Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1659 - 1658 - Reality Arts

Chapter 1659 - 1658 - Reality Arts

Lind turned to his guide as he needed information.

"What is that, an Art or something else?" She seemed glad he asked and then summoned a jade slip that felt far more profound than any version he had ever dealt with.

{Reality Arts Foundational Information}

The title of the research made him flinch. Reality Arts?! Seriously?!

The first few paragraphs were a litany of warnings and severe risks of using that level of Arts. It also confirmed that only Journeyman Tiers that have condensed at least the Heaven Realm layer in its entirety can even attempt them.

The pros were obvious. A successful use would rewrite reality to conform for a short time the world around a Divine Realm. The more complex the Art, the harder it was to use but simpler versions could be countered far easier.

What he was seeing in his current patient was the gray area. A targeted Art at a victim seemed to not be dissipated by Heaven and Earth until one side or the other had a clear advantage.

Lind guessed it was because Divine Realm cultivators were becoming a separate existence in a very real sense from Heaven and Earth so inside of them was an area the rules of the wider world did not apply.

In essence, a reality to wipe out a target would endure so long as the victim could not fully expel it. The stalemate would eventually side with one or the other.

Lind dove into the research and the more he learned the more he realized how unique the Divine Realm was. The words to describe advancement may be the same but the meaning behind them varied wildly.

Reality Arts were graded not by some standard of tier or complexity but by potency and success.

If either factor was lacking, they were dismissed as useless. The vast majority used their Arts to attack but his Master's application had been sublime. It was like Younger Twin had given that sentence to be the rule of that world forever.

He also finally understood what he had seen in that past scene.

Reality Arts could be used to suppress a Divine Realm to a lower realm for a time. It could not be used to fundamentally change their foundation forever as it would not work otherwise.

In other words, a Divine Realm could descend but it was closer to saying they had rewound time to when they were weaker with their true self looming in the wings. If the Art was pierced beyond an acceptable level, the true cultivator would emerge.

Heaven and Earth would force them to ascend violently too.

That was very bad for the realm too as the power needed to do that would rip a mortal realm apart.

He wondered what happened to that world he had seen but given it was done voluntarily, the Twins could control their ascension.

Lind began to see the mountain in front of him. He had to somehow aid the patients to overcome their various ailments as he had nowhere near the power needed to do it alone!

His harmony could bypass the layers to give him information but that was all. His Art was infused with his will and Dao so it was recognized as an attack.

Lind put down the slip and looked grim. His guide looked expectant at him but he sighed and assumed a lotus position. He needed to consolidate the knowledge he just absorbed and deduce anything he could try.

He knew he could ask for help but an instinct warned him that being given the answers would obstruct his path. He was not like others and had walked a blazing trail that had no easy answers.

If he needed a tool, he would absolutely ask, but he doubted anything so convenient existed. Reality Arts struck him as too unique to the individual to have tools to combat them specifically.

Something to enhance his own Reality Art could certainly exist but he had no such ability! He now understood what some of the artifacts he did not recognize had to be doing for the patients. They were supporting their own ability to fight back!

If those were unable to overcome the current state, it stood to reason he was on his own at the moment.

Lind recovered and his mind cleared as an idea came to him. Rather than focusing on the invader, he should focus on the host.

Lind stood up and then smiled down at his patient who was unable to talk or transmit in their current state.

"I am going to attempt to aid you. I am too weak to directly attack but I am quite skilled at empowering others." Before his guide could ask, Lind's aura became powerful and the feeling of pressure increased enough for all to become solemn as they realized something profound was occurring.

Lind's Art of Defiance was not the answer but he had much older skills to call on. An ephemeral emerald dragon emerged from his body and merged with the patient. The head had no features to easily grasp emotions but shock was clear in his connection with them.

Then, they became joyful as they felt their strained power was now growing stronger! Lind began to sweat as the strain was far more than he expected. He was humbled once more but the patient used the advantage to gain the upper hand!

The once implacable invading energy was routed and also key points were secured so that even if Lind failed to endure to the end, the conclusion was inevitable.

He was able to see it and noted it down as it would become important for him in the future.

Time passed and he collapsed but the patient was overjoyed as their body visibly purged the energy and began to recover on its own!

Heaving on all fours, Lind smiled! Success!

His guide was standing frozen. She had been prepared to field questions or explain why he failed to remove the pervasive attack. She had never expected that he could enhance the patient to such an extent they could resolve the issue right there!

Lind had learned a lot but became grim. For injured patients, his method would be easy to refine and replicate but poison and disease were vastly different beasts. Poison was maybe within his ability as an elixir master but disease was not something he had to face since becoming a Sky Realm.

Yet, he now had a path forward and he just had to get better at it!

Lind proceeded to resolve the other injured patients and realized that the previous experience with the lower realm cultivators allowed him to quickly narrow his focus of support from general to specific.

It helped enlighten him but it also made the next group more daunting.

The poisoned patients were his next attempt as he had far more experience with poisoned beings than disease.

Yet, once again, he had severely underestimated what awaited him. If the wounded and maimed patients had been staving off an invasion, the poisoned patients were being corrupted!

It was not a Reality Art but the actual foundation of its existence to infect and kill those that crossed the source! It made Reality Arts look like jokes!

He turned and found a jade slip waiting for him. He sighed and sunk his aura into it.

Unexpectedly, it was far shorter than the Reality Arts jade slip. The reason being that the fact the patients were alive at all was a miracle. Poisonous beasts and plants existed to consume.

Their existence was part of the natural order so the effects of their attacks were reinforced by Heaven and Earth! Still, it was the right of all living things to fight to survive so it was not absolute.

Compared to Reality Arts, it was about literally finding a cure rather than overcoming with force. He was confused at that point and looked up at the guide.

"You will need to empower elixirs to neutralize or purify the poisons." Lind looked at the vast array of ingredients and realized what he had to do.

He put his all into concocting Restoration Elixirs and Purification Elixirs. His skill was clear to all but his guide was the most shocked as his Mysteries were flowing with such finesse that she could not say anyone could do better even at higher tiers!

Lind exhausted his entire dantian before he stopped and had to recover. He had gotten better but it still was clear he had a long way to go.

He then had the inspiration of what he had to do as his Art of Defiance was fused to each vial. A smile spread as he administered the elixirs and then used his harmony to further enhance the patient's bodies.

The combination was highly effective as the poisons were pushed back and the bodies recovered at an incredible pace. His elixirs were not perfectly compatible but he had improved massively thanks to his earlier work with the lower realms.

The poison was powerful but being attacked from both sides empowered by his harmony proved effective if far more draining to him.

Lind was now entirely exhausted. He needed to cultivate and recover but he wanted to know what his final challenge would be.

He scanned with his aura the diseased patients and became pale. The injured patients had targeted Reality Arts affecting them while poison was a natural process from plants or beasts to create sustenance for them if the target died.

In both cases, the energy inside was essentially following a pre-programmed path but had no ability to adapt. The diseased patients had a far more terrifying issue.

The disease was a cultivator!
