Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 311 - 310 - Inheritance Treasures

Chapter 311 - 310 - Inheritance Treasures

Lind wanted to cry!

He was not engaged but apparently even suggesting a name indirectly showed an interest.  It was all a trap!

Laughter came from his host who had the name Dierdra.  She had withheld it until she realized what Lind was.  An elixir master was highly valued by aether beasts even more than pills.

Their cultivation issues required special pills if they could be made but the interest was low and the chance of an aether beast having the ability to make pills was also very low.  A bad combination.

Elixir masters, however, had much more flexibility and thus were highly valued.

"If you thought I would let you off the hook after Kora's excellent argument and your skills, you are indeed too naive.  You should be careful in the future, not all threats are life threatening."  Dierdra seemed highly amused but Lind vehemently disagreed.

His life was in mortal danger!

Still, once he left the Inheritance, it would be over.  It did give him pause and great confusion about Dierdra's actions.  She knew he would be leaving, she surely would not force him to live here?!

"Mother!"  Kora puffed up her cheeks but her blush kind of spoiled it.

"My Lady."  A very tall man appeared but Lind could see faint traces of avian features.  His aura was much weaker than Dierdra but stronger than anyone else he knew.  A powerful Immortal.

"Ah, good.  Master Frey has just healed my daughter completely who now has the name Kora.  During his work to save her, his storage ring has become irrevocably damaged.  Please take him to the treasury.  Hall 2."  A flinch was noted by Lind on the man but that was his only reaction outside of a nod.

"Ah, Lady Dierdra–"  Lind had a question but was cut off by a suddenly harsh glare.

"You call me Mother in Law, or Mom works too!"  Sweat broke out on Lind's back.  Why did she change her mind so quickly?!  A sudden flurry of limbs appeared next to Dierdra's head but she hardly moved as her daughter smacked her up a bit.

"Mom!  That is too much!"  Kora ran off and leapt off the ledge.  Lind nearly jumped up but Kora then appeared with a golden roc beneath her as they flew off.

"Her highness seems much better, my Lady."  Dierdra nodded as she glanced back at Lind.

"She is still a child but I truly do want you to watch over her.  Whether you actually marry her will be up to you both."  Lind swallowed but slowly nodded.  He had no idea how long he would be there and asserting absolutely nothing would happen was impossible.

Still, he had proven he could resist before, he would do so again!

"You truly have done us a great service.  The treasures you claim from here are yours to keep and will serve you well in the future.  Just make sure they are…compatible, for when you go home."  Lind was floored.

She was being careful but he understood.  Herbs, stones, and everything here was real.  It was reality.  He could take what he wanted and it would still exist when he exited.  It simply had to fall within the tolerance of Heaven and Earth of his mortal realm.

He bowed and cupped his hands.

"Thank you for your generosity."  She nodded and was about to leave when she paused.

"Do you have your badge?"  Lind nodded but glanced at his ring.  She understood.

"I am a peak grade 4 elixir master but I am close to low grade 5.  I have only been able to make 1 or 2 but it is getting closer."  The man bolted upright and bowed sharply to Lind.

"Master Frey, I will happily guide you to our treasure hall!"  Lind knew he was valued but he could not help such a powerful cultivator.  Grade 7 was far beyond his skill.

"There are many aether beasts with issues like my daughter.  That stone dral is lucky its elements align.  Their prismatic cousins have many issues."  Lind filed that away as the man transformed into a giant rock with pure white wings.

Lind enhanced his strength to pick up Tal and they hopped on his back.  They took to the skies and he once more felt his heart soar.  He wanted to fly!

They came out of the canopy area and he saw they were on a massive mountain range surrounded by a deep chasm.  The top of the mountains were capped in beautiful snow that reflected rainbows from the sunlight streaming down.

Lind realized how large they were as he looked down and saw the jungle in the distance but it was so small!  How far up were they?!

He also finally saw a towering wall in the distance.  What had Dierdra called it?

The Sacred Scar.  He had imagined some kind of ravine or valley but it was massive!

