Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 287 - 286 - 5 Years

Chapter 287 - 286 - 5 Years

Moebius Sect had grown in earnest the last 5 years since the massive disruption caused by the Demon Empire machinations.  Many cultivators felt 5 years were an eyeblink but even for them, the last 5 years had been chaotic and full.

A massive agreement had been forged by Lind Frey concerning a special bloodline demon.  The details on the demon were not known, but the demon was easy to find once it became public.

Kalen donned the robes of the Moebius Sect with his Clan's blessing.  Tessa was allowed to stay to be with him as well as an elder of the clan.  The Demon Empire chose to stick with Rathi but they also sent an expert in the bloodline according to rumors.

The royal consort of the Darkmoor Kingdom became a fixture in the arenas.  Lind Frey had to curtail her streak with his authority and then his wife faced Callisto in a fight that left all awed to see it.

Directly after, Cyntilla had to leave to face her ascension but returned after a month as a tier 1 Sky Realm.

Her prowess only became more terrifying but she also worked to stabilize her cultivation for the next year before she had to leave.  At that time, no one knew what she did to resolve any issues but it was very effective.

Her departure had been a huge party and a night of frivolity the whole sect enjoyed.  Strangely, her majesty Callisto did not challenge Cyntilla that night.  She also enforced the peace for any that tried to take advantage of the chaos.

Over that same time, Prince Wyndam rose in several aspects.  He became engaged to the twin daughters of Emperor Calim.  The engagement had made a month-long celebration but more than that, Wyndam released a complete array of Sand and Stone Tier Arts for 6 elementals.

The Arts were spread and the effect was terrifying to many as at the Soul Realm, 6 elementals had shown a massive increase in power and flexibility with existing Soul Arts.  With Wyndam's creations, that power at least doubled and maxed out at 5 times more than same realm cultivators.

In effect, if a power nurtured a 6 elemental, they had a powerhouse instantly.

It still took years of training and quality clearly still dedicated potential while deviation was much higher in breaking through if rushed.  The risks, however, were nothing in the face of strength.

The Moebius Sect's teachings helped immensely once it was founded.

Wyndam also rose in authority in the sect.  He was officially made a Vice-sect Master which told all that his role as heir of Tur would be likely put off for a time.  The King was still hale and having the sect woven into their bloodline would never be a bad thing.

Related to the romance of his highness, was his sister's increasing presence in the sect.  She had become a kind of administrator but had not donned the robes of the sect.  Instead, she became a kind of ambassador for outside powers to channel requests through and it clearly showed that Lind listened to her.

Rumors had sprung up that she was romantically involved with Lind as they had been having dinners and courtship outings witnessed by a lucky few that spread it to as many as possible.  The lack of denial added fuel to the fire but the respect of Lind Frey kept salacious accusations minimal.

Further, the respectful steps taken showed that Master Frey was taking it seriously if the rumors were true.

All of that was already a lot to happen in a short amount of time, but then things became odd.

Kalen began to progress in his cultivation and was scheduled for special fights in the arena.  They were bloody and sometimes ended oddly.  Kalen had his opponent in a death blow but then would freeze before falling back.

Other times, the boy would stop himself very clearly before walking away.  His vicious looks became more powerful as time passed.  The horns grew, the wings expanded, the tail became sharper, and the hooves more powerful.  What were vestigial additions became fierce weapons in his arsenal.

The foes in his fights were also strangely 1 to 2 tiers above him at minimum with some Gold or Diamond Tiers mixed in.  Betting was allowed but odds were always in the favor of Kalen and after a few fights, it was clear why.

As time passed, Kalen had a following of fans that adored his brutality but he always chased them off.  If they caused issues, he would be the first to punish them severely.  Some even became crippled before his fans took his admonitions seriously.

On top of that, a sort of embassy of the Demon Empire was set up inside the Moebius Sect.  This had never been done outside the Demon Empire or Cimmeria.  The effect was clear as more resources flowed from other powers to counter the Demon Empire being there.  Starfire House also set up another unprecedented office in the Sapphire Auction House.

The result of both was the creation of the Moebius Auction.  It was held on a yearly basis which included something few auctions could claim.  Moebius Sect was the source of current cutting edge elixir masters and Forgers.

Their works were at a level even the Sapphire Auction House could not sustain in its various branches.  The yearly auction allowed the various levels of disciples to earn credits or Qi stones depending if a mission was involved or not.

