Chapter 1364 - 1363 - Karmic Arts
Chapter 1364 - 1363 - Karmic Arts
Lina had felt whatever Lind was doing and it had given her chills. Just what kind of setup was he making for his ascension?!
She was studying some ancient texts for her Laws when she felt her wards react. A tired sigh left her as she well knew who it had to be.
It was hardly the first time she had sent someone away but Lind had done it in a far more dramatic fashion than normal. Also, she knew the elder brother of the Hylean prince was a bit forceful when it came to his family's honor.
He was next in line for the throne as well so it was well within his power to send the current force behind the furious youth from before.
The armored figures were all on familiar ships. While they were not as well armed as the Frey Clan version, the starships had become a common item for powerful kingdoms to obtain.
The 3 massive vessels shimmered with Qi with a clear sign they were in need of repair but they were still more than powerful enough to cause issues for her. Yet, Lina showed not the slightest concern.
If anything, she felt bored with the set of events. Especially the next part she knew was coming.
The pier was ancient but well made. It was where flying artifacts and cultivators could land or disembark from the Monastery. She had effected several repairs and improvements since she was granted the peak, but its basic ability remained the same.
Arrays lit up until a small dome appeared. It was not nearly powerful enough to stop them but that was not the point of it.
Without just cause, breaking that barrier would send out an image of all involved to any allied power and Lina's connections were well known to all. Only a suicidal fool would break the barrier normally.
Sadly, such a fool had come back.
"You fox whore! I will drag you back and make you take me to the peak! I will make you bear my sons too! You should be–" A staff appeared in her hands and the shift in the air was felt by all.
"I have heard much the same before. Surely, you have heard the tales? I give you this one chance to leave in peace or face the consequences of your actions." She was not threatening in tone but her stance with both hands on the staff and having one end held toward the group was clear enough.
The youth turned beet red and stomped his foot on the edge of the dock they were on.
"KILL HER!" He pointed at her but the soldiers did not move. A woman with only 1 eye walked forward and bowed low to Lina. The armor was well cared for but had seen a lot of battle. The scratches and repaired parts were clear.
The slim sword at her hip gave Lina a dangerous feeling but the dark armor was clearly of mid-grade 7. The disparity between weapon and armor spoke of the limits of the Hylean Kingdom.
Weapons could be passed down and kept over time but armor had to be refined for each user. Only elites could get the best armor so the woman in front of Lina had to be a commander at best.
"Senior, while you have created offense, we are merely here to restore our Prince's honor. Could you please accommo–" The air changed for them all suddenly.
Before anyone could react, 3 beams of emerald light sliced up the starships like a hot knife through butter.
A massive shadow appeared but that was not the thing that inspired terror in all of them. No one felt a thing! No aura, no Qi, it was as if the massive dragon looming over them all did not exist!
Lina felt a headache behind her eyes just looking at him but that was not all. One aspect of her nature as a Spiritwalker was to touch on karma.
Most people had barely any presence due to the balancing act most people lived with. No one was a saint nor was anyone a pure devil. Some could lean one way or the other, but there was always a mix.
Until Lind transformed into his massive dragon form. His emerald scales shimmered like gems in the sunlight and his massive mane was like the finest silk. His tail seemed razor sharp like the 4 claws along his body.
The golden claws were more dangerous than any weapon she had yet to encounter. Further, his 3 horns had changed.
They were previously a representation of each elemental set but now they felt more real than the rest of him! Divine horns!
That was when Lina understood what was going on. It was not that Lind was hiding his power, it was too far above them to perceive it! They were being protected by Heaven and Earth!
How had he not ascended already?!
[I am the one that sent that fool into the pool of water. Speak.] The terror on the soldiers was palpable but their ships were gone. Even the best flying artifact could not outrun a dragon.
The woman with one eye, however, knelt instantly to Lind.
"Senior Lind Frey, I give my sincere greetings." Her words brought silence to the panicking soldiers. They all looked up and a new emotion washed over them but Lina noticed the prince did not look pleased.
His handsome face was currently scowling up at Lind.
