Chapter 1553 - 1552 - The Plan
Chapter 1553 - 1552 - The Plan
Bori slowly opened his eyes. He felt free and powerful. He had just overcome his tribulation to become a Sovereign Tier and it had been powerful but easier than he expected.
The Throne felt closer to him now as well but that was not all. He felt Master! He was able to feel the essence of a phoenix coming from him even from so far away!
The tribulation clouds were clearing away when the True Lord appeared. Oddly, Bori felt no awe or suppression from him. The True Lord did not seem surprised at all.
"Your bloodline is superior to mine. Even as a True Lord, now that you are a Sovereign Tier, you are beyond my power." Bori had never heard of that at all!
Helsgath smiled at him as the pair left the tribulation platform. It was part of Bori's palace grounds yet they flew to a far away destination.
They came to a simple layout of 1 level halls but one of them was protected by high level formations. They walked through them without resistance and found Lind Frey under observation.
"How is his vitality?" Helsgath's question made Bori flinch but the healers bowed before answering.
"It has dropped but also strangely risen. We do not know why." Bori was stunned but Helsgath did not seem surprised.
"So, the enemy helps him but anyone else drains him." Bori instantly understood!
Fiends were consumed to help Lind but others drained him.
If the Great One figured that out, Lind would be in true danger!
"We have little time. When Lind Frey awakens, we need you to help cleanse his soul. After that, he will face another ritual before risking the Rebirth Grounds." Bori's eyes shot wide open as he stared at Helsgath.
The Rebirth Grounds were a last resort for Sovereign Tier phoenixes! Why was his Master using that?!
Helsgath explained all he knew about Lind Frey's condition and it slowly made sense. He could not cultivate normally and it may truly be his last hope.
"What do I need to do?" Bori wanted to help not only because it was his Master but because he helped Jur recover.
Helsgath became grim as he did not hold back.
The dire straits made Bori worry yet his bloodline held the most hope!
"I can do it!" Helsgath smiled at Bori's declaration but it was not so simple. At least 2 grand elders were needed and the True Lord had been rebuffed.
Bori then flew away from the convalescence hall. He found several secluded caverns and Bori did not care about their isolation.
He ripped apart their wards like they were paper. Phoenixes that were millions of years older than him met his superior bloodline. Despite being billions of years old over many lifetimes, they could not resist him!
One was an aged old man but the other was in her true form that spanned nearly beyond his aura.
Her flames were silver while his colors were the milky green of jade. Bori knew just by looking at them what they were.
Pure Phoenixes were marked by silver flames and could rid any impurity or injury from a target. Until Lind Frey, they were the greatest threat to Fiends.
Unlike him, however, their power could be exhausted and left to die like anyone else. Lind's harmony fed on Fiend Qi unlike anything else known.
Still, the Fiends had led harsh campaigns to weed out their bloodline as much as possible.
The fact one stood before him trying to ascend was a miracle.
The other was not nearly as high valued but very powerful at his current realm.
A Jade Phoenix was a bloodline that was almost common until a certain point. Once one of them became Immortal, their flames became ideal for refining high grade items. They were highly sought out to share their flame by any Forger or refiner.
One that was at the peak of the Immortal Realm was basically honored by anyone in those fields no matter how old they were in comparison.
The 2 went from anger to stunned surprise as both their bloodlines commanded them to obey!
"The True Lord Lind Frey needs us and we will answer the call. This is not about phoenix vs dragon anymore. The Fiends are coming for us and they are not intent on waging war any longer. They are looking for extinction." His voice was powerful. He did not exert his bloodline at all, simply his aura alone caused them to tremble.
"Y–y–you upsta–" The Jade Phoenix tried to assert his seniority but Bori only looked at him.
That was all but something in Bori's eyes made the man flinch even more.
"I have seen them, while you hide away here. Do you know what I am?" Both seemed confused but his white flames blazed suddenly.
The Jade Phoenix could no longer look at him but the Pure Phoenix openly wept.
"Soul Flame Phoenix!" Her body shrank until an older but still vital woman appeared in place of the avian form. Her pure silver robes glowed as she knelt before him. "I obey."
Her actions shocked the old man but her words made him go pale.
He quickly knelt as well. Context mattered because a Soul Flame Phoenix was one of the highest bloodlines. Even if it was a Sky Realm in front of them, they would obey!
A Sovereign Tier went without saying then!
"You will prepare for the Soul Cleansing Ritual immediately. True Lord Helsgath is in charge." Bori left the 2 seniors without a chance to even respond. He then returned to Helsgath and the True Lord looked chagrinned.
All his previous difficulties had been so easily resolved by a single move from Bori.
"What else do we need to do?" Bori was earnest now. His previous proud display was not a mask but it was fueled more by his anger at obstinate fools than anything. Helsgath had no such issues at all so far as he could tell.
"The place for the ritual is already available but we will need to get some crystals arranged into slots for the artifact platforms. We will then need a refiner to prepare a few more artifacts that will be consumed in the ritual." Bori nodded but he could do little to help with that.
"Is there anything I can do?" Helsgath nodded and pointed back towards Lind.
"You should be able to help him recover as the Throne responds to you much as it does with me. He recovers via the Dao energy of the flamestone." Bori was shocked but knew what he was being asked to do.
"What exactly do I need to do for the ritual?" While he knew it had to be done, he did not know what to do specifically.
Helsgath nodded but took him back to his study to speak.
"The Soul Cleansing Ritual is both simple and dangerous. The candidate has to allow outsiders inside their defenses. Several of the artifacts help with that, in theory. True Lord Lind Frey's soul is rather unique so we may need his input on any adjustments." Bori saw that as a certainty.
The issue of 6 elementals aside, Lind had a deep insight in how to correct items made under the flawed theories held up as normal for so long.
"Once it begins, the soul will be nurtured until it matures enough to withstand a Divine Ascension. You will know when that happens especially given your race and being a progenitor." Unlike Lind, Bori did still have some race memories. After transforming into a Soul Flame Phoenix, more race memories were unlocked that had previously been denied to him.
Those included memories of the ancestral phoenixes that contributed to his bloodline. Bori had no idea how that mixing of bloodlines happened but in a very real sense it gave him more knowledge than Lind ever had.
A beast soul transformation in a human or demon left them without race memories. They were not always a progenitor but the person did not start out as a beast and thus had no bloodline to tie them to it.
As he now looked into those memories, he did indeed find what he wanted. His ancestor had participated in the ritual before! He saw a golden dais surrounded by raised platforms that looked like they could move around the center area.
Each platform had slots for crystals that shimmered in his memory. The flow of Qi, Laws, and even Dao flowed around all of them as bars of light flowed to the center.
Each occupant of the platforms held various artifacts that seemed to resonate with them and made those bars of light appear.
Bori frowned as his teaching under Lind warned him it would not work for his Master as he currently understood it.
"We need to talk to Master. If what I just saw is how it is supposed to work, we will need far more modifications than you realize." Helsgath was surprised by Bori's race memory but became grim at his words.
"What is wrong exactly?" Helsgath did not try to defend it as it was common knowledge Lind Frey had transformed the very basic theory of the elements dramatically. As his disciple, Bori would have been well taught.
"If I am right, a 6 elemental will be needed as well as complete reworking of the apparatus. It is not just the artifacts, the whole thing will need to be redone!" Both men knew one large problem.
The perfect person to do it currently could not even make a single element move. His new Harmonic Art would also not help. There was nothing wrong with artifacts, they simply had to be changed from the ground up.
A tired sigh left Helsgath but fortunately, they had access to several resources to try and get the help they needed. The road got longer but the end was still in sight.
