Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 313 - 312 - Changing Goals

Chapter 313 - 312 - Changing Goals

Dierdra always felt slightly off since she had awakened in the Sacred Scar once more.  Her death in the wider world had been far from where her clan was once in power, but the great war never reached Lord Skinwalker's Inheritance.

The Divine Realm cultivators and their clans were not all there, only a few who chose to allow it.  Some simply chose to do so for a chance to live again, but she knew better.

A Divine Realm cultivator only had 1 life, Heaven and Earth did not allow anymore.  Only the creator of the Inheritance could possibly resume a life as they made it when they were about to die.

Her daughter, Kora was diligently cultivating to the plan a strange human had given her.  It was both odd and joyous to see her daughter alive once more.  Truly alive.  Before, Dierdra had simply protected her to the point of indolence.

Kora became a doll Dierdra kept to remind her of her daughter.

After Lind Frey interfered, something had changed for the better.  The stubborn, impulsive, and vibrant daughter she remembered had returned.  Kora had died due to Qi deviation back in the Soul Realm to the World Realm progression.

It had been horrible and so damn slow!  It was something Dierdra had been desperate to avoid but Skinwalker had made his Inheritance with certain restrictions.  Any Divine Realm cultivator must exist as they did in his memory, thus Kora had to be alive with Dierdra in the Sacred Scar.

Lord Skinwalker had lived there for nearly 4 million years, but now it was his Inheritance.  It was the place he solidified his Dao of Life.

Dierdra was basically a ghost given flesh due to the quirk of Divine Realm cultivators.  She was alive inside, but when the Inheritance collapsed, she would disperse back into Qi.  She knew it as a fact, not simply a guess.

Her daughter was different.  Any cultivator below the Divine Realm had a strange existence inside a Divine Inheritance.

If they followed their original fate, they were the same as Dierdra, but Tal and Kora were different.  They were strains, small ones, to the Inheritance.  It was the whole point to put pressure on the creator to find enlightenment or finally die forever.

Lind had changed both of the fates in front of her and she changed her original goals after watching the elixir master and Forger.

He had spent the last year pushing his limits but rather than grade 5, he had gone back to basics on both professions.  He had a unique environment to push his boundaries in different ways.

Rather than reach ahead, he wanted to increase the quality of what he could already do.  She was shocked as not only did he have elixirs and Forging, but he also studied Weaving!  Sadly, her treasure house had no weaving resources as it was a very rare gift, but the boy had it!

He could now produce grade 1 Weavings of a quality she could acknowledge as well done.  He was very slow there but the other 2 professions were terrifying.

He had been only a mortal grade elixir master and Forger, but now both platinum badges had crimson '3' on them.  He had destroyed a small abode Forging over and over, but his elixirs were now a driving force for his Forging.

Master Frey had focused on the revelations of the various artifacts and treasures her clan held.  He took nothing from the halls, but used them as inspiration.

Her greatest shock, however, was that ancient dragon storage ring.

She had been stunned it was in the Inheritance.  It was unlike any other treasure kept by her clan.  Since they were all destroyed over 5000 years from now, it was safe to offer whatever he wanted to use as he could keep them outside.

The ring, however, was never there originally, it had been with the Crimson Fang Clan that once lived on her border.  Rocs and dragons had a visceral combative nature against each other but their pride rejected the Inheritance offer.

The ring was a grade 8 ring, but it seemed to restrict itself to what Lind could handle.  Its capacity should be massive but he had said it was only a little over 1000 cubic meters.  She suspected it would increase as he progressed.

"My Lady, the envoy has arrived."  Dierdra was brought out of her thoughts by the head of her personal guard.  His almond eyes were irritated so the envoy of the Vermillion Talon Clan was no doubt arrogant.

"Understood, let them in."  She sat on a simple throne.  Aether beasts, especially those considered close to divine bloodlines, did not have ostentatious decorations or homes, their power was all that mattered.

Humans were very shallow with aether children sadly following them.  Demons tended to vary on the matter but personal strength was of higher value to them.  Element Spirits had no need of such useless things but their short lives also leant to that.

A haughty man about 3 meters tall swept into the open air room.  The canopy was of fine make but his dark eyes looked with disdain while looking at Dierdra's voluptuous assets quite openly.

She internally sneered at the light shade of green to the robes of the man.  He was barely a Crystal Tier Immortal but felt he could strut in front of her?  He would regret that.

"Lady Platinum Wings.  My great lord on high, the ruler of the Silver Mountain, the powerful–"  Dierdra took great joy as her aura slammed into the fool in front of her.  He was crushed onto the floor as if strings had been cut holding him up.