If he could see the golden storm of karma around him, the foolish boy would kneel in awe instead. Indeed, Lind was currently a storm of karmic Qi!
She had not felt anything like it when he was in his human form but now it was impossible to look at him for too long.
"You have no power here, you overblown wurm!" Dead silence greeted the visceral words. Lind floated above them but Lina felt her heart trying to escape her ribcage. How idiotic could someone be.
[Lina. Show him.] She jumped but then nodded as she dismissed her staff. Her body became lined in golden and black Qi. The instant some of the older soldiers saw it, they turned pale as ghosts.
She danced on the pier and all lit up with similar colors. Most were faint but unsurprisingly, the young prince was encircled by a cage of black lightning. None could go near but the young man was not harmed.
He sneered before he clearly tried to summon a weapon but nothing happened. He finally began to panic but nothing he did worked! His robes, storage treasures, and currently exposed artifacts seemed to be dead to him!
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME YOU–" Gravity changed and the youth was slammed into the stone pavement. Lind loomed over him but did nothing else as Lina finished her movements.
She looked pale and exhausted but the barrier was dismissed as the soldiers looked in fear at her.
"Now, the Revelation of Corruption Art is completed." It was a long name but it was apt. "Depending on your actions thus far, the more severe the effect. So, how are you feeling, young prince?"
Lina stood exhausted but without fear. The soldiers had quickly dismissed their weapons but the youth was screaming and wailing as nothing worked. Even Lina was surprised as it was a rather severe reaction.
An emerald tail whipped into the boy and slammed him back into the ground.
[ENOUGH! Your karmic debt is massive. I can only imagine what you have done to incur it but at least there is no trace of Fiend Qi on you.] The boy was bleeding but he still looked defiant.
"Take this seal off me, now! My brother will make you both kneel! You will be made to pay and she will warm my–" Lina wanted to stop him but it was the one eyed female soldier that smacked him in the head.
"You fool! Your connection to Heaven and Earth is cut off! You have had your karma severed!" He looked at her in anger as if the words would not sink in but Lina's golden orbs narrowed.
"What do you know, Commander?" The soldier flinched but then her shoulder sagged.
"I cannot answer that, senior." Lina saw she was being truthful but the prince swept past her as he drew a dagger with bluish steel. It was imbued with poison!
"I will make you writhe under me you–" Just how idiotic could someone be?! Lind was even looking stunned now.
He then swiped one of his claws. There was no sound nor a feeling of power but the arm holding the dagger was gone! Blood was not even flowing as the wound had been sealed in the same movement.
Finally, the prideful eyes of the young prince went wide as he screamed in horror. Lind examined the dagger and narrowed his eyes at something.
[I see. It seems we have stumbled on a troublesome secret. This dagger is more than a weapon, it is a symbol of a member of the Azure Garden Sect." Lina stood up straighter before looking at the prince in disgust.
They were not a powerful sect but they had many connections. They were known to run brothels, slave pens, and other vile businesses in the darkest of ways. Further, to have a symbol of that sect is to be acknowledged as a VIP participant in rituals of blood, sacrifice, and depravity.
[None of you are leaving here. Surrender, or die.] Lind gave an ultimatum but LIna knew things had become twisted for her, yet he should be fine to ascend once all of these people were locked up.
By the time the Hylean Kingdom came to investigate, it would all be over. Yet, Lind looked to the south and it seemed he sensed something she did not.
[Nothing is ever easy. Lina, secure the prisoners. I am going to initiate my tribulation early. Trouble is coming.] He then vanished and she knew she had to get to her peak quickly as well.
The Hylean Kingdom and Azure Garden Sect would not elicit such a reaction. That left a peak high or supreme power. She was near none of them but if a reaction had been triggered by the current incident, that could not be good at all.
She quickly sealed the cultivation of the people around her with ease. A Spiritwalker was not a being to cross! The wailing youth was dragged behind the one eyed female soldier. The strange entourage followed Lina into the Monastery as she activated all the arrays to prepare for whatever came.
The rumble of thunder told her time was short!
