Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1291 - 1290 - Illusion Goddess

Chapter 1291 - 1290 - Illusion Goddess

Annabelle woke up to find herself surrounded by familiar faces. Her Sisters were present but so were her children and grandchildren! They were in a large hall that was similar to the fortress she had once lived in.

She thought that due to the fact it had a much lower ceiling and more ornate wooden supports with fresh carvings preparing for formations to be applied.

She also saw many beds holding wounded but there were no funeral shrouds nor the sadness of loss. It meant no one had died!

"Thank the spirits." Her words croaked out but a bright ball of blonde hair sprinted over with a smile and tears.

"Mom!" Sally crushed her but Annabelle had no complaints. She patted her daughter's head. Water was given by Mira as the rest cheered her return to the land of the living.

"Hold still while I examine you." Mira summoned a few artifacts. One was a large disc that hovered as it was guided by her aura. The other was a slate that shimmered with numbers and symbols.

It was a simple arrangement to let a healer assess someone without using aura to invade their subjects body. It was actually a very ancient method that existed all the way down to the mortal realms but the lack of profound Qi led to many supplementary artifacts to achieve the simple result Mira pulled off now.

She frowned a bit but then nodded.

"You are still severely depleted on elemental Qi but everything else looks fine. Here." A pill and elixir were handed over. The pill was easily swallowed but Annabelle narrowed her eyes at the elixir.

She knew who had made it and that it was specifically for her.

"He is here?" The feeling in the room changed. Her voice was not harsh but it was not hopeful either. Her face was also deadpanned.

"He–he came to help, Mom! He really tried, I saw it. I promise!" Surprise bloomed on her face as she looked at the now fidgeting Sally. Still, a gentle smile passed over her face.

"Fine, I will not push things. Tell me all that has happened." She could see the crimson and black cloaks or robes on the figures helping the others so she knew the Frey Clan had come in force to help her.

It would be insane to deny that help now.

"I will take over. Everyone else that has duties, get back to it." Mira spoke up and they all bowed. Sally stayed and no one objected.

"In charge as always, Mother?" Annabelle smiled up at her as Mira only winked and administered the elixir. Her body felt instantly better but it was only then she felt the difference.

She was at the peak of the Radiant Tier! How?!

She had been nowhere close to it before! She had not stabilized her foundation either but it was as solid as any mountain!

What was going on?!

"I suppose I should start with your changes. You are now ahead of a lot of us. It was explained to me that the formation you created touched on the next realm. You did so successfully and survived. Compared to Laws, Daos can easily improve us." She slowly nodded at Mira's words.

She could not deny it since it was how she was!

Still, she was only a Radiant Tier. How did she touch on the Dao?

Only one person could answer her at the moment and she was not inclined to talk to him. Not yet, anyway.

"After the battle was over, the Frey Clan was brought over enmasse to help us recover and rebuild. I should point out they were not here originally but were brought over directly without a teleportation array." A marked look came from Mira to make it clear.

Annabelle sighed but nodded. It was clear she was going to have to see him but then surprising words came from her.

"After Cyntilla and most of the others were recovered, he took Ethry and the dragons away to help them recover faster. Chu was taken later by another dragon but not long after. I am not sure if she went with them but I suspect so." It was convoluted but he kept his word. He seemed to be working hard to keep to it.

"That was about 3 months ago and he left explicit instructions for you to have that elixir. He also warned me to say you cannot cultivate for at least 3 more months. Based on what I saw, he is right." She showed the diagram of Annabelles body and all her meridians were glowing red.

"How bad?" Mira smiled at her.

"Not as bad as it looks. Oddly, while severely strained, they seem much stronger than before. I think you will find Qi is a lot easier to move going forward as well as using Laws if I am right." Annabelle lit up at that! She had struggled with Laws outside of her illusions but if she could improve outside of that, she could easily become a Sovereign Tier!

"All about you aside, your palace has been rebuilt and redesigned. Some basic formations were installed but nothing else. Everything else was simply prepped for you." Annabelle appreciated that.

While the basics of formations was nearly identical, each array master was slightly different.

