Chapter 1682 - 1681 - Voyage North
Chapter 1682 - 1681 - Voyage North
Lind was inspecting the channels for each cannon when a figure came up the hall behind him. He did not look up as her scent had already reached him long ago.
"I thought you were instructing your vice head on taking over." He felt the weight of the gaze before sighing and looking up to see the calm face of Qing looking at him. Her blonde hair was tightly put up in a bun with an ornate hair stick holding it in place.
It had all 6 elemental crystals placed in an ore that seemed to shift in color as she turned her head. He appreciated the work as it was his design but he had not made it.
It was actually made at her request and had many demands to purchase the design but Qing had refused.
The hairpin was a powerful artifact that allowed Qing to sustain healing skills as well as use her now matured Heart Piercing Art. She had spent her entire life helping others deal with heart demons to the point that she made an Art for it.
It had been difficult for anyone else to use until she finally grasped Daos in the Divine Realm.
The pin had been designed with the future in mind but she needed it before he could create it for her.
"You need to rest. In fact, you were ordered to rest as I recall. I am not beyond calling Mother." Lind smiled but pointed at the channel next to them. There were very fine cracks he was working to fix.
Compared to what he expected, it was far better than he hoped. The repairs were easy but necessary as he did not yet know what awaited them when they headed out.
She sighed at him but as he was the only person that knew the ship at all, she could not fault such minor work. She stayed with him as he finished his work before they began to head down the hall.
There were a few people being educated by Karu and Gaia about the various controls. The strain on the pair would be greatly reduced going forward.
Yue was nowhere to be seen but he knew that was in part because she would be staying and had to get settled firmly.
She was going to fight the Fiends despite his strong objections.
Yue would not add much to the voyage so she had chosen to fight.
Lind had sighed and only accepted when both Ethry and Shoti promised to train her.
With 2 such goddesses of war, he had no fear that Yue would not be able to defend herself. Combined with her fervent desire to improve, he had no regrets.
Lind came to the living quarters and pressed his palm against a panel. A simple room with a large floor area was revealed. He infused his aura into some weavings and a table rose up with 2 fixed chairs.
Lind brewed some tea from a fixed area that acted as both a concoction area and stove. Qing smiled as she smelled the exquisite tea. They sat in silence and Lind felt at peace but it could not last.
They would be heading north tomorrow after 4 months of preparations. The cores were not even close to full but they could continue to absorb Qi as they traveled.
"Cyntilla is reborn?" Qing spoke softly but Lind slowly nodded.
"I discovered how easy it is to manifest a Divine Memory and it nearly broke me. The Twins confirmed that manifesting a living person could never succeed." Her small smile was reflected with his own.
While she would not be the same, the fact her soul was reborn gave them both happiness.
The pair sat in a comfortable silence until Qing felt she had to ask the most pressing question.
"Why hasn't he killed us?" If the Bastard wanted to upset Lind severely, the most obvious targets were his family. Friends would hurt but at his current realm, he could understand the ruse.
Family would send him into a blind rage. Lind sipped his tea before deciding how to answer.
"Apparently, Karu said it was the closest I came to mutual destruction. The Bastard likely wants to kill you but the risk is not worth it if he fails. Even knowing he exists in the next realm, it is not him." Lind had revealed it all to his wives.
There was another realm beyond the Divine Realm but there was no record of it anywhere.
The requirements, steps, and even leads were all unknown but Karu had affirmed he had reached it before.
Of course, that was also true of their enemy. The Bastard had ascended on the corpse of the entire Divine Lands.
She was very reluctant to speak on the next realm but Lind did not push either. His previous selves had sacrificed everything to change his path.
He had to find his own way.
The next day, his wives and many allies gathered to see him off. His effect on the Fiends had kept them at a low profile but it was no doubt a minor pause.
Lind waved as the ship soared into the air before breaking the cloud cover. Many natives that had joined as part of his crew were shocked at flying in the forbidden zone but Lind was long used to it.
While a barrier kept them safe, many headed below as the scenery became a bit mundane.
Lind took his chair in the control room and immersed his senses into the ship. He could not devote time to truly testing out what he had created.
The blazing sun made the sky blue in all directions. He saw the fluffy white cloud layer far below but he could now perceive more than that gorgeous vista.
He could see a shimmering border beyond the sky. It actually gave him a feeling of terror just to perceive it! He had no idea what it isolated them from, but whatever was beyond that barrier gave every sense of danger his senses possessed.
He also noticed a few other things that were familiar to him.
A storm of Laws, Qi, and even Daos were near the barrier. The power was on a scale that even the Master Tiers he had encountered could not compare. Lind truly grasped there was a limit to the world but that also affirmed there had to be a step beyond.
The speed of the ship picked up as everyone was now below decks. The massive vessel cut through the atmosphere as if wind resistance was only for lesser mortals.
The once steady view began to blur even to his senses but they were still deep in the Eastern Continent. He had no idea of his exact destination but the Divine Lord made it seem like it would become apparent on his arrival.
He instead focused on the various capabilities of his vessel. Speed and external senses were minor compared to his next trick.
He began to record below the cloud cover! He saw massive beasts both with wings and without living their lives as predator and prey. He found floating islands that while relatively small compared to the mainland, were easily able to swallow up the entirety of his Heaven Realm lands with room to spare.
The islands were also bare of civilization but not of beasts. Rocs, frenzied eagles, and various other races all laid claim to the mountainous ones while qilin, dryads, and other races claimed the more forested versions.
The diversity of life isolated from all the issues below made him curious but he did not pry more than seeing the surface level of things.
Still, his range of aura was far below what his ship could pull off and the level of detail left his aura even at close range in the dust.
Lind pressed his hand on a crystal panel and his vision shifted. He now saw streams of pure energy. He could actually see the flow not only of Qi but all energies! Life, Death, and everything entered his range.
His Talents had always served him well but he had now replicated them in his ship! Further, he could record what he was now seeing and allow others to study it to aid their cultivation!
He had tried before to replicate his Talents. Touch was nearly impossible. The mechanism behind his ability to directly manipulate Qi and other energies eluded him but his Eyes were another matter.
It was all about spectrums and filtering the world based on them. It took nearly his entire life, but he had done it. The power requirements were a bit more than expected but he could easily apply it to a sect or other grand array or weaving. It was simply a matter of how extensive they wanted it.
His ship did it all so it was a bit intensive but it did what he wanted. He could see what was pulling energy in!
The world hid many things and now he could see what was hidden from a massive distance! Special realms, Inheritances, and myriad other things still needed energy from outside to function even if only in a minimal way.
Nothing was hidden from his ship!
He guided his vessel as even in the forbidden area, he detected several sealed entrances to possible Inheritances or special realms.
He had no desire to get lost in those anymore. He had goals and he needed to achieve them quickly. The risk of time dilation was too great to chance it.
Thus they spent the next few months crossing the vast Void Ocean until the Qi shifted to mostly ice and cold. The Northern Continent was finally in sight!
