Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1508 - 1507 - Reformation

Chapter 1508 - 1507 - Reformation

Lind knew Ruins were partial pieces of Inheritances. In essence, it was possible to find Ruins related to each other but they were almost never in the same realm.

In a very real way, Inheritances were imbued with the living will of a cultivator. Like all living things, it will strive to live in the face of death. Thus Ruins were born as the energies tried to maintain their functions.

The pieces that survived fell to lower realms or simply appeared where the Inheritance once stood depending on the conditions. It was a random process to say the least.

Yet, for there to be stability, there had to be a functioning core at the very least or nothing would work.

Just like his skyships and starships, the many artifacts had to be tied to a main power core or central processing core. Otherwise, they were glorified paperweights!

A Ruin was vastly more complex. The main reason they collapsed was the lack of support to replenish what was expended. It took a very long time, but eventually, the original artifacts would cease to function that maintained the isolated space.

Lind now looked behind the veil of the current Ruin he had come to. The auditorium of Dao Spheres, as he now called them, was but one piece of the Ruin.

The elven spirit took him to a wall that looked as smooth as glass but when she shimmered, it cracked open like a sliding door! There were no sounds as it silently slid aside but the feeling of Dao increased!

Any other Immortal would be crushed by the weight of it or turn out like the poor bastard that escaped, but Lind was perfectly fine.

[Master, what is an elf?] Haro suddenly caught him off guard but the question only confused him. He clearly pictured the more fantastical elves he knew of. George alone had made him watch so much anime he had a plethora of images to pull from.

The pair walked on as Haro seemed to contemplate something.

[Master, I believe the creator of this Ruin was also reborn from your world. There is no such race in the Divine Lands.] Lind narrowed his eyes.

That made no sense at first but then he realized he had never heard of a race outside of the ones he knew. Humans existing on another world had not seemed odd to him as it was just a matter of the right conditions but now that he thought of it, why were there no fantasy races at all?

They were humanoid and surely the right conditions in the higher realms would allow various forms since Elementals did not really exist until the Heaven Realm land.

Aether children were unique to mortal realms too for manifestation. They might appear in the Heaven Realm lands but they were more due to barren conditions the mimicked the mortal realms in that sense.

Celestials were possibly the original inhabitants but he had zero proof for such a theory. Aether children were born like aether beasts. The environment was how they were formed and he had seen the start of that journey.

Still, he refused to believe all of existence was full of humans alone. Statistics alone bore that out as the number of animal species was across the spectrum. There had to be humanoid races that did not conform to the human race template.

So why were there none in the realms he lived in? Haro also confirmed the Divine Lands had no such races. He tried the other fantasy staples but everything was negative.

Yet, the more mythological beasts did exist. Dragons, qilin, nine tail foxes, and so forth all were known to Haro!

The incongruity struck something in him. It felt wrong but he could not say why it suddenly seemed important when he had a massive task ahead of him.

After walking for what seemed days, the spirit brought him to a room that spoke to him as a professional crafter.

Glowing lines of Qi flowed through crystal, metal, and more as displays and other controls surrounded a small ball of light. It flickered through all 12 elements known between humans and demons!

He quickly examined the controls but not everything made sense to him. In fact, a few of them made his eyes start to bleed just glancing at them! He sighed as the room clearly was beyond him but not all of it.

The core was not beyond him and it was what he hoped it would be. It was not only a power source but a regulator!

The reason the Ruin had a limit was the regulator enacted those limitations! He also felt something lift from him when he came inside the room.

It was like the world was more solid to him now.

[Master, that feeling is correct. This place is a Divine Ruin and thus the restrictions are mostly lifted in here. You cannot use a Dao Weapon but your full power of Forging and other professions should not face any issue.] Haro only confirmed his feelings.

"What can you do, Lind Frey?" The spirit looked conflicted but he smiled as he let his full aura flare. Shock spread on her face as she understood just how powerful he was! "Why are you still in the 4th layer?!"

He could only shrug.

"I went too far in one sense but I am still only a Sovereign Tier at my foundation. I don't get to skip ahead without reaching the peak." It was the final anchor. He had to become a peak Sovereign Tier and refine his soul as well.

When those were complete, he could face his ascension.

He turned back to the sphere and let his aura surge forth. The elements danced intricately inside the light. He saw the complex mechanism and could only marvel at some of their purposes.

He was not able to do much but he could do enough now that he had understood the structures. He was not going to touch the ability of the sphere but he was going to redirect it.

He began to touch on the various flows of power and felt the strain in his dantian. The sphere tried to pull all his power at once! He only just stopped it in time!

[I am going to need all of you to help me.] The 3 spirits responded and he felt their power flare as well.

The elven spirit went from shock to falling down! She had not realized the person in front of her had 3 Divine Spirits!

She had access to levels of knowledge that would destroy Lind where he stood but nothing in her records had what she saw!

Lind controlled the Daos flowing into him with great difficulty. He needed to prevent future issues and he saw only one way to do that.

He finally found what he was looking for near the very heart of the structure. It was a jade stone the size of a human heart. It was elegantly nestled next to the main regulator and shimmered with more than just Qi.

It had the traces of a soul!

It was mostly the intent left behind by its creator but it was what he needed! Sigils began to sprout in the air but it was unlike anything he had ever created before. He did not need an attack, defense, or support, but a bridge!

To give it a comparison, he had to hack the core and the CPU was in front of him!

The traces made the sigils connect so densely that they were almost solid emerald! Small traces finally reached out and touched the jade stone.

He was instantly slammed backward but held his control of the bridge. Information flooded his mind but it was too much. Further, concepts he was not ready for started to fracture his soul!

It was going to tear him apart!

"If you are still there, any part of you, the Ruin will be destroyed unless there is a change. Let me help her." The elven spirit snapped her head at his words but the reaction from the core pulled her back.

A faint figure appeared. A wizened old man stooped over with an ornate cane just barely formed. He looked at her and smiled a gentle smile.

Tears fell down her pale cheeks as 2 words slammed into Lind.

[Access granted.]

The figure winked at him and vanished! The pressure completely disappeared with it! Lind breathed a sigh of relief but did not pause to recover more than he needed. Time was not on his side!

The forces outside would not wait forever!

His fingers danced in the air as he identified the parts he needed. The spirit looked on but now a smile graced her face as she bowed low to him.

"Creator, there is another." He heard her but could not respond. He was too busy shifting a few parameters around until it finally clicked into place.

He moved several pathways as gently as he could as sweat poured down his back. His dantian was not running dry since he could actually use Dao, but keeping it under control was draining his mental reserves swiftly.

The final path change slid into place and the entire room shifted. Lind collapsed as a storm of Dao flooded outward. He hoped it would work but he had nothing left to give.

Darkness closed in and he knew nothing else for a time after that.