She could put her own aesthetic as she wished with the basics laid out.

Sally helped her sit up and she noted with warmth how the Frey Clan was working diligently to restore her home.

Home? She tilted her head as she realized she had never thought of the castle as a home before. It had simply been a place away from the pain. She had run away and it was like she had awakened from a long nightmare.

Her eyes cleared as her heart was clear to her. The memories that had been so hurtful were warm once more. They were happiness to her once again! Yet there was a single difference from before Lind left them.

She no longer felt the strong attachment to Lind. She did not hate him any longer. She did not forgive him. It was no longer a question of that. She had a new appreciation for her life and saw they were diverging away from each other.

She had been happy living in his shadow but he had never wanted that. He always pushed her to be more. He was too soft to push her harshly enough to realize she was limiting herself.

She also frowned as she looked at Lysanna looking around as she poured over some jade slips and scrolls.

Tal and others flashed through her mind. They were not wrong to walk their own path but they were different from her.

They had kept walking the path they chose but they were hurting him as they were hurt. It would limit them if they did not confront it soon.

"Sister Qing and I need to talk." She likely already knew but maybe her voice added to Qing's would make a difference.

Most of the words after that were mundane. Supplies, personnel, and some had expressed an interest in staying to serve her if she was fine with it. She nodded but then Mira began to smirk strangely.

Sally, also, suddenly could not look her in the eye. Why were they acting like that?

"Ahem, there was also a proclamation sent out. Apparently, the Illusion Immortal acted against some current treaties. The Sovereign Tiers have sent their apologies and stripped him of his privileges. I am unsure what all that entails but they had one additional declaration." Mira then began to giggle.

Sally simply blushed deeply but suddenly Shoti appeared as if she had been waiting for that moment to appear!

"ME! Pick me! Please let me tell her!" She was acting like a spoiled child but it only made a chill flow down Annabelle's spine. Shoti was never that enthusiastic unless she was highly amused!

Shoti amused was very dangerous!

"Sigh, sit still or I will not bake anymore for you." The room stopped moving. It was not well known, but Mira was an excellent cook! Her food was legendary in the Frey Clan. The threat was enough to make even the newest generation break out in a cold sweat.

Shoti went from being happy to pale faced and kneeling on the ground. She did not even look up or speak but Mira sighed again.

"Honestly, sometimes I wonder if you are actually an Immortal." There was affection in her voice but Annabelle now saw her dark green eyes look at her closely.

"So, you have an official Dao title." Relief washed over her. That was all?! A Dao title could be claimed or given. Heaven and Earth would not allow for it to be done without argument but so long as there was no objection, it would be fine.

"I assume I am taking that man's place?" Sally shook her head but looked even more red than before. Why was she so red? Mira looked amused as she shook her head.

"Actually, they used an Oracle of some kind. Supposedly, it is the Dao title you would have been granted if you got far enough along your path normally." Annabelle was impressed but then wondered why they went that far for her.

Looking into the future was not accurate but it was helpful. It was also immensely taxing on the user from what she had heard.

"So, what title have I been given?" She was confused why everyone was being so weird over a simple thing. A Dao title was important but not to the point it should be garnering the reactions she was seeing.

"Ah, the Illusion Goddess is awake!" A new voice brightly spoke up as Fey walked in from outside. The room froze once more as Mira looked up at the ceiling. Annabelle heard nothing as thunder cracked overhead.

Only she heard it but the title took hold and she realized it was a Heaven sent title!

Most Immortals usually had a Dao title with the realm behind it. It was simply a demarcation from the other realms but a God was different. No one could be higher or a better expert than a God!

Further, it was not a title usually granted to Immortals! They could be counted on one hand! None were currently alive in the present era too!

Annabelle felt her blood drain away as Mira gently laid her back down.

Fey, meanwhile, was confused before she too went pale.

"No one told her yet?!" It was the last words she heard before she fell asleep. She had to recover more and face the storm to come. A God would be consulted by various guilds, sects, and powers for benefits and alliances!

Worse, they would send more annoying gnats to try and become part of her household! Who thought this was a good idea?! Why?!