He began to grasp the kind of power Dierdra could wield if Divine Realm cultivators fought!

They soared over a honeycomb of caves and buildings.  Despite seeing humans, he suspected all were rocs or some variation of their allies.  A few waved and other rocs flew by but they rose to the very top of the tallest mountain.

There was a simple structure there.

It was basically a stone hut to Lind's eyes but when he switched to his Heaven Eyes, he nearly went blind.  Complex arrays circled the structure in ways that made it as bright as a sun to his vision.

It took a moment for his sight to return but he did not risk another glance.  They finally landed and there were 2 guards at the entrance.

Lind could tell at a glance they were peak Immortal Realms compared to their companion.  They also seemed to have similar features to Dierdra and Kora.  Cousins perhaps?

"I present Master Frey, per Lady Dierdra's order, he has access to Hall 2."  Both guards flinched at those words, but seemed to expect them.  In unison, the 2 guards touched several spots on the simple stone hut.

Arrays flared and pressure appeared suddenly as the door opened.  Lind was truly curious as he followed his guide in.  Tal came behind him but she was shivering a bit.  Lind patted her to calm her but then froze inside the doorway.

The small hut led to a massive room with weapons, vials, artifacts, and who knew what else.  The hut barely cleared 3 meters but the hall was like an endless cavern!  He could not even see the ceiling nor the other walls!

Only shelf after shelf!

"This way, Master Frey."  Lind followed his guide and then realized each shelf was organized by type.  There were swords, spears, and so forth in one section, while armor filled an array of shelves in the one next to it.

They followed their guide and he noticed it was artifacts.  Bracelets, necklaces, and so forth but he could tell they were all storage items.  He expected to stop but their guide kept walking until a single shelf at a deadend came in sight.

It had rings!

"My Lady made it clear, these are grade 6 and 7 rings."  Lind was stunned.  He had thought all storage rings were grade 7 but now he learned there were grade 6!  He examined them but without binding them, he could not tell their capacity.

He was also unsure of what was safe as his ring was originally grade 7 according to rumor but no one could confirm it.  It was simply assumed.

He was about to simply pick one when he froze.  His dragon soul was agitated.  It was reacting to something in the treasure hall!

He turned and began walking.  Both Tal and the guide followed him as he moved down one path way after another until he arrived at the feeling.  It was a pulsating shielded area.

"What is behind that shield?"  Lind turned to his guide and saw he was quite pale.

"It, um, it is not something I am allowed to show you."  Lind knew that was reasonable but he channeled his foundation and green scales appeared as his eyes became slits.  It was becoming easier each time to transform.

The feeling soared as a strong desire overcame him to step forward.  The shield stopped him but unlike outside, this array was clearly of lower quality.

He found a weakness and it shattered like glass.  It was a ring, made of something like onyx or other dark metal.  Why was that ring off by itself?

Lind then noticed something no storage ring ever had, an emblem.

It was a sinuous dragon in silver.  Lind calmly picked up the ring and several things happened.  All the items in his ring were transferred directly while a faint roar echoed in the room.  The other treasures vibrated as if in fear but Lind used a drop of blood to calm the ring.

His old ring shattered into dust which made him sad.  He looked at the new ring and was stunned!  Its capacity was far beyond his old one.  It was easily 1000 cubic meters!

"Where did you get this ring from?"  Lind's voice was distorted but the power in it was undeniable.  The guide was cowering as the aura coming off of Lind was far above him!  A Divine bloodline!

"It was found after we came here!  My Lady brought it here and forbade all to go near it, then that shield appeared!"  Lind somehow knew the words were true.  He also knew the ring was happy to find him.  It was sentient!

"I am Lind Frey, what are you?"  Lind spoke out loud but no response came save a feeling of pride and joy.  He did not understand but it became calm after that.  He then looked up at the guide.

"I need herbs, lots of herbs.  If you have any spare beast cores also, I want to break through."  Ideas had come to him with the ring.  It was as if he saw hope to move forward at last.  Why?  What was the ring and why did the bottleneck he had felt for so long seem paper thin at last?
