Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1543 - 1542 - Relearning Control

Chapter 1543 - 1542 - Relearning Control

The 3 True Lords left him after their meeting as they had their own responsibilities.

Helsgath had to go prepare some kind of explanation or reasoning for Lind to attempt the Rebirth Grounds. Even though he could use his Authority, it would not go well for him if he did.

Unlike dragons or tigers, the other races had a more complex hierarchy with their True Lords. Strength was still the driving factor, but in Helsgath's case, he was relatively young compared to the leaders of the various clans.

While that was technically true of Lind, the trials and accomplishments under his belt gave him unquestioned rule anytime he wished. The reaction of the 4th layer dragon clans proved that.

They actually bent over backwards to fulfill his wishes. A white tiger True Lord supposedly claimed the spot through a massive brawl. He was not sure of anything beyond that but it fit their profile as a race.

Helsgath would have to negotiate with his councils and while normally there would be zero chance, Lind's recent action actually might work in his favor.

The threat had been felt by every Sovereign Tier in the entire 4th layer. Just as his response had been equally felt.

Mira returned with a very stern look. Words were not necessary but he could hear her admonishment clearly anyway.

He spent the next few months doing the most necessary thing, training.

His old Arts and methods were totally locked out. His draconic feats were perfectly fine. Strength, flight, and so forth were all at full strength. Strictly speaking, he was a peak Sovereign Tier with his body alone by strength.

Qi, however, was completely beyond him. Laws might answer him but it would be shoddy and forced at best. Dao, to a very limited degree, would work too but the risks to the 4th layer made that a no go as well.

All that was left was his harmony. Using his harmony alone had some options, like weaving, but could he use it in other ways he had not previously?

His fire breath was more draconic but could he use the harmonic flame like elemental flame?

He started with that. He tried to make his harmony transform and operate like elemental Qi. Flames did appear easily and he could shape them to his will but they could not burn like any of the 3 fire Qi.

His harmony tended to fuse or restore things. Burning it to a cinder outside of his dragon breath did not work. It could also amplify but without an Art or skill in use, it had nothing to amplify save his target's natural abilities!

He then moved on to mimicking other elemental powers but that was a complete bust save one.

Light Qi did respond in his harmonic flames. He examined why and slowly realized that emitted a color needed light Qi to be part of it.

It confused him then why the power of elemental fire did not react until he tried to separate the light Qi from his emerald flames.

The instant he tried to do it, he nearly blacked out! It was not just resistance but severe backlash!

Lind used the Throne Dao energy to recover and was happy to see that it was fairly fast compared to cultivation progress. He attributed it to simply refilling an existing empty tank compared to expanding one.

Once he was back at his peak, he examined what went wrong. His harmony flickered in his hands as he meditated on its aspects. He knew much about it but he had never really tried to pick it apart before.

It was born when 6 Soul Cores condensed in a dantian so pretty much all assumed it was the fusion of the 6 elements but he knew long ago that was wrong. If that was true, every Heaven Realm would form a harmony after acquiring their Secondary Elements.

Some thought it had to be all 6 primary elements but again, Lind had disproved that as Tess had been a normal demon before he took extreme measures to heal her. The result had been the birth of a new 6 elemental demon with a lime green harmony color.

She was no less powerful than any 6 elemental after she acclimated to her new situation.

The soul was part of it and he assumed the key. The harmony was fused to the soul and was constantly being refined. He also knew that a harmony was actually the seed of a future Dao. The reason 6 elementals struggled so much was from that very fact!

Yet, it seemed reversing any piece of the harmony led to severe backlash. Trying to simply use elemental power directly from it also did not work.

Light Qi was just so basic and abundant that he could detect and manipulate it from the very small traces emitted from his flames.

All the other elements were part of the whole.

He had to step back and reconsider what he was trying to do. Harmonic Arts had been considered before but the variation in each individual had made it next to impossible to make true Arts.

Further, it was literally impossible to exclude elemental Qi, Laws, and any other aspects when using a harmony. It would be like asking someone not to breathe running. The body needed air to move it and cultivators needed Qi to use Arts.

Lind, however, was now in the unique situation that he could not use any of it but his harmony. He had to go back to the basics of the old days in the Moebius Sect where he experimented with many others to see what they could do.

The birth of the Storm Arts had come the closest to their own unique set of Arts. Still, they were massively straining on a cultivator to conjure and maintain.

Lind stopped trying to think in terms of element and even Dao, instead he just focused on what his harmony could do.

It could enhance, restore, and adapt. In order to be the Dao of Defiance that was a given. He froze, however, at that realization.

He had never, ever, heard of the Dao of Enhancement, Restoration, Adaptation. The restore aspect was usually thought of under regrowth but that was wrong. Regrowth only referred to living things, but Lind could restore the power to artifacts and other inanimate objects!

He nurtured many tool spirits thanks to his harmony as well!

Life, in essence, was an act of defiance as well!

Yet, he was not naturally aligned with the Dao of Life until he grasped in a Divine Inheritance. His emerald eyes went wide as he realized how little he had studied the foundation of his harmony.

He had always focused on the overall effects or combinations with his other skills! It suddenly made sense why he was such a prodigious Maester! His harmony pushed his creation to the next grade all on its own!

"If that is true, then I am going about this all wrong. Our failure in Harmonic Arts was because we kept trying to make it comply like an element when it is made up of so much more." Lind's words felt like lightning striking and even the Heaven's rumbled!

He was surprised but nothing else happened. Was he right then?

Lind turned his attention to his emerald flames and summoned a World Stone. Soul Stones were just not with him anymore at all but it was safe to experiment on the lower grade items.

It was a Fire World Stone so he placed it on the bed in front of him and began his experiment. Instead of just bathing it in his flames, he tried to do a very specific effect.

The sensation of his harmony changed as it became fainter but more potent. The Fire World Stone shimmered but then slowly began to change! Lind felt its aura rise and in his excitement he put too much energy in it!

It crumbled to dust right in front of his eyes! He was not frustrated at all but began many tests with all kinds of items.

The lower the grade, the more dramatic the effect. It was also far easier to destroy them if he overlooked aspects of something complex like an artifact. Herbs, crystals, Qi Stones, and everything could be enhanced by him alone!

There were still limits, he was not changing the base material source afterall. A World Stone could be nurtured to nearly a Heaven Stone but would shatter or crumble after that.

Crystals shattered if he took them only 1 grade above. Artifacts could be made more profound or improve their grade but they became more unstable as well. He had to enhance the materials but the Forging or refining process made that very difficult.

Lind was happy though, as he now had a path forward. It was all about practice and control!

He then worked on the other things he had sensed but it was very slow progress. It would take years to get it right and nothing else could help him unless he mastered it.

He would succeed and truly master his harmony at last!
