Chapter 1713 - 1712 - Strange Place
Chapter 1713 - 1712 - Strange Place
Lind's recent travel on his old home planet had made him forget how insanely huge the landmasses of the Divine Lands were.
At the speed his ship cruised at, barely over half its max, he could have circled the Earth about 5 times before they got close to the western edge of the Northern Continent.
It was a matter of months but he needed those months to fully grasp his power. His aura was one thing but he had made massive advancements very quickly. The Earth Layer itself was also compounding issues as he had severely underestimated the increase it would bring.
He began to understand why Journeyman Tiers were the usual rulers of any land they held. A battle at their scale would be pyrrhic every time! How he had killed some made him realize the vast chasm Mysteries made possible.
Some Journeyman Tiers might only be slightly more powerful than a full Apprentice Tier while others could take on hundreds of Apprentice Tiers without fear of injury or defeat!
Aristrossa was giving him a benchmark, however, in what Divine Lords were. Her foundation was inferior to his, even after her transformation into a Divine Lord. His close friends and family had strong foundations but he felt like Karu or Qing could take her on if they were of the same level.
The reason he thought that was because Qing, even though she focused on heart demons and healing, felt not too far off from Aristrossa who was a peak Heaven Layer Journeyman Tier.
Ethry and Shoti could take her on if only speaking on pure combat ability.
A Divine Lord, however, had a nearly unfair advantage against all other cultivators. Divine Authority made his old True Lord Authority look like a joke.
True Lords could use their Authority to invoke Heavenly Wrath or even natural events to an extent but it was very costly to them. If their target had a lot of karmic retribution on them it helped but not a lot.
Also, it never extended beyond the local area the True Lord was in.
Lind could not command dragons from across the Southern Continent just by invoking his Authority as a True Lord.
A Divine Lord, on the other hand, was horrifyingly powerful.
If he closed his eyes, he could detect dragons everywhere! Distance was no barrier to his senses! It was not just dragons either! Any race that carried a trace of dragon blood was within his grasp!
Further terrifying to him was his race, the Harmonic Dragons and Emerald Dragons! They both carried his legacy in them and even in the Celestial Fields, he was aware of them!
He was also aware of the danger of exerting his will on those lower realm dragons but he could still perceive the world he had ascended from with ease!
What broken ability was that?!
After a month of studying it, a flash of anger went over his heart. He recognized that kind of connection as he understood all he could do.
Karmic effects were his greatest asset. If a dragon bloodline violated Heavenly Laws, he would be easily able to now enforce punishment.
He also recognized that power all too well. It was the same as the Fiends only they twisted it!
Rather than enforcement, the Bastard turned it into a support network for his own cultivation! At every advancement, Lind only learned how much more the Bastard had broken the Laws of Heaven and Earth.
He did not reveal it but it was obvious the Bastard had taken another system implemented by Heaven and Earth.
The rest of his time was spent see what he could do as an elixir master, Forger, and weaver.
The last one shocked him. His ability as a Divine Lord actually allowed him to imbue his Authority into his sigils! He noticed it cost him nothing and was limited to certain types as well but the fact he could do that at all was likely unique to him.
His weaving was tied to his soul as well as his being a Divine Lord.
Forging was the most drastic improvement compared to anything. He had been simply unable to push it much over the last few thousand years without drawing attention.
Weaving and elixirs were a bit easier to hide, but Forging stood out as the tools and artifacts were readily seen by any expert when used.
Thus, he had been limited in focusing on it beyond surpassing his previous skill level. Still, mastery was not something he could claim.
Now, thanks to his general advancement, he found Forging to be incredibly efficient as well as powerful!
He could easily create peak Dao Grade items even if he was asleep! Mystery Grade was no longer blocked off either! He estimated he could succeed with medium Mystery Grade at least 70 to 80% of the time.
He upgraded Qing's and Karu's items immediately. They already had the materials as their base so all he had to do was customize it for them.
The fact he could do that for Divine Realm cultivators shocked Karu to her core! Apparently, he had not been able to do that before at all!
The fact he could use other people's Mysteries also marked him as a supreme expert that all powers would happily welcome with open arms! He could end wars if he wanted to at his whim!
Lind doubted the last part but it was worth testing sometime.
His elixir mastery was easy to confirm but harder to consolidate in his current circumstances. The issue was due to a lack of herbs and beast cores at the levels he needed.
Herbs were easily found roughly speaking but Mystery grade was rare to the extreme. Beast cores, by the nature of Mystery Grade, had to come from Divine Realm beings.
It was a given that no beast clan or even rogue beasts would grow on trees, even for him.
He might now request them from a dragon clan but beast cores were more than a resource for them. They were likely the legacy item for a bloodline and consumed by promising members to increase their purity.
It would be a crime to ask for them unless he needed them from a dragon. He also, due to his unique perspective, would treat other races with the same respect.
Any traitors or vile beasts were fair game to all but even then, they were rare.
Purely herb based elixirs existed but they were limited. Even with Mystery Grade open to him, beast cores were what gave the flexibility to more elixir recipes.
He would need resources to truly claim he had mastered that aspect of his professions but he had strong confidence. Unlike the other 2, he had faced his Master's Inheritance and gained a lot!
Thus, his foundation was solid already!
Lind was in the midst of studying his Talents when he noticed a change. He came out of his quarters to find Karu and Qing both looking confused around them but few others of the crew did.
Aristrossa, however, smiled.
"Finally, home." Lind followed her to the control room and saw more of the endless expanse of ice but his aura quickly connected to the ship's artifacts.
He felt it then. It was an alien force but once he had a comparison for. He then bowed low to the surprise of all in the room.
[Junior honors Senior's efforts.] A feeling of a weight lifting from him happened and Aristrossa looked shocked but Qing and Karu followed his lead.
The being that imposed their will was long dead but the will did remain.
Divine Realm cultivators were that powerful but Lind knew the truth. A Divine Lord had made the current area.
Why was obvious to him but Lind then analyzed it as best he could. The flow of Qi was still in harmony with the established state of the continent without preventing the flourishing of life.
Aristrossa paled as she seemed to be trying to do something but her vitality declined in his senses due to failure.
She misunderstood what was needed.
"Divine Lord Aristrossa, we need to work together. This is not an edict nor a Divine Will. It is something simpler but more potent." She tilted her pale blue face at him.
He held out his hand and she took it. He was superior to her so he was in charge of the bond between them.
Their aura surged and he felt the strange space created by the will. He saw the massive space beneath the ice shelf and also the encroachment of the Yin and ice energies.
It was a strange setup originally and he realized that Aristrossa might be able to recreate it, but only at the cost of her life.
The being, whoever they were, had tried to preserve a place for many beasts and people to thrive and still be in harmony with the new state of the Northern Continent.
Lind knew that would not work as the will behind it weakened with time. Recreating it was possible but foolish, so he took a new path.
His harmony flared as he transformed the border of the space. The encroaching energies fled backward as emerald light fused with the border.
He also secured several passages that existed before. They had been filled with ice and Yin to make entrance or exit impossible!
The balance slowly settled and the pair came out of the trance exhausted. The crisis of the Starlit Refuge had been resolved before then even arrived!
Lind looked at her and she was smiling as sweat covered her brow.
"Welcome to my home, Divine Lord Lind Frey!" He smiled back as the ship began to descend to the nearest entrance. It was time to see why his other self wanted him to come.
