Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1338 - 1337 - Revealed

Chapter 1338 - 1337 - Revealed

Fey felt like the world was so small. She was only a Radiant Tier but she seemed to have no issue with the rest of the Immortal Realm ahead of her. She knew, on some level, that the final piece of the puzzle would unlock a smooth road to divinity.

Her ragged robes were eye-catching as well as her fairy like appearance but it was as if no one saw her. The crowd never glanced as she flew overhead. No formations nor any other defense even flickered as she passed.

"So that is how Nihility Dao works." She was not in control of them but she could perceive them. The Nihility Laws and Dao were vastly different. The Laws were myriad slices of the Dao but acting in concert with each other she saw how the world could not even perceive her.

All auras, formations, and weavings simply ceased to exist around her. The Oblivion Dao was very different. Nihility was the extinction of an object, while oblivion was beyond return.

Destruction was never complete. There was always something left behind but oblivion removed even that slight chance. If she were to put words to it, she had become a bottomless well of negation.

She could not be detected and even if attacked by a Sovereign Tier at point black range, their power would simply be swallowed up by her Daos.

Not even a trace would remain!

What was odd to her was the delicate balance the counterpoint was.

Nihility was not absent from Growth. In fact, the removal of obstructions could lead to explosive growth as she understood. The 2 Daos could feed into each other to create a stunning display of power.

Rejuvenation seemed a poor match to Oblivion but they would be wrong. Complete destruction is impossible in front of absolute regeneration. A constant cycle of absolute destruction while a fingernail of life remained could be held onto.

The edge of total destruction and that last sliver of life was what many cultivators dreamed of reaching to push beyond their bottlenecks.

The last 2 were almost comically easy in many eyes but Fey realized there was more to it. Life and Death were perhaps the best understood Laws but the Daos were not. She had never considered how narrow her perception of them were.

They were basic to all living beings but they equally all took it for granted. Even cultivators that followed those paths or brushed on those Laws never truly grasped the ocean those concepts held.

She felt like there was more to both but she was too weak to even grasp the Daos beyond the traces imposed on her.

The more shocking thing was her Father.

As she finally crossed the last wall before the outer edge of the island, she paused to consider what exactly he had done. He had condensed her soul and dantian with Dao tempering.

An Immortal, Radiant Tier no less, was able to control Dao! She knew he had touched on pseudo-Dao in his creations but that was clear when he did it the toll it took on him. He could not do it consecutively nor could he repeat the actions even inside of a year!

It took closer to 5 years between attempts for him to feel confident of success and even then it was iffy!

He had changed dramatically compared to what she once knew in a very short time.

His harmony was a Dao. She could feel it now and was shocked that it felt superior to all 6 of the ones fused to her being. How could a single Dao be superior to 6? How could any Dao be superior to others?

Dao, like Laws, were the bedrock of all of existence. There should not be that kind of feeling but it had been there.

She pushed it aside as she simply did not have the ability to figure it out. She was not an intellectual like her Father or Master. She could analyze tactics, pills, and things she specialized in, but theoretical abstract study was not her strength.

She landed at the very edge of a structure before the edge of the island. Guards stood there oblivious to her existence but unlike before, she did not wish to simply move by.

It would cause issues later she did not wish to deal with.

She also felt many auras closely examining the area in front of the metal gate setup in the wall in front of her. They were all peak Radiant Tier but only a few were familiar. Likely many powers had sent envoys as the time of opening was at hand.

They wanted the first crack at it but they had all been so wrong.

The Inheritors were not simply keys, but a chance. A chance to enter was all they would get and only if she allowed it. She had no such desire and besides, she knew one would follow that could earn some goodwill if he allowed more to follow him.

"Mother Qing would not approve but the rest likely would. Master Mira would smack me for being arrogant but smile about it. I will miss them." She knew many of her loved ones had reached the end of their cultivation journey.

Her Master was one of them. She had to use a pill and just barely crossed the threshold. While she had made progress as a Radiant Tier, the speed was far slower than ever before.

Her Mothers would be fine to the Sovereign Tier, although Mother Lysanna did not seem as motivated anymore, but Fey pushed all those thoughts aside.

She simply let her hand touch the wall and the metal gate groaned as the formations disintegrated under her touch.

The guards finally perceived her but it was clear they had difficulty doing so.

Some went wide-eyed as they recognized her but they all felt the profound aura push down on them.

"I cannot control fully what I am doing. Please do not stop me as I will unlock the 3rd Divine Inheritance. Also, you will experience worse than death if you touch me, so I do not recommend it." The metal was not just breaking but dispersing!

They all saw it and cold sweat broke out on them but they backed off. She felt the auras intensify and sensed others were coming but they were far too late.

The instant she was at the edge a massive doorway appeared. Half the door was swallowing the light of the world while the other was shining with life. They were intertwined at the divisione line and not quite uniform at the border but that was fine.

Summoning each artifact, she saw their sigils light up and resonate with her. Her body, soul, and mind all became as one as she inserted the cipher key into the hollow tube.

They were clearly not a literal lock and key, yet the instant she did so, the doors sent out a shockwave that obliterated the wall nearby. The cultivators were sent sprawling but no one died.

The 2 doors began to swirl their energies around her as a massive structure was revealed. It towered into the sky with vine covered walls and mosaics of great battles that seemed to be happening in real time!

Several Immortals were slammed into the ground from the air as their protective and stealth artifacts all failed at once. Fey spared not even a glance as the storm inside her returned.

She realized if her Father had not helped her, she would have been destroyed entirely at that step. Her soul would have been completely obliterated with no chance of reincarnation.

[Welcome, Goddess of Life and Death. I have been waiting for you.] A voice echoed across the land and all felt shocked as that unofficial title was well known!

Fey Frey! That strange woman was Fey Frey!

Fey felt strained but smiled as she simply took a step forward and was swallowed by the energies. The sound of a thunderous door slamming shut made the ears bleed of all present but the imposing structure continued to be revealed.

The small island that held the entirety of several million people was a grain of sand compared to the revelation of the last Divine Inheritance!

The odd thing was the exposed vines and how they grew vibrant and thick only to wither and die in seconds. The process repeated constantly and changed the distribution of the vines as well, but all raced to try and follow Fey into the Inheritance.

A barrier suddenly slammed down and all were repelled once more onto their backsides.

Frustrated shouts were silenced as the voice appeared again.

[I am not like the other 2. There are no limits to who can enter but the qualifications are quite strict. Those that have claimed a legacy may come to face the Trial of the Soul. I warn you, there is a chance your existence will be extinguished entirely. Even powerful Immortals will not survive if they are not prepared.]

Some found the words reasonable while others railed at it as they had been denied access to the other 2 Inheritances for various reasons. The words were not done, however.

[Modification: A Living Key has been discovered. Should that being wish it, they can allow others in but the likelihood of destruction does not change. They will not be held accountable for your annihilation.]

Shock spread but all recalled Fey's previous attempt. A man had stopped her that all knew on sight! Lind Frey! If he could stop Fey, then he had to be the Living Key!

Immortals flew off at their best speed to buy information on his whereabouts immediately. Many were already drawing up lists of resources, potential brides, or anything they possessed to earn his favor.

The figure they all looked for was currently recovering safely under Evie and his spirits' care. The storm upon his awakening would be unrivaled compared to the most ardent auction. The bidding wars would eclipse them all as if there was no limit then a true Inheritance ground awaited within!
