Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1642 - 1641 - Solving the Maze

Chapter 1642 - 1641 - Solving the Maze

Lind now understood why his other selves had seemed so reluctant talking about the Twins Trial. It was not about the difficulty of getting inside but the truth about the Divine Realm he had found there!

It also affirmed why his other selves were obsessed with changing their history before the Divine Realm. Once he had broken through, he would be subject to the suppression he had seen in Karu and others from the Bastard, but it also meant that even with superior knowledge, he would be blocked off from success!

The Bastard had orchestrated everything once he had the power to do so. He knew Divine Realm cultivators were his greatest threat and likely reveled in using the damaged Heaven and Earth to suppress them.

Below the Divine Realm, Heaven and Earth restricted the Bastard from doing too much directly so he used the vast network of Fiends to hunt and try to kill him where they could, but even that had limits.

It was like a human talking to ants. The ant could hear but would it understand? As he got closer to the Divine Realm, the attacks became more directed and personal.

The abuse of Delenn by the Bastard was the best example of that.

Even killing Lanbao was likely a true attempt to kill him before he could rise. If he could be consumed by a heart demon, a Fiend, or just killed, all of it was his win.

His dantian running out of power snapped him out of his thoughts and the various Storm Arts dispersed without his support.

It was time to move on.

He had mastered what he had to do going forward but he also felt the limit at his current cultivation. It was the first step essentially but it was not what his Master was looking for he suspected.

He had already grasped the Arts, now he wanted to show off a bit. The Nodes were now part of his dantian but the concepts of them were still there. Not 3 different sets of elements, but complete elemental power.

Given his new understanding, he had refined them until his eyes lit up with emerald light but also all 6 vibrant elemental colors.

He had not thought to give it a name but now he felt it. A name came to his mind from somewhere.

{Origin}

He had tapped into the original elements. It was barely stable but he felt it. He could use them!

His eyes focused as a ball of water appeared both from him and the maze around him. A flame was born that called back to the first spark. Together, they became his elixir cauldron like so many times before but now he felt the difference.

HIs Mysteries were responding not as overtly as the Arts but laced in every flow of power.

It was drastically improving just the 2 conjurings. He then summoned grade 8 herbs, Divine cores, and some Qi stones.

He worked quickly as he had no doubt his efficiency would be abysmal but he simply wanted a proof of the basics at the moment.

The extraction of essence flowed into aspects and then the Laws and Daos behind them. It did not stop at that, finally.

He saw beyond to the very building blocks of the ingredients. New possibilities danced in his mind yet he acted to create his original plan. He could feel his dantian draining like a sieve.

He turned pale as the energy took shape and changed the very color of the water. It took on a hue of violet, gold, silver, and black. The vials he had filled up quickly but he then realized a problem.

The elixir was too powerful! The crystal lattice could not contain them!

They shattered like grenades. The shrapnel was launched right in his face and sliced him like his scales were nothing!

He was blown backwards by the force and the maze itself was disrupted as well. Lind lay on the ground for some time before his natural healing allowed him to sit up slowly.

"Well, that is one way to fail I suppose." Lind summoned an empty vial and saw the issue. None of his vials were made with Mystery energy at all. There was no way they could contain his newly refined elemental and Mysteries.

"Sigh, starting from scratch it seems." He not only had to repeat making an elixir, he had to improve his Forging or weaving to create a container to hold it.

Still, of the 2, weaving made the most sense. He could engrave far more powerful weavings to strengthen the vials or something else. He chose the latter.

It was not just his harmony supporting the sigils and traces anymore. He just needed a good medium to use them on.

He summoned a solid brick of Shadow Ripple Gold. It was only as big as his open palm and as thick as his closed fist but it was enough. It was a true Dao Grade metal.

He had to spend half the fortune he made training himself to get it and a few others but they had mostly been for study than use. He could improve his ingredients in the process to reach Dao Grade without needing the material to be there.

This time, he needed the material to be the base to enhance it for the next step.

HIs hands glowed with emerald light as the metal bar became bright red as it became molten but he noticed the Daos of Shadow and Metal were shining through. He had to mold those as well as he Forged it into 2 pieces.

The larger of the 2 became a jar while the smaller became a fitted lid. It was crude no matter how he looked at it but it was the material he had on hand.

He had to then recover once more before he could attempt engraving.

Greater power demanded not only greater precision but he also needed to recover after a single session.

He felt naive thinking he could dive into it after all his progress and making batches of Dao Grade items. The chasm between Dao and Mystery Grade was far larger than he had even remotely imagined.

The small jar seemed so innocuous but its capacity for engraving was far higher than anything he had yet attempted in his life.

He began by getting his emerald hair to move as he would need very fine sigils this time.

His long mane of emerald hair moved as if alive and tiny sigils began to appear in the air around the jar. Most of them were the same but a few were layered connections for the traces to stack the weaving.

He made it 6 layers thick as the traces shimmered with golden light. The cocoon of sigils became thick with light. He was covered in sweat until the final trace closed the weaving. It then shrunk into the jar and lid.

He frowned as it did not feel right. He examined it carefully with his Eyes and saw that while his weaving was reinforcing the metal, it was not compatible with it entirely. He had not done it properly, it seemed.

"A long way to go indeed but it will suffice." He had no other Dao Grade metal to use. He sighed and recovered to his peak once more.

The process to make the Mystery Grade elixir was actually smoother than before. He had learned from his mistakes and inefficiencies. The violet color returned to the water with golden, black, and silver traces within it.

He only had one container so he filled it and sealed the jar but the remainder he consumed to test it.

The elixir flowed in his body and his exhaustion was washed away but shockingly, he felt his dantian recover to at least half capacity! That had been unexpected. He had hoped to restore a Divine Realm stamina and the basic energies but Mystery energy recovery was a happy accident!

The instant the elixir finished washing through his body, the mosaic of elemental energy solidified back into a maze but he was at the center. His jar was on an altar that was being scanned by a beam of white light.

He looked around and was shocked to see the changes he made to the elemental energy was replicated in the stone and crystal walls around him! How?!

How insane was the level of the Inheritance?!

A chime snapped his head to the altar and the jar floated over to him but he noticed 2 changes that left him even more shocked.

The incompatible weaving was not happily harmonious with the jar. The other change was the elixir inside had a complete breakdown of effects handed to him with a jade stone inserted into the lid!

When did that happen?! He was feeling humbled over and over since he started the Inheritance but a familiar voice boomed in his mind.

[You have come far and stayed true to my lessons. I thank you for your intent but next time, do something unique to you.]

Younger Twin's voice confused him. Next time? Did he fail?

Before he could ask, the world shifted once more and he was now in something more familiar for an Inheritance trial.

He saw an elixir work station with herbs, beast cores, and other materials he would need.

{Create 3 low Mystery Grade elixirs to the specifications required within 50 years.}

The text appeared above the station and his eyes went wide. 50 years? Why so long?

A glance at the options made his eyes turn into saucers. What insanity was this?!
