Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1271 - 1270 - Carving out Peace

Chapter 1271 - 1270 - Carving out Peace

Lind wanted to go back to fighting Frostsoul. In fact, he would welcome Fiends, mad beasts, or anything but the tedious meeting he was currently stuck in.

The demon was clearly very good at his job despite the smooth movements that revealed his robust battle experience. Lind could tell the demon would wipe the floor with most Shard Tiers, but his efficiency in paperwork and meetings bogged down with bureaucracy was equally terrifying to him.

Lind loathed it all! Thank the spirits for Din!

Din was in his element and happily matched the demon point for point on their concerns.

It seemed the Frost Heart Sect, a mid level power, would be moving into the main city area. They would be the access point for the Icy Path and guilds going forward. The Icy Path was ideal for them for obvious reasons.

Lind's territory was much farther in, more than enough to be accommodated but the future was the sect's concern. His ability to not only live but make areas no one could enter even a thousand years later made it clear about his future potential to grow his clan.

There were likely other powers that would spring up over time despite the harsh climate of the Icy Path.

Din already had plans laid out and the demon was surprised at how the Frey Clan intended to move in a direction called the Icy Plains. It was an area rife with powerful Immortal beasts and even the sect had no intention of touching it if possible.

The benefits to both powers, however, were clear. The Frey Clan would gain a massive amount of space to be used for the future and the materials trade was enough for the sect to possibly entice a few more Radiant Tiers to elevate their power to the high grade!

There was a third power that they both had to acknowledge as well. The power of the natives.

Since it had been a safe haven for over a million years, generations of villagers had built up lives in the Icy Path and now they had a choice to leave or go, they ghost to stay. This result was not entirely unexpected as the expense of moving as well as the dangers of the journey for weaker members was just not worth it.

Thus the natives had formed an alliance of villages that could easily one day become a power unto their own right. Rather than force the villagers to submit, the Frost Heart Sect would like both the Frey Clan and the sect to arrange agreements to carve out a place for them to grow as well.

Lind had no issue but Din had concerns with 2 of them. Their location was near the Icy Plains.

They could not utilize it currently but unlike the other villages, those 2 were far older. They had been established in places that were easy to defend and access to rich Qi. Trying to evict them would normally be impossible but it was not so for Lind.

He could wave his hand and remove them with ease but he affirmed with Din it was not an issue.

He knew a secret about those villages few did not. He kept his thoughts to himself though as Din and the demon worked out the final details. An entire damned week was spent on the negotiations!

It should never take that long!

Once the matter was settled, the Frey Clan members were actually transported by the floating mansion to allow them to easily descend into what was quickly become sect grounds and a new city.

He hardly recognized the area as aside from the outer wall, nothing was the same. Far better materials had been brought in and formations had been redone to keep out the worst of the wind and frost.

The wall that had once been buried under meters of ice was now almost visible! The amount of Qi stones needed to run such a formation was insane but the benefits once it was set up were clear. Space would be freed up and most beasts would avoid the walls on principle.

Heat was a vicious enemy in the Icy Path.

The small group landed in a clearing specially made for people to disembark from ships. He could see docks being built for future use while the teleportation hall was larger than before. Now that the arrays were usable, they were quickly restoring all they could.

In the 1000 years since he left, the vast network had been built up for the most part for major powers but smaller relays were still desperately needed.

There were still too many areas that took flight by ships to reach the next link in the teleportation chain.

An aether child man stepped forward quickly that he remembered from his time living in the Icy Path.

"You seem to have moved up in the world, Junior Uln. How have you been?" The man smiled ear to ear as his azure and crimson skin seemed to glow. His elements normally opposed each other spectacularly but like all aether children, he had a skill that blew that issue far away.

He was able to always change the thermal conditions of an area at a whim. He could make it hell on earth or a frozen void. He was one of the few that even as the Sliver Tier he was, could easily survive the harsh winds of the Icy Path at full strength.

