Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1422 - 1421 - Convocation

Chapter 1422 - 1421 - Convocation

Lind let the delegates settle for just a few days, enough to enjoy what the Throne of Defiance could offer, before he called the Convocation to begin.

It was tactical as it was clear his Throne was a great resource so it would be unwise to push things too far but the fact remained a major point of the Convocation would cause outright rage.

He stood before a massive double door set into crystal. Unlike the halls, he had to use something a bit different for the upcoming meeting. It had not existed before and afterwards it would be gone.

To make a temporary space to hold all the delegates and support staff, he had used the maximum expansion of space he could but only the harmonic crystal native to the Emerald Roost worked.

Inside he found a room already in chaos. They did not even notice his entrance save the 2 other True Lords hiding behind a screen. They seemed completely disgusted with what they saw too but he did nothing to stop it.

He simply walked through with a perception filter hiding his presence. It was far more efficient with the added benefit that people made way for him without actually interacting with him.

The 2 True Lords seemed keenly interested in how he did that but he simply ascended the stage and observed all that was going on.

It was mostly just random, yet he could see the factions Evie had told him about. Cultivators that gave off the stench of herbs and essence extraction were standing side by side with those of ash and metal.

He saw humans and demons looking haughty with very fine robes standing apart from the rest. The disdain as they looked at aether children and beasts did not take much to show them as a Supremacy Faction in more ways than one.

He saw familiar faces so that denoted that faction easy enough to him.

The beasts were the most interesting. He could pick apart those that had benefited from the Sovereign Lands from the Under Lands but they did not separate perfectly like the others.

Tigers and other similar races mingled. Barbatos was embracing a golden robed man like a long lost brother. A shiver went down his spine as the pair smiled at each other. Another battle maniac for certain!

There were some groups that stood to the side. His instincts identified 2 that clearly followed the 2 other True Lords. He glanced at them and while the Roc True Lord looked annoyed, the Tortoise True Lord was simply scratching her cheek in embarrassment.

The last group seemed to be a mix of the others but their eyes were strange. They seemed to have an air of superiority but different from the Supremacy Faction. He also felt an affinity to them.

It only took a moment as he saw very familiar weapons and artifacts on them. They were products from the Frey Clan that specialized against Fiends!

Their focused faces made it clear they had but one purpose and did not care for the various groups fighting each other.

[Junior Brother, you are not going to call the Convocation to order?" The Tortoise True Lord spoke in his mind but he shook his head.

[They will not listen to words.] He looked at them with a smile that spoke of centuries of enduring politics and saw a perfect reflection in both their eyes. Despite the vast difference in age, race, and experience, at that moment the 3 True Lords were one.

All 3 had their auras explode outward. The crystals in the room resonated with Lind as well so everyone was slammed into the floor. There were no exceptions as no one tried to prevent the fighting so they were equally guilty.

It was only for a breath but the silence that followed made it clear. Some looked embarrassed as they realized how they had been acting, but many others were incensed.

"Who dares–?!" A young man spoke up but the dragons all pinned him in place with their auras. That action alone told everyone whose aura that was!

[Enough! The Convocation is now called. Take your seats and silently wait till we are done speaking.]

Lind heard the Roc True Lord's voice. He also finally saw both True Lords become serious as they dropped the screen hiding them on the stage. He also dispersed his perception filter.

The appearance of the True Lords so clearly having watched them made many blush even more than before.

The dragons, as a whole, knelt immediately which only made the other races look on in stunned awe. The other beast races, however, understood.

Two groups in particular mimicked them but seemed far more well known among the other powers.

One set each bowed to the 2 True Lords behind him. Lind felt them sigh in his mind but only his.

Lind looked around and saw all were finally settled into their respective seats or areas.

"I will not pretend this will go well. It is clear some will listen while others are here to deny what cannot be stopped. I will not hide or allow incorrect information to continue. The Under Lands will be restored due to the arrival of 6 elementals. Your Grand Array does not affect us." Many grumbled but Lind turned to Ethry and Annabelle.

They produced jade slips that flew to all.

It was not just the results from the 4th layer but all the history of 6 elementals and the corrected elemental theory.

It also included the result that traditional inscriptions and other normal defenses crumbled not to power but due to the elemental weakness due to the incorrect foundation.

