Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1362 - 1361 - Spirit Monastery

Chapter 1362 - 1361 - Spirit Monastery

"Oh holy maiden–" A young man with dark hair and pale skin was bowing low to a fox girl. She was a peak Radiant Tier but her aura felt stronger than most Radiant Tiers. Her pure golden robes were peak grade 7 quality but her face was hidden behind a veil.

Many assumed it was to hide her beauty but it was because if they could see the anger in her, they would feel their souls shiver in terror.

Her liquid gold eyes stared coldly as the youth rambled on about her beauty, wisdom, and other features but it was all just to ask her to look at his soul. Her gifts as a Spiritwalker had many benefits but the one most wanted was to unlock their potential.

She had discovered it while training with Master Frey. He had let her explore all she could do but they accidentally outed her ability to help those stuck at bottlenecks to advance.

It was like she saw the missing pieces and could guide them to find the answers.

The youth in front of her was from the Hylean Kingdom. It was an ancient kingdom that had returned from the 4th layer to reclaim their peaks.

It had an upper branch to support them so few could argue their claims. He was the son of one of the dukedoms.

He was also the sixth one to be sent to her.

She tuned back in as he looked up at her with his handsome features. He was only a Sliver Tier and stuck in the middle of the tier as well.

He seemed self assured that he would get his way but she merely summoned her staff of silver and gems. All 6 natural elements answered her call.

He smiled wider but then was sent flying across the room. The 2 large pillars by the main entrance were like a goal post and the youth sailed through them but hit the wall instead of the doorway.

She frowned before a figure opened the dark wooden door lined in Dawn Iron. It should not be so easy to open but now it swung inward silently.

Her veiled face broke out into a smile as a tanned man with emerald hair and vertically slit eyes walked in looking confused. His robes were a bit worn and gray.

His aura, however, was nearly blinding to her senses. He was ready to take the next step.

Lind knelt down to look at the unconscious youth before looking up at her.

"I do not recall you being so violent, Lina." She smirked at him before cupping her hands and bowing low.

"Just another person who feels entitled to be given answers rather than earn them on his own." He nodded but then she flinched when the boy vanished! He shrugged his shoulders at her.

"He will be fine. I aimed for some kind of artificial pool of water that was tied to his aura. There appeared to be several people entertaining themselves in ways I care not to name." Shock filled her at his words.

The youth had described exactly such a place to her to come visit him!

It should have been protected by peak grade 7 or even Law Grade formations! How could Lind bypass them so easily?

As if reading her mind he simply smiled but she recognized it. He would not be telling her but also pointing out the contradiction in wanting to get answers from him.

He looked at the golden tinted windows and embellished stonework around them. She became fidgety before he gently brushed his hands against the inscriptions hidden in the decorations.

"Not bad at all. Annabelle gave you her best work." Lina worried it was hurtful to talk about his estranged wife but he moved on. "Sadly, this is not a personal visit. The Monastery should have an area safe for ascension?"

She frowned at him now. What was he asking for?

"While it exists, it is a holdover from the previous owners. Phantom Peak and the Frey Clan had been repairing for those like me that are allies. Yet, your own Clan has a far better one. I have heard stories of its quality." He sighed as he well knew who leaked that particular revelation.

Evie was required to pass along that such a tool existed in his Clan but she did not have to go so far as to praise the damn thing to the Heavens themselves!

Experts had applied to examine it and as it was not a secret at all, he allowed a trusted few. It had not backfired exactly but it made the Frey Clan craftsmen become in very high demand.

"There are several reasons I cannot use my Clan's platform. One of them is population." Lina narrowed her eyes before nodding and waving for him to follow. He was a True Lord, Divine Progenitor, and a 6 elemental.

There was no telling what kind of insane tribulations he would face. The Spirit Monastery was relatively sparse. Lina had been granted the small range of peaks as they had few resources but they allowed excellent meditative repose.

For her unique existence, it was very helpful. It also allowed for easy defense from pests like that youth if they got too pushy.

The pair went up some stairs as they curled around a tower. It was a place to cultivate but also to be private. The wards isolated them and she took him to a place with several mats arranged around a stack of wood.

The fire was unlit but that was not the point of the pile. It was a focus to allow a cultivator to ponder the element of fire, earth, and air to start.

She sat on a mat and he took the one opposite her.

"What exactly is going to happen?" She was blunt but she was asking as the master of the Monastery.

He smiled but nodded at her with pride.

"I can't reveal it all but to sum up, my tribulation will be a bit disastrous. I need a place far from people but also with a platform that can contain it to an extent. It will be the worst one yet but also the first true tribulation I will face." She scrunched up her face at his words. What did that mean?

The first part was pretty much in line with her assumptions but what did the last part mean?

"Still, there are desolate areas thanks to the soulless that have open platforms. Why not use one of those?" Despite thousands of years, there were places no one had much interest in anymore.

The soulless had destroyed many places that had once had resources and massive populations. While a few arrays did remain, they were in desperate need of repair to be safe.

Ascension platforms were a bit more resilient as they were mostly meant as a stable location to face tribulations.

They had several options but as a place, there were many locations open for any to claim.

Lind looked at her and his aura suddenly skyrocketed for a moment. The formations around them were strained trying to contain it!

Her eyes were briefly blinded but her instincts as a Spiritwalker told her something else.

"I see, you need me to protect the world from you." He nodded grimly.

"I did some testing and if I use those locations, I will cause issues no one but you can stop. Even then, I only want you to regulate. Don't try to control it as you know what will happen." She nodded.

Any cultivator well knew the certain death sentence of interfering with a tribulation. Heaven and Earth were not kind to those that tried to do so.

"You will help me with some weavings?" He nodded with a smile.

"I have a few jade slips and weaving plates for you to examine. Keep in mind I am guessing a bit here too as we are in uncharted territory." She nodded and examined them.

Her eyes went wide as she almost immediately felt enlightenment wash over her. She blinked and the mid-morning sunlight became moonlight!

Lind was gone but she felt her horizons had been broadened. She also felt her bottleneck had begun to unravel!

She too could ascend soon!

Happiness filled her but she would have to prepare–

Her thoughts suddenly ground to a halt on an aspect they had not covered. Sovereign Tiers were not a minor force at all. When they ascended, they had to make alliances for when they arrived!

Those like Annabelle that had been acknowledged were fine. She would be welcomed with open arms in fact.

While Lind was in a similar vein, he had entered the Divine Inheritances. It would be like putting blood in shark infested waters. She realized the other reason for coming to her.

Due to her unique status, an Immortal ascending from her platform would actually be expected!

Two already had but they had been stuck at the peak for millions of years.

So another Immortal ascending would not draw as much attention!

Lind Frey intended to hide his ascension until the last possible moment!
