Chapter 1328 - 1327 - Madness
Chapter 1328 - 1327 - Madness
"Pardon me, senior, but could you repeat that?" Lind secretly summoned an elixir with gold and dark swirls into his hand as he spoke. A gentle smile spread on the Divine Void's face as he looked at him.
"I have finally had a breakthrough but I need to kill a True Lord to become a Sovereign Tier. While battle certainly helped cultivators, killing was not usually required. Life and death did bring someone to the edge but to so gently ask was insane.
"How long have you been alone here?" His question seemed to throw off the young man. He tapped his fingers on the stone table
"Hmmm, I am not sure. Others have come but they always whine about going home or that they were too important to waste away here. I offered them a chance but they all died. They were useless." Lind's heart pounded in his chest.
The being in front of him used others to fuel his cultivation by killing them but was frustrated when he did not advance?!
How many died for his greed?!
It was like the false Inheritances but worse. The being in front of him had pulled in victims knowingly and had no remorse about it!
At least the vile beings behind them admitted what they were doing but the creature in front of him seemed oblivious!
Worse, the being in front of him was a True Lord. Heaven and Earth should know what he was up to but the Lost Realm hid his intentions!
"Why are you stuck, senior? True Lords are challenged by the Heavens but they are still privy to far more benefits than others." He was not wrong. True Lords faced harsh tribulations but they also had far more insight to the next steps than others.
The phoenix became amused but did not attack him.
"We get stuck too, just like anyone else. The only issue is that we have to overcome our special tribulations compared to the rabble." Lind frowned as that was not his experience nor any reference he could find.
"I admit our tribulations are difficult but they are not beyond comprehension." His words seemed to make the youth frown.
"You must be young. The tribulations even just in the Immortal Realm tiers are terrifying. Any method to survive is acceptable so long as it is for us. Surely you have grasped that?" The calm tone left Lind cold.
There was no malice or violent aura at all. Total calm was all he felt from the phoenix left him more terrified than any time in his life.
He had faced power mad dictators, monsters in human flesh, and vile Fiends that treated living beings like a farm crop, but the being in front of him was the most terrifying being he had ever met.
"Why have you suppressed my spirit tools?" Lind tried to distract the madman but was stunned when disgust crossed his handsome features.
A rumble in the sky nearly distracted him but then pain lanced from his left arm and the finger his ring was on!
"False creatures have no right to exist! You taint yourself using them! Only True Lords and the spirits of Heaven and Earth matter! I will not let such abominations continue to exist!" Shock filled Lind.
He had seen cultivators almost literally offer up their souls to get a spirit tool but now he was faced with being that wanted them to never exist?!
It was the first strong emotion the youth had expressed.
"They are born from the resonance of Heaven and Earth. I even just learned–" Lind was trying to keep him talking but was sent flying suddenly. The soil and trees were scattered as he made a giant ravine on the surface.
It healed quickly but he slowly stood up as blood flowed freely down his face from his broken nose. His skin was marred with slices but they healed quickly.
He had lost all trace of the phoenix but his instincts screamed at him. He tried to tear through space but it failed! He shot into the sky as it was the only ability not locked down.
[YOU MADE THEM! YOU ARE A DEFILER OF NATURE AND WILL BECOME MY STEPPING STONE TO BECOMING DIVINE!] The sky became dark as midnight as wings covered the 3 suns.
He was massive as the wings seemed to bend the very realm into the void! He realized he was not looking at the void between worlds but the void made by the phoenix itself!
The horrific power had reappeared as he could no longer fly away from him.
[DIE FOR ME!] The very fabric of reality was ripped apart as a bolt of what seemed to be nothing tore right for him.
Lind released his dragon body and his human form barely dodged as it was temporarily released from whatever hold the youth had on him.
The spirits were suppressed but he was done being target practice.
[I know you can hear me. I am not asking for judgement but I am asking for a level playing field. Release!] His authority resulted in no change at all but laughter from the True Lord Phoenix.
[Pathetic child! This place is my own creation. Heaven and Earth have no power here!] Lind sneered at the arrogance.
His elements lit up like 6 suns as something odd finally happened. The once terrifying attacks were frozen in place. Blood spurted from his ears and nose but he did not dare let up.
[What–what have you done?!] He had no capacity to speak let alone fight back. He had one shot and that was all he could do.
It was almost nostalgic as his elemental power looked for any weakness before finally noticing the 3 suns were one.
He created a spear of emerald Qi that was more solid than anything in the current world the 2 were in.
[Impossible! You are just a mere Radiant Tier Immortal! You are an insect to fuel my ris–] Lind was not listening nor caring as his skin became white as a sheet. His vision was going blurry as he pushed his body to the limit.
Immortal power would not help him. Unlike before, he had more than just his mind to power a creation of Dao! His harmony was the best resource he had!
The spear was simple and without flourish as it shot right at the suns! The black emptiness tried to stop it but it tore through the massive shape like a hot knife through butter.
"Go to Hell, bastard." Lind hacked up blood as he collapsed on the surface when the spear splintered the 3 suns like glass! The sky fractured and black lightning rapidly breached it.
[NO! NO, NOT NOW! GET AWAY FROM ME!] Lind thought he would see karmic lightning but instead it was tribulation clouds!
That was why the youth was sure Heaven and Earth had no hold there. He had been hiding from his last tribulation!
He had refined his foundation over 100 times and had to be ready to advance but was afraid to face it without killing a True Lord for some reason.
Why no longer mattered but Lind also had no strength to move as his body was essentially shredded. His meridians were fractured and his dantian strained to the limit. He could not even move!
The clouds were tearing through the strange Lost Realm. Unlike any tribulation he had ever seen before, it was almost violently destroying the world like it was an offense to Heaven and Earth.
[You ruined it! You will die with me and I will destroy all your roost when I leave this place!] Lind barely moved his head up to see the youth once more standing right over him.
The bastard was going to pull him into the tribulation! There was nothing he could do as the once handsome face smiled at him with a calm acceptance of what was to come.
There were no defenses nor any sign of him preparing to temper through the lightning. He was going to rely on his phoenix aspect of rebirth to try again after dying!
There was nothing he could do and Haro could not interfere again without risking his own existence.
His eyes went wide as he looked up at the youth before a thought came to him.
[A spirit interfered in a tribulation that would have killed you?] His words distracted the youth as rage disturbed his serene look.
[SILENCE! FAKE CREATURES HAVE NO–] The first bolt struck before either realized. Lind tried to roll away but he only made his body flinch. The bright white bolt slammed into them.
Lind was sent flying as his ravaged body was made far worse!
Still, he survived as the youth was slammed into the soil. The ground was turned into glass! What kind of tribulation did the youth bring?
The black clouds rumbled with anger and he realized things were going to get worse but the youth smiled wide before reaching out to pull him back!
He prepared to feel a tug but nothing came.
{True Lord Lind Frey's command has been accepted.}
A chorus of voices suddenly spoke and the last thing he saw was the once handsome face scream in unbridled madness as the tribulation shifted in aura. Lind had no idea what would happen if he awoke but he could not hold on any longer as darkness closed in.