Lind did not stop there as he looked at the Harmonic Dragons in the room.

[Duel them.] His words were heard by all but the Shard Tier dragons instantly lashed out at the dragon delegations. As if expecting it, the dragons responded in kind.

All watched as what should have been a one sided massacre with Radiant and Sovereign Tiers attacking back, was actually nearly even!

As a duel, no one was going all out but it was clear to all auras what was happening.

The Harmonic Dragons were far more powerful! Yet, they still had limits so far as raw power went. What shocked many was that their defensive artifacts and other items used to protect them failed instantly due to even incidental strikes from the Harmonic Dragons while the far more powerful other dragon delegates could only strain them!

Lind stopped them as the practical demonstration backed up the data handed out.

"As many of you thought the Grand Array was failing, instead it simply cannot stop the Qi being generated by the 6 elementals. Our harmonies were never covered by it but they are as profound as any elemental Qi." He then explained how it was happening not just in the Under Lands but everywhere.

The Throne of Defiance was extreme and influenced by him but other rich areas could begin to manifest all over the 4th layer.

Eyes lit up at that at least but all knew it would take a long time. Still, the disruptive factions became more restrained. The evidence pointed to an unstoppable event that no one could hoard.

They all understood the suppression of the Under Lands was coming to an end one way or another.

"Now, before diving into negotiations, I have one more point to clarify on. My Throne is as you have found it in only 2000 years but like all other Thrones, it is immune to the Grand Array. Further, I will not allow settlement of it. It is solely for the Harmonic Dragons to develop as they see fit." This announcement was far less incendiary.

Most of the Thrones were treated that way. Yet, some realized something in his words that caused some grumbling.

"You speak as if you are not the ruler here?" A man with thick dark fur spoke up. His sleek body was clearly only a partial transformation but benefited from the humanoid form combined with the agility of a wolf type beast.

Lind smiled before pointing behind him.

"I am the True Lord of the dragon race. While I am a Divine Progenitor as well, that status is below the former. I am guiding my race for now but they will soon stand on their own." The other beast races seemed to relax at those words while the other races were confused.

The Roc and Tortoise True Lords nodded in approval.

"Now that is out of the way–" Lind was about to move on but as expected, the factions were now ready to leap out.

The young man with bright red hair stood up. He had bright robes made of what seemed to be jewels. While gaudy, it was clearly peak Law Grade artifacts turned into robes. Lind found it wasteful as so many artifacts could not work together like that.

It was clearly done to show off.

"If you are not going to lead then why do you have a voice here? True Lords are not in command of anything but the races they are assigned to!" His tanned face was smiling like he had revealed a harsh truth.

He looked like he expected instant agreement from all but the dead silence confused him. He looked and saw almost pitying looks from those near him while more animosity looked from farther out.

[I bet he is from the Morphan Empire. They believe the other races should serve humankind.] The Tortoise True Lord sounded exhausted but Lind acted instantly.

He merely waved his hand and the boy was pulled into his grip! None could stop him but more shocking was his robes failed as well!

"I gave you a demonstration so you would understand, but your petty decorations are just jewels to my power. I may not assume leadership of the Throne but I established it and I am stronger than you. Do you have any further objection to me leading this meeting?" Lind never raised his voice nor did more than hold the boy's throat gently.

The youth squirmed but did not seem to grasp he was in danger.

"True Lord! Please let my son go! He is not–" A man stepped forward but Lind locked his emerald gaze at the older man. His robes were not as bad as the boy's but still heavily threaded with artifacts.

"I will make my stance clear. This Convocation will not be a place to posture but to make real progress. Idiocy will be met with harsh consequences." Lind finally let his aura flare and the boy screamed in pain.

A few moments passed and he tossed the boy at the older man. He still breathed but all realized his cultivation was entirely sealed in a way no one understood!

"That was the final warning. The next interruption will be crippled permanently. After that, you die." Lind could not show weakness to the powers around him. Harsh consequences were the only way to make them take him and the meeting seriously.

Everyone there suddenly understood what the jade slips and duels were for. It was not proof but a warning!

None of their treasures and artifacts could save them! Anger flared but silence reigned.

"Good, now we will begin." Lind smiled but it did not reach his eyes. The gentle being of rumor was totally absent as the True Lord of Dragons stood before them. He was in charge and none could defy him.
