' would not be able to control themselves and miss the purpose of the fight!" Lydia felt her jaw drop. That could not possibly be true, could it?
A shadow at the side of her vision resolved into a flying sword that slammed into the barrier. They all looked down to see Lind had won yet again without a scratch. His opponent was smiling wide despite the loss.
Zyrelle always enjoyed good opponents.
"I would like to change the next round, please only use Arts against me and increase the number of opponents." Lind's voice was clear and no sign of exhaustion was there. Lydia sighed but used a jade communication stone to relay his request.
It took a bit but 5 Sky Realms emerged. It was clear World Realms would not challenge him enough by that point.
Lind bowed and then assumed a lotus position to the shock of all. The 5 women looked up at their Vice Sect Mistress but Lydia only waved them on. They had no idea of how resilient the boy had become.
Qi began to flow like a storm as some launched direct attacks while others cooperated together to make a support for their fellows. They worked as a team and the Arts slammed into Lind but as Lydia expected, he did not even budge.
Instead, a storm of elements came from him but while they were far below the quality of the attacks, their strength was forcibly raised by his cultivation.
"This could take a–" Lydia was about to suggest they adjourn for a while when she was shocked to see the Arts from Lind improve immediately. They went from Iron to Gold to Diamond, and then finally touched on Sky Realm!
How could a low Diamond Tier reach such a level?!
"The same as before." Mira's voice broke their disbelief as Lydia recalled the story of Lind reaching Iron Tier. Gold Tier conjuring had no effect on him!
"His comprehension has clearly improved as well." Lydia had seen the boy struggle from the Soul Realm to the peak of the Iron Tier. The potential of the boy was such that any other grouping of elements would have had him in the Sky Realm long ago.
The battle continued for days but Lind made no sign of wanting to stop so the 5 kept fighting. Lydia did not dare to leave as she wanted to know the limits of him.
It was on the 6th day a change occurred. The 6 elements no longer appeared but demonic elements did! An artifact had appeared in his lap and it was clear he was training demonic Qi!
The 5 Maidens did not even blink as they simply changed tactics. A smile flickered on Lind's face as just like before, the quality of his control improved in days over demonic Qi. It, however, topped out at the same as his foundation. Low Diamond Tier was as far as he could go with it.
He was even struggling to do that. Peak Gold Tier was more likely the safe zone.
If that was not enough, a 2nd artifact appeared but Lydia leapt out of her seat the moment she felt the Qi in the arena.
Fiend Qi! Lind was trying to use Fiend Qi! It was clearly very difficult but his body endured all the attacks as if it was impervious to any harm the women could dishout. The aura of the Qi barely cleared the Sand Tier before it became unstable.
Lind frowned but not because of the strength. Lydia also sensed it but could not understand what the difference was. She had faced Fiend Qi as part of her training but the Qi Lind used felt far different in alignment.
If the Fiend Qi she faced was sickening and evil, the Fiend Qi Lind used was awe inspiring and wonderful. What had he done?
"ENOUGH! The battle is over. None of you are to speak of what you saw here today, swear it!" Lydia's fierce gaze made all 5 bow and swear on Heaven and Earth to not reveal what they had seen.
Lind was still in the lotus position but he was not having an enlightenment so much as comparing the 3 Qi he controlled. How was he doing that?!
Lydia felt her head ache as she realized they needed to have a very long talk and make sure no one spread what he could do. Why her all the time?!