The repercussions made Moebius Sect grow rapidly but Lind Frey controlled it.  The streets remained well planned and he did not allow undesirables to be treated as such.  Rogue cultivators on their last Qi stone were given work and able to get back on their feet.

Many condemned his trust but it cost the sect little.  Abuse was near impossible as results had to be presented to a tribunal but the only thing that suffered was resources the rogues would lose if they did not work hard.

Many were stunned at the lack of abuse on either end.  Bribes were quickly revealed and bias was somehow caught just as fast.  Overall, Lind Frey had created an impossible dream and kept the secret to his success carefully concealed.

After all of that, many would think it was enough, but then his mother broke through to the Diamond Tier and became a grade 5 alchemist!  Those were very rare in the lower mortal realm and now some powers from the Floating Isles wanted to recruit her!

The envoys flooded the sect but his mother disappeared!  No one knew where she went at all!  Lind Frey rightly said he had no right to dictate to his mother, who was now well above him in cultivation!

Their frustration was felt but the Moebius Sect was not far more powerful.  Lind and Wyndam had leveraged the powerful figures present along with the yearly auctions to forge stronger connections that even the Floating Isles could not ignore.

After all of that chaos and strong cultivators staying there for 5 years, things finally came back to a head between the supreme powers.

Kalen Cygnus broke through to the Stone Tier.  Despite many rumors and claims he would lose control, the man had risen above his bloodline's negative mental effects as was proven when he demonstrated it in front of the Demon Empire envoy.

At the Stone Tier, the horns grew much larger and curled while the wings gained a darkness Qi effect.  The tail became as sharp as a sword with a pointed end.  The hooves could crack the earth as if it was glass.

Despite his terrifying appearance, the viciousness of his attacks lessened.  His control was superb and the Demon Empire was frustrated.

Rather than choose a power like Darkmoor Kingdom or Demon Empire, Kalen chose to stay in the Moebius Sect for another tier.  There were those that wanted to accuse Lind of influencing the demon, but then something odd occurred.

No one could find the Sect Master!

Princess Lysanna relayed that Lind had left a year ago for his cultivation but not a single spy, information broker, or Sky Realm had noticed his leaving.  How was such a thing possible?!

A sudden dispersal of scouting, spies, and communication had exploded outward but the year trail was cold.  Not a single soul could find him anywhere!

The likely places like his Clan, Cimmeria, or even the Elemental Sect had no sign of him.  The Heavenly Maiden Sect swore to Heaven and Earth he was not under their lands either.

Several years of looking across the 3 continents turned up nothing.  No one understood it but Wyndam had been named the interim Sect Master by the last edict left behind by Lind.  His administration was far more scholarly but a swath of 6 elementals worked under him to continue Iron Tier Arts research for 6 elementals.

His soon to be wives were happily supporting him while now well fleshed out elixir masters taught the next generation and Forgers did the same.  The Moebius Sect had a firm foundation of nearly a century and no one doubted it would continue to grow far into the future.

North western Indelia had a desert like Rith.  It was a wasteland but unlike Rith, it was a blasted land.  Lightning of all 6 elements blasted the sands often.  It made a highly unstable and dangerous area to live, but many carved out an existence there.

Legends of Inheritances, Ruins, and other treasures lost due to whatever caused the endless lightning storm.  The border was a stark separation.  Vibrant life of green grass and living trees sharply ended next to prismatic sands.

A being in all black and a mask solidified from the forest and looked at the Rakathi Wastes.  It was a place of opportunity but more than that, it had tribulation lighting constantly smashing it.

Its quality was high enough to be of help too.

Lind removed the mask on his face and felt the disruption ahead of him.  His dantian and meridians were fully healed now.  He had been able to leave 6 years early but he did not doubt his trail was being followed by experts despite his methods.

Leaving his own sect as a masked demon gave him a head start, but he could not keep wearing the outfit in Rakathi.  The Qi was too disruptive to safely control the transformed Qi.

It still took him a year to reach that place but following him there would be much harder than the rest of the world.

"Let's see what I can learn."  Lind now wore his old crimson robes.  His emerald robes for when he was sect master, but he had no plans to return to his sect until he broke through.

Lind crossed into the sands of Rakathi and the dark clouds rumbled with power far beyond his comprehension yet a glimmer of inspiration was now in his eyes.  It was finally time to progress once more!
