Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1540 - !539 - All is One

Chapter 1540 - !539 - All is One

Lind was told that for the last 60 years his body had passively absorbed the Daos flowing in the Throne of Living Flame. It restored him and he could sense he could cultivate but he frowned.

How was that possible? While, theoretically, a cultivator could grasp just about any Dao, some were tied to race.

Bestial aspects that were part of Dao, for instance, could never be truly understood by other races.

The white tiger bloodline had the ability to use the Instantaneous Rend Dao. It seemed like it should be understood by other races but many humans and demons had wasted their lives trying to achieve it.

The black shelled tortoise bloodline Endless Endurance Dao. It was not the same as the Endurance Dao. The tortoise had a lifespan that made most races weep.

The phoenix bloodline had the Fire of Rebirth Dao. It was a given no other race could touch on any variation of it.

Dragons were slightly different as they were not tied to an element or a physical aspect. It was actually the Dao of Dominion.

It was a strange one but unique once more to their race. The Dao of Domain all races could pursue, but only dragons could claim full dominion.

A dragon could impose their elemental alignment onto an area or whatever Laws they chose to be their primary ones.

All of that was an example of Daos only the native race could grasp, so why was he able to absorb the Daos that made up the Throne of Living Flame?

He looked at the 3 True Lords and an idea came to him.

"If you have a race specific Dao, use it now. Just let it out with your aura." They all knew what he was testing and assumed the lotus position as they cultivated.

While not as intense as the Throne, 3 different auras imbued with Dao filled the room. Lind then called on his harmony once more.

Shockingly, not only did he absorb the 3 Daos, but he also felt something shift in his harmony with the new additions! He was not just converting the energy but the Daos were being incorporated themselves!

Lind stopped and contemplated what that meant. His harmony and Dao of Defiance had allowed him to do the impossible already. He had added the 2 other elemental systems to his foundation.

It required him to rebuild his body with that in mind but he felt no issue as the Daos were absorbed into it like he had with the elements. It had previously been a delicate and dangerous process but now, he felt like it was as easy as breathing!

Could his nodes allow him to absorb Daos normally restricted by bloodlines?

"Impossible but still happening, it seems." Helsgath spoke what they were all thinking but LInd summoned his harmonic flames. He let his Dao actually flow outward and unlike his nodes, it worked perfectly.

It was only the sudden sound of someone falling that made him look up in surprise to see Van and Kaltara barely staying upright while Helsgath collapsed.

He had not gone full force but all 3 True Lords were clearly barely holding on. Lind compared the density, quality, and quantity of energy but it did not seem much different to him.

Still, he stopped exuding the Dao and the 3 recovered quickly.

"Is there a rating to Daos?" His innocent question seemed to shock the 3 before Kaltara put a hand to her forehead. Her stout frame shook with laughter.

"Of course! You are a progenitor so you do not have a race memory yourself!" Lind looked up with hope but it was Van that suddenly held up his hand.

"There are rules. We are only Immortals and while we 3 may have the ability to discuss things, there is no way Lind can–" Another restriction seemed in coming but Kaltara then kicked him in the shins.

"Fool of a bird! He had full Dao grade elemental Nodes and his Dao is that terrifying, of course he can handle it! Listen Little Lind, your Dao of Defiance is likely an Eternal grade Dao." The instant he heard that classification, he felt a throb in his head.

It was not too bad but he was mystified as to why the grade should hurt him so.

As if sensing his discomfort, Van chopped Kaltara on the head.

"I told you it would not be that easy! Revealing that Daos are graded is not something an Immortal can take!" He did not feel that bad but he knew where the discomfort came from. Heaven and Earth restricted knowledge of major realms.

It seemed the revelation of an Eternal Grade was not something he was supposed to know yet.

Still, it did not give him much context. He was about to ask when Helsgath suddenly began to bleed from his nose.

He almost fell to his knees when Lind caught him.

"It seems we cannot say anymore." The other 2 looked at Helsgath with pity but nodded.

"Suffice to say, your harmonic Dao is terrifying for several reasons. The chief reason, though, is that it is what we would call an ultimate Dao. There is no higher grade." Lind grasped what Van was saying.

Eternal Grade was the peak. There was a 9th grade! A realm beyond the Divine Realm!

Still, that answer gave him the answer to his question.

The reason his Dao of Defiance could use the race specific Daos was due to the fact it stood at the peak! Yet, he did not like that answer.

Greater power was one thing but compatibility had nothing to do with power.

He was a dragon now but he was also human originally. The transformation had not been immediate but over time. He had also rebuilt a body in the Spirit World. Many pieces had come together yet did not explain his current ability.

He fell into a contemplative state as he tested various aspects of his harmony. It was elusive and ill defined since there was no record of it before. Many cultivators claimed to defy Heaven and Earth to advance, but none had learned the Dao of Defiance.

If Daos also had a grading scale he quickly learned something shocking.

All 6 elementals had extremely powerful Daos!

They struggled so much in the Soul to Sky Realms but it made sense if the Dao seed of their harmony was of a very high grade!

It made so much sense now! If Heaven and Earth were fair, it was no wonder 6 elementals struggled so much! Such power was not to be trifled with!

A smooth path would leave little respect for such profound power. Further, a smooth rise would make such cultivators arrogant. They would rely too much on their harmony and neglect the rest of their foundation.

Lind then contemplated the various harmonies he knew of. Color indicated a slant to them but it was not absolute. There were variances in harmonies as well. Now that he knew Daos were graded, he added that to his understanding.

Yet, it left a mystery. He knew already that aside from him, many other harmonies would not have the effect his did.

He had studied his harmony and elements more than anyone before him. He had succeeded where others had failed. He had even added other elemental systems to his cultivation but Dao was still hard for him to grasp.

Even though he could summon a Dao Weapon, he still knew he was a novice. He then tried something audacious.

He took the new Daos he had just felt and tried to use them! They answered his call! It was only surface level, but they were there!

Lind then scrunched up his face as he tried to understand the reason he could benefit from Daos like he had elements.

It could not be as simple as his Dao being a barrier breaking power. It was not that easy! Heaven and Earth were fair. If that was true, then he was missing something.

It was only at that moment that he had a dangerous idea.

Eternal Grade Dao was powerful but was there more to it? Could there be even more variety inside a grade like with his professions?

Even then, it did not explain his ability to cross race barriers. There had to be a reason and it had to be something related to his approach.

His emerald eyes snapped open as an idea occurred to him!

He used his harmony once more to expand his aura but rather than collect energy, he simply felt it.

He felt the Throne around him and realized what he had missed! All of existence was sourced from Heaven and Earth! No matter what form it took, the origin was the same! His Dao of Defiance was in line with that aspect!

All were one!

If the basis of all Dao was Heaven and Earth, then a Dao that touched on that foundation would be able to take in everything!

Eternal Grade was not the only answer to his question but the aspect itself!

Defiance was not just breaking fate but a fundamental Dao! It was Dao that broke all barriers! It did not distinguish between elements, Laws , or Daos!

Lind felt humbled once more as he understood even less about his harmony than before!
