Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1410 - 1409 - Waiting for Rescue?

Chapter 1410 - 1409 - Waiting for Rescue?

"Let me out! I have a purpose and a mate to fulfill! I must go forth and multiply!" The hoarse voice of the prismatic divine ryuu grated on Ethry's ears. She had met spoiled brats by the barrel in her long life but the current one made all of them ashamed to call themselves young masters.

The foolish boy still believed the Stonehide Clan was going to help him?

He was chained to a wall underground and his cultivation sealed. Something that smelled at least a month old and rotten was given as food for him and her. She thanked the spirits that Lind taught her many tricks with dragon anatomy to suppress her hunger and to store resources for later.

It had limits but it meant she was at full strength after months of capture while the boy was becoming clearly ill.

She was running low on resources though. Maybe a few weeks at best and then she would have to eat as well with her cultivation sealed.

Still, she smirked as her chains had become mostly for show. The collar was a problem because she could not see it but the issue was going to be resolved as she could feel him coming closer.

Lind was coming!

She was not waiting for him to rescue her, he would make the best distraction! In fact, she smelled the tension rise as apparently attempts to stop him had not just failed but been ignored!

Idiots, Lind was single minded about family true, but he was not tunnel visioned or easily distracted. If he thought for even a second he could save her by attacking people, he would do it, but only if no other recourse remained.

Barring that, he would slice through all leads like a hot knife through butter. The most dangerous thing about Lind Frey was not his foundation, Arts, or elemental power. It was his mind.

What many cultivators took millennia to grasp, Lind seemed to process it in days! He had completely ripped apart the accepted foundation of elemental theory when he was only at the World Realm!

She sensed someone approaching and even the spoiled brat became silent as he had been beaten several times for his shouting by the familiar scent entering her nose.

She smirked as a feeling of unease was conveyed by that scent now.

A loud clunk was followed by the screech of metal on metal as a massive door swung open at the far end of the cell. It was all intentional as the sound was far worse for beasts.

Ethry could not do much about it but she had faced far worse attacks.

"It would seem the True Lord is more formidable than we planned but still predictable. He has started to come this way after confirming you were not being hidden in the Divine Ryuu Clan. A waste of time as the bond should still be felt by him." The large man sneered at her as he walked in.

The scars on his face and arms revealed the lifetime of battle he had overcome. The Stonehide Clan were obsessed with scars. It showed they had lived on the edge of life and death.

The peak Sovereign Tier aura suppressed her a bit but with her cultivation sealed she had become used to it. An almost approving flash went through his dark eyes while scorn filled them when he turned his head.

"A Divine Son, eh? You were trained to live and fight like a true dragon but you are as bad as a human. They squirm and squeal about their destinies as they die like anyone else. I may hate the beast soul, but he at least has proven to be worthy to kill." Her rage rose but she kept a lid on it.

Baiting. He was absolutely baiting her. They were not complete fools. They knew who her Sisters were and that there was a chance they missed something in her capture. Her healthy state was impossible to hide but at least it could be understood.

He blurred suddenly and the stench of blood filled the air as a hoarse scream followed. The clink of chains was then drawing her eyes as she saw an arm flap wetly onto the dark stone floor.

His arm! He ripped his arm off!

The wailing continued and begging for mercy. Ethry felt a strong distaste for them both.

The Stonehide Clan were monsters but the boy was an Immortal! Dragons can roar in pain but weeping? Begging?

She would accept death before that happened. Sudden silence descended as a head rolled across the stone floor.

The disbelieving look lasted only a moment as a soul emerged. It was so weak! Just what had the boy been doing during his cultivation? Beasts are able to advance far more powerfully than other races!

"So, the rumors were true. You had others bring you flesh and bone but did not really train yourself. What do those humans call it? Pill fed, no Pill Foundation cultivator." Ethry did not hide her disdain.

In many beast packs, such a being would be killed outright. How had a dragon been allowed to come that far that way?!

[My Moth–] The petulant boy never finished his sentence as his soul began to disintegrate. It was not an action by the Stonehide Clan, it was simply the natural flow of events.

He wailed and begged once more but no one could save him now. He had not built up his foundation and thus his soul was weak. It could not survive. Anyone cultivating knew that truth.

The soul and crystal become one, but the foundation must be solid or the soul that emerged would not live long.

Still, Ethry did not miss her chance as the Stonehide Clan was distracted but just how abysmal the boy had been.

She shimmered as her hands transformed. Qi was not needed for that but many beasts believed it was. Full transformation yes, but simply converting existing flesh was far easier.

Shock was on his face and his hand shot to his belt but she struck his heart. Warm blood flowed like a river as she crushed his heart. His skin, that his Clan was so proud of, had not even slowed her down.

He was about to sneer at her when her clawed foot shattered his dantian. He was still alive!

Without the dantian, his soul would be unable to separate and reform!

He had been focused on his body death when he should have protected his soul! The life left his eyes as she stood bloodied over him. His hand was still reaching for the pouch at his waist.

She deftly picked it up and quickly examined it before smirking.

"Fools, imprints are not enough anymore to stop theft." She quickly inscribed several arrays and the Qi rich blood activated them for her. The pouch burst and an artifact resonated with the collar on her neck!

She smashed it to pieces and a click was heard before the collar fell away. Qi flowed into her like a river and her hunger vanished.

She saw him still trying to cling to life but a prismatic blade wiped him from existence. He would never be reborn!

Roars suddenly filled the air and she smiled as she began to transform.

"You dared to take me prisoner? You need to study your history better. Lind Frey is a terrifying man but his wives are far more dangerous than he could ever hope to be!" She summoned a jade crystal and crushed it!

Her exact location was revealed but she tore through space and appeared above a sunken city in the dirt. Light crystals showed a massive cavern overhead inscribed with ancient arrays.

The power was far above her but that was not what she cared about at the moment. She wanted to make them understand that she was no damsel waiting for her husband to come get her.

By the time Lind arrived, he would just find a smoking hole in the ground!

Lind's ship was slicing through the air once more but it suddenly slowed down. In fact, it almost came to a stop. Various spies and other far scrying powers finally caught up to him but were confused.

Why had he stopped in the wilderness? There was nothing out there save a massive forest of wild beasts and bandits.

There were no fixed pieces of land but he emerged from his strange vessel and summoned a tea set!

He was calmly brewing tea on a pale wooden table and humming to himself!

Some dared to get close enough and they saw him smirking of all things?! What was going on?! Why was he no longer rushing to save his wife?

He was wide open but not a single power felt safe to attack!

It was like a trap so clear that all knew to trip it would bring their doom!

Lind, ignored them all and merely reveled in the sensations of his bond going full blast. Ethry had gotten free but explicitly told him to wait.

Lind had made a grave mistake when he became a Radiant Tier but even then there was one rule no one of his children or grandchildren would ever make in the Frey Clan.

Never, ever, interfere when one of the Founder's wives goes on a rampage.