"The young runt Tawn has some complaints?  My men and women were killed while your clan hardly involved themselves.  Instead you sent the Caeruleum Clan and Softfeather Clan experts to die for you!"  Her molten gold eyes burned with anger at that.

The Vermillion birds were offshoots of the phoenix but had their heads firmly up their posteriors and refused to see any other bird as their equal.  Rocs, on the other hand, were respected by phoenix clans which irritated vermillion bird clans.

"I-insolence will not be tolerated.  Your daughter caused the issue and her hand in marriage is forfeit!"  True rage flowed in Dierdra's veins but a sudden aura flared over the room.  Emerald light dispelled her aura due to superior bloodline.

Both the envoy and her head guard trembled but she smiled.  Timing was so nice right now.

"I was going to say I had a new thing to talk about, mother in law.  I could hear the vigorous words down the hall.  May I ask who you are, senior?"  Lind Frey had emerald scales on his skin as his dragon aura was like a hammer.

Despite facing an Immortal, his Divine bloodline took precedence.  Bloodline dictated the pecking order for aether beasts over the cultivation realm.  Further, Dierdra was shocked to see a crimson badge on his chest next to a platinum one.

She narrowed her eyes and was surprised to see it was his Forging badge.  Elixirs lagged behind?  Likely the master's conditions were quite harsh for Heaven grade elixirs as they were far more complex and came in varieties mortal grade could not.

The Vermillion Talon envoy was terrified as he noted not only the aura's source but the badge on the right breast made that World Realm a highly respected master!  Those that carried a Heaven Grade badge had far more respect than mortal grade.

"Honored Master, I meant no disrespect.  This is an internal matter due to the deaths of our valued subordinates–"  Dierdra frowned as the situation could indeed be termed that way but Lind cut off the envoy.

"Yes, your little battle nearly got me and my friend killed.  I also found Kora near death.  I had to heal her with great difficulty.  Tell me, how will you compensate me?"  Lind's slitted emerald eyes were cold as he looked down at the cowering envoy.

Dierdra had to contain a full bout of laughter.  She loved this human!  He seemed to be reluctant to welcome her daughter as a wife but he would not allow his friends to be used.  She liked that very much!

"I, um, ah, you see, we did not–"  The envoy was unable to form a sentence as Lind smiled like a predator that had found juicy prey.

"Are you going to tell me the mighty clans of high avians have such poor sight they could not see my badge?!"  Her head guard was terrible at hiding his smile but she was just as bad.  The blood drained immensely from the envoy as he seemed to wish for death to end the conversation.

"NEVER HONORED MASTER!  I will go back to my lord and clear up the matter immediately!"  Lind suddenly seemed to become sinister at those words.

"Really?  Do you take me for a fool?  You were sent to take my promised one away.  How can I trust your words?"  If he was pale before, the envoy now was essentially wishing to slit his throat and offer his heart if it would appease the being before him.

"W-we did not know, honored master! I swear we did not know!  I have received your wisdom and will quickly relay the state of affairs."  Lind was still standing over the poor Immortal but an elixir of Heaven Grade 4 appeared.

It was quite stable and Dierdra was shocked his badge had not changed if he could produce such a result.

"Give this to your lord as compensation for his losses and if he leaves us alone, I will consider the matter closed."  The envoy stared at the vial in his hands as he truly began to understand the depth of their error!

Dierdra had let up long ago but the man basically crawled and ran out as if he was lit on fire. The tension in the room was all gone as Lind let his transformation go and nearly fell over.

"You were careful in your words, Master Frey."  Dierdra had caught him with her Qi.  She was a master of air and light.  It was easy to keep up an Iron Tier.  Lind smiled weakly.

"I simply do not like people being treated as things.  All life has a right to dictate their fate."  A shock went through her heart.  A scene replayed in her memory of a much younger Skinwalker saying something very similar.

No wonder Master Frey was allowed into the Inheritance.  Dierdra changed her mind once more.  She was content to let things take their course before, but now she would actively get her daughter to be indispensable to this human.

It was Dierdra's last hope but she could not tell Lind about it.  Skinwalker was very strict and his Inheritance was not as simple as Lind seemed to believe.  Progress in the Dao of Life was vague but it was also specific.

Lind Frey had a long journey ahead, but she would not let him slip away.  At the very least, she understood part of his problem but withheld the information as she was unsure how to speak of it.

The Divine Realm cultivator was thinking in a myriad directions as she altered her plans over and over but all of it centered on the weakly standing human in front of her.

If she knew the terrifying nature of his Dao, she may have reconsidered but the die was cast and no one could stop it anymore.
