Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1281 - 1280 - The Trio Arrives

Chapter 1281 - 1280 - The Trio Arrives

Since the defeat of the Fiends, the major powers had been quick to build several layer arrays. There were no ascension pools like in the lower realms.

The Celestial Fields were all Immortal, it was simply the density of Laws and elemental Qi that changed. It was all still Immortal.

Tribulations allowed for a natural progression if they were overcome, but artisans had long learned how to safely create the effect of bridging the layers. So long as the rules of Heaven and Earth were not violated, the Sliver to the Radiant Tiers could move up to any layer they wished or down to the layers that could withstand them.

Now that the barriers the Fiends had put in place were long gone, travel between layers had become more common.

Still, the 4th layer was a special place as it was one of the few layers to largely survive intact without any drastic changes needed. Only the 2nd layer could compare in that regard as the other 2 were decimated by the Fiend's plans.

When the connections were remade, the 4th layer commanded certain factions to reclaim their old lands to regulate access to it outside of tribulations.

The Serenity Sect was a major healing power but it was also a neutral supreme power that no one would dare cross. Their Sovereign Tiers were their backing and they were enough to enforce neutrality.

As such, those Sovereign Tiers that did not have access to an array brokered passage with someone like the Serenity Sect.

The massive array lit up with shimmering light flowing downward. It indicated an arrival from above as a simple outward sign.

A group of ten appeared in black cloaks but 3 of them stood out as odd even to a layman. They were wrapped head to toe with no distinguishing features revealed. All 3 took a step forward with their left foot and were in total sync as they moved.

Their arms were the most disturbing. They not only moved at the same time but seemed to be the same in all dimensions. Length, circumference, and even flexibility were all in sync.

If one was to measure their height, they would find all 3 were identical. The other 7 following them seemed normal. Their hoods hid their features but the guards wearing dark green robes did not even look bothered.

They were hardly the first or the last to hide their features.

"Please leave the array so the next connection can be made." The lead guard looked bored. The oddities of the group were just another day for him. The 10 moved quickly and bowed respectfully as they passed.

They spoke no words and all unconsciously parted from in front of them without any complaint. There were no symbols on the cloaks but the pressure made it clear they were supreme experts.

They crossed the wide streets without anyone obstructing them. Even the most arrogant young master bowed low as they passed.

Once they left the main gate, they finally headed to the open dock. There, they paused to see the various ships tied off or floating openly.

"So, they truly are not artifacts but complex vessels. No wonder the Furnace Immortal wants to get her hands on the designs." One of the 7 spoke up but their voice was androgynous.

It was like nothing could be given away even when speaking.

The group headed to a more familiar area where there was a line of people waiting to use a large platform.

For the first time, there was no giving way before them. Some looked fearful of the 10 but when nothing happened they turned back to the front.

Shortly, a group filled the platform and a large flash was followed by a large disc appearing. The group of 3 hopped on and flew off under their own power.

The Endless Peaks could not have flying artifacts or ships leaving haphazardly, so a system was put in place to regulate them. Individuals that could fly on their own were free to leave once outside a city or outer wall of a settled area.

Tearing through space was limited but a new set of cultivators made new rules be made.

Even as the 10 waited, they saw a smaller area suddenly ripple as a woman stepped through. Her hair was streaked with violet and her eyes matched. She was a Crystal Tier but she had been able to tear through space from somewhere to reach the peak!

For the first time, the synced trio looked at each other. The breaking of the pattern made the other 7 flinch.

The woman was about to pass when she paused and narrowed her eyes to look at the group. She had simple dark robes with no mark but her aura made it clear a low Radiant Tier would be unwise to attack her.

Such power was to be respected.

"It is rude to scan someone like that. Explain yourselves." A spear appeared in her hand that instantly made all tremble. Law Grade! High Law Grade as well!

More, the spirit in it was profound. It would be like fighting a mid Radiant Tier with that weapon in her hand!

Who had made that spear?!

[[[Move on, or die.]]]

Three voices mentally spoke in sync but the 7 seemed to want to back away. They knew what was about to happen.

The woman's eyes narrowed as she readied her spear. She had no fear!

Facing 10 Radiant Tiers and she seemed unconcerned!

[No fighting on my peak. Apologize to her and leave.] A new message entered all their minds.

The guards knelt instantly and even the Trio bowed low to the peak they had just descended.

The woman frowned but put the spear away.

[[[We apologize.]]] Simple as that but then the group turned in unison to the platform. All in front moves aside instantly. An order had been given by the Serenity Sect Master.

A massive sphere appeared in the sky with 6 vertical rectangular slots equally spread around the surface. The 10 boarded and the Trio stood at the large room inside as the 7 took up positions to control the artifact.

Only now did the group relax enough to speak.

"A 6 elemental is a different beast, just as the rumors said. Still, she seemed sure to fight us despite being outnumbered." The voices of the group still gave nothing away. The cloaked figures pushed back their hoods to reveal disturbing faces.

Any distinguishing features were gone. The faces were plain and hard to separate from each other. It was like they were siblings but their hair colors varied slightly. A pale brown that was a shade darker or lighter for each of them.

If anyone saw them alone and asked to point them out from the other 6 would be impossible for even the most observant cultivator.

The masked Trio contributed nothing but the other 7 suddenly nodded as if they had spoken.

"I see, she had other artifacts on her. Whoever supplied her gave her the confidence. She must be the scion of a high or supreme power. The other Sovereign Tiers have made special efforts to recruit them." The group flew for a while but it seemed a question was asked.

"No, I have not heard of any of them becoming a Sovereign Tier since they were discovered. It is said they wait for the trail blazing dragon to figure it out. It seems their harmony complicates the usual path." The figure speaking shifted as if they were all having a conversation at the same time.

Yet, none of the 6 ever stopped infusing Qi and controlling the artifact.

Finally, the Trio assumed a lotus position at the same time without any discrepancy. They were preparing for their arrival.

One of the 7 touched a blue jade stone inserted in the wall above them.

A projection appeared of their Sovereign Tier.

The Illusion Immortal stood with his arms behind his back looking up at something.

[A year has not yet passed but all my scouts have vanished. We will claim my prize and I will extract all her secrets. I will finally become a supreme lord!] The man was calm when speaking but the fire in his eyes was clear.

There was hardly any reaction from the group of 10. The man looked around as his fine robes and slicked back hair seemed wasted on them. He sighed before shaking his head.

[I waste my breath on puppets. Do not fail the mission. You 7 understand the consequences if you do.] The Trio was not addressed. There was no reason to.

The projection flickered before the group resumed their journey. Silence reigned inside but the 7 were slowly moving more in sync compared to before.

The journey would take months but that was fine. They had to prepare before attacking the Phantom Peak anyway.

Further, they were going to be tested by the Trio during the mission. The primary target was the ultimate goal but the secondary target was also expected.

The extermination of Lind Frey.
