Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1367 - 1366 - Two Tribulations

Chapter 1367 - 1366 - Two Tribulations

Lind felt it suddenly before his tribulation was about to begin.

Something shifted and the bolt about to fall paused. It was like Heaven and Earth was shocked by something. What was going on?

He closed his eyes and his aura soared outward, far past what most would consider the limit of any Radiant Tier. They would be right.

He may not be able to use the full limit of his power but the effects on his skills was undeniably far above Radiant Tier limits.

He found his answers in the Icy Path. Fey had done something that invoked the Wrath of Heaven and Earth.

He traced it back and smiled.

He could not see it, of course, but the power was so far above him the destination was clear. The feeling of the Great One in his tribulation vanished and so did the others. Lind sighed in contentment but then frowned.

His lightning was building in power once again but it had become pure white!

"Sigh, Fey, I love you but you could not have made this harder for us both." He spoke aloud for his own sake. He did note that the forces were breaking down his ward but they were too late.

[Lina, get out of here. This will exceed the limits of the platform.] The first 9 bolts should be still within tolerance but the tribulations after that would get truly nasty compared to that start. He changed his skin to scales as it was going to be rough to begin.

He was about to retract his aura when his eyes narrowed. He realized both his and Fey's tribulations were in sync!

"Oh Hell–" He felt the pressure spike and a pure white bolt slammed into him. He felt warm and a bit of pressure but that was all. The platform, however, was scorched heavily and the Immortal Qi stones crumbled to dust!

He had been severely wrong about the power of his first 9 rounds!

The boiling black clouds seemed to get denser in anger at the ease of his first clash. Lind focused on recovery even for the minor damage he took. He knew keeping to his peak would increase his odds of getting through.

The 2nd bolt hurt but only as much as a full on punch from Chu or Ethry would be. They were the only ones whose natural strength could affect him. Things progressed until the 6th bolt in that fashion until the platform exploded.

All the resources he invested into protecting the peaks came to nothing at that moment.

The truncated peak was doing better but the stone was cracking. He had no time to spare as a massive 7th white bolt finally made him bleed. His insides were damaged and his regeneration was barely keeping up.

He used an elixir quickly as he had no time as the Heavens seemed hell bent on crushing him now. Whether that was due to his severing his fate or being a True Lord, he had no idea but he faced it head on!

The 8th bolt slammed him into the stone surface and into it! He heard the snap of a few joints but it could have been worse. He quickly flew up and sped his regeneration along with the remains of the Recovery Elixir he had downed.

The final bolt was taking its time but it was just the beginning and both parties knew it. The color suddenly shifted!

He had not known there was something beyond white but he felt actual danger from the current bolt. Danger to the extent he could die! He conjured a shield directly with all his power as well as using body reinforcing Arts.

A lightning bolt that seemed to swallow the light of the world struck his elemental shield like it was a hot knife through butter! It was Celestial Qi!

The fraction of a moment the shield bought was enough for him to grasp the danger and he shifted his defenses just barely in time.

He was nearly sent flying off the plateau but crumpled at the very edge. Blood pooled beneath him as he was now stark naked. His robes had been incinerated by the last bolt.

He took painful breaths as he slowly sat up. He quickly summoned more elixirs but he also examined his arms. The sigils and inscriptions were perfectly fine.

[They will be excluded, Master. You are the one facing the tribulation, not us.]

Haro's reassurance made him realize his ring had never been so much as singed until the one time Haro interfered.

He was glad of that but worried about the next tribulations. According to his studies, he would now face the Law Tribulation. While know many Laws improves an Immortal, it makes their step into the Sovereign Tier a much higher hurdle.

He was about to get up when he realized the clouds were broiling but the need to progress was somehow on pause. He quickly checked on Fey and saw she was behind him!

She was struggling with golden tribulation lighting but her platform seemed perfectly fine! He quickly looked around the local peaks and was in awe of the destruction.

The nears peaks were just gone! The flat top was now isolated with a moat of dust and broken spears of stone. He had mitigated the damage to the mountain beneath him but the others took the brunt of the shockwaves!

He was about to check on Lina when he felt an odd build of pressure above. He narrowed his eyes and realized a shocking fact.

His and Fey's tribulations had merged for the next step!

"Of course, we are ascending with highly similar paths. The Law Tribulation has too much overlap." He had never heard of such an event recently but it was theorized by experts. Sects often practice similar Arts and Laws.

It was considered wise to avoid ascending at the same time with anyone similar to your own path.

He had no idea what to do as the pressure was already spiking but he realized both Fey and he were facing the same first bolt of Life Law!

A bright green bolt slammed into him and his soul shivered as his dantian strained. The Laws of Life had had grasped were already very powerful after going through the 2 Inheritances related to them.

The tribulation pushed the Laws beyond and he had to enforce his will on the world to master them or have them run wild in his crystal's foundation.

Thankfully, he was a healer for so long and a creator of many things that he was able to temper the advanced Laws. He already felt changes but was given no time as the bolts continued.

Time became a blur but he was able to see that Fey was doing better than him that time. Compared to him, her Laws were more focused.

He wondered if the joint tribulation would continue but he had to focus as the more powerful Laws of Death started.

Unlike the others, he had not been through the Inheritance of Death. So, despite his vast experience in war, the void, and other such dark matters, he felt his crystal creak as he tried to curtail the improved Laws.

His shining crystal seemed on the verge of cracking when Abby suddenly appeared.

"Stop picking on Master!" Panic filled him as the tribulation suddenly became different. It was no longer focused on him but on her!

"NO!" He acted instantly. His body was battered but he saw the punishment lightning ready to obliterate Abby and took it himself. The world dimmed briefly but he felt the Laws of Oblivion actually improve!

Abby screamed but Haro forcibly pulled her back. Lind had not known he could do that yet he had no time to ponder it as he had to take an elixir while he could.

The cool feeling barely started when the Laws of Death were struck next! He felt his crystal crack! He was on the knife edge of his life but oddly the Laws of Oblivion mitigated the damage at that moment.

The clouds rumbled with anger and it was clear the Heavens did not appreciate his protecting Abby nor was it giving him time to process anything as the Laws of Nihility came down next.

Lind coughed up blood as his crystal barely held together. His meridians were frayed but still holding on as he quickly cycled Qi to repair his body.

The sky rumbled and he knew his professions' Laws were next. He had been more confident about them but his current state was the most dangerous he had ever been in.

He risked draining his usable elemental Qi to swiftly nurture his harmony to repair the crystal. It just barely smoothed over as the Laws of True Fire slammed him face first into the stone surface.

It was not as painful but he simply could not resist like he could before.

Time became chaotic until he realized he had not felt a bolt of lightning for some time. He cracked his eyes barely open with all the blood caked on them and felt his crystal was far stronger than before!

His Laws had all improved!

He had to use his aura to down another elixir but the 2 tribulations had finally separated. He noted it down but now the worst of it was in front of him.

The progenitor and True Lord tribulations were his alone to face. Fey would likely face something else as well as she was recognized officially as the Goddess of Life and Death but that was a vastly different path from him.

He mentally wished her luck as he quickly downed 2 more elixirs to improve his foundation strength and his soul stability.

Yet, he felt a new tribulation forming and realized he had made an error.

There was one more Law tribulation he had to face. Or rather, one Dao Tribulation he was now going to face. The Dao of Defiance!