"I am happy to see you return, Lord Emerald Immortal. Ah, I mean Lord Frey." Lind waved it off with a smile.

"Whatever is easier for you. I was not the easiest person to deal with back then either." A twinge of guilt flowed through him as he only knew the man's name due to necessity. He had been the head administrator of the bridge entrance!

Any Immortal arriving had to register so the demon powers knew where they were to send for help.

"Not at all! While you did not settle in the Bridge City as it was called then, you always brought materials and dropped off aid without overcharging. A lot of seniors were not so kind in those days." Lind could feel the pride in the people behind him like a wave.

He, on the other hand, simply recalled wanting to get what he needed with the minimum fuss and move on! He did not even make a greeting in those days!

"Your supplies have arrived as agreed upon by your representatives. Here." Uln handed over several storage bracelets but Lind had no idea what he was talking about. He turned back to Din who scratched the side of his cheek.

"We had already set aside several decades worth of supplies but then the Frenzy occurred and you returned so our original plans were changed." It was the first he was hearing of it!

"Did you have a location picked out?" Din shook his head.

"We were still in the process of negotiating several possibilities but the best spaces have mostly been reclaimed or taken." The Endless Peaks, despite their name, were finite. The reality was that real-estate that was conducive to cultivation was severely limited or highly dangerous to get.

The Icy Path was firmly in the latter.

It was 1 of 3 areas that many could barely live in, let alone thrive in. Compared to the other 2, however, the Icy Path was a vacation home.

Shadow Mist was an area that might have some peaks in it but all auras were effectively blocked and even the soulless avoided the place. Lind suspected the intense demonic Qi of the area was partially to blame.

It was so thick even demons had issues unless they were Immortals. Even then, they had to be on the fallen path to thrive there. Kal had explored it without issues but he had to leave as there was simply nowhere to land that he could find.

It was a death trap if one got lost and ran out of Qi. The Laws there were also incompatible with all but demons. Trying to exert Laws took twice to thrice the effort for other cultivators.

The final place even Lind had only heard of and never been to. The reason was it was a special realm and damned difficult to access. It was not an Inheritance or a Ruin, but supposedly the result of 2 Radiant Tiers going all out that fractured space and time.

It was literally known as the Lost Moments Realm. While a person could get into it, leaving was very difficult and they could end up far in the future or even in some lower realm without any chance of returning.

There was enough evidence left of it and the Sovereign Tiers had to act to stabilize it a bit to prevent disasters. The rough area the entrance appeared was now fixed but still random inside that area.

Lind had every reason to think both Fiends and soulless lived inside it. The only good piece of news was it was inimical to them more than any other place due to its nature. The void was exposed inside it so Fiend Qi would act like a magnet for it!

There was supposedly a safe place intact inside it but none had ever lived to confirm it.

Lind had filed it away but for the moment Din took the storage treasures and they made their way down the main road. The fine stones were brimming with Qi that gave them comfort but that was only inside the walls.

"Lord Frey, according to our information, the winds are at full strength. Should we not wait?" Din looked concerned but Lind only smiled.

"Normally, yes, but things have changed. I understand more now." He said nothing else as he raised his hands and a dark blue glow came from them. All were stunned as it was not his signature color.

The Icy Path normally inhibited travel Immortals were used to but Lind no longer felt such restrictions. He understood the minor chaos of the Icy Path far more easily than the spirit world.

Space was torn aside but it was not normal. It was a whirling tunnel that shimmered with ice! The feel of a cool breeze came from it but the guards could only stare as the small group stepped into a spatial tear where none should be possible!

The eyes of the demon from the moored building narrowed. Frostsoul appeared next to him but she only looked angry for a moment.

"I warned those old fools not to underestimate him. You should have made them bow to us while we could!" The demon rolled his eyes as he looked back at her.

"You and I both know these orders come from above. Even if we both think it unwise, we cannot overturn the Sovereign's command." The Frost Heart Sect was only a medium power but even they had a Sovereign Tier at their head in the 4th layer.

The Sovereign had been very clear.
