Chapter 1252 - 1251 - Soul Dancing
Chapter 1252 - 1251 - Soul Dancing
Lind stumbled after witnessing the birth of the aether child and turned to the old woman.
"I allowed you to see more than normal. We actively protect the nascent souls as they can easily be hurt otherwise." He nodded quickly. It was so fast his emerald hair whipped around to cover his face.
The kids laughed but he brushed it back as he took a calming breath.
"So communication is key but to wait until they are self aware?" The old woman's pale eyes went wide as all the kids paused too. They looked at him as if he was impossible. It was a look he had not seen in some time.
It was like when he made Protean so long ago and his friends had said he was insane to make a weapon that used his harmony to make every weapon possible.
The idea of a swiss army knife had never been implemented in the cultivation world so they could not grasp the concept.
"How much did you see?" She asked him as if it was critical so he relayed what he observed and his impressions. If they were shocked before, they now all looked at him as if he was a monster!
"You were able to read the soul like us?!" The little girl was hopping up and down in excitement but he frowned as it did not seem the same. They could read souls like a book. A single glance and they had it all, but he had to concentrate and focus.
If he let up for a moment, it would all slip away.
"It is more like I had impressions. I have helped heal souls and studied them extensively for that reason. Also, harmonies are tied to souls as well so it is required for us to study them to advance our harmony." Understanding came to them all.
"Still, to be so accurate when unable to read it is amazing. You are much farther along than I expected." The old woman had her head in one of her hands as she tilted to the side. She looked amused if nothing else.
"Well I would think it is more of a dance than anything else. I do not directly interact but feel the effects to respond in kind. I will need to actually become a partner to help them advance." His words seemed to make them confused so he turned to his usual partner in games.
"Come." He held out his hands and she accepted as he picked her up and twirled her. He lowered and raised her as she began to laugh. His eyes were glowing as he realized he could do more with weaving than he had ever believed!
She glowed to his eyes and he began to understand what she liked to what she disliked. He moved faster and allowed her to nearly go horizontal as she laughed wildly. He began to conjure elements as well as he seemed to feel she liked air and water to flow around her.
The old woman nearly stumbled as she saw complex conjuring of the elements just as the girl liked! How did Lind know?!
He slowed down and eventually set her down as she smiled up at him widely.
"What do you think?" She gave him a thumbs up as the other kids clamored for their turn. He spent a long time indulging them until they were all satisfied but it was highly instructive to him.
Lind was even able to split his attention enough to do up to 3 kids at a time. The golden sky filled with elemental Qi of all 18 versions at one point as he entertained the group but it exhausted him quickly.
Still, he learned a lot.
It was like he could use the aspects of weaving he applied to soul power and sigils to grasp his targets needs and desires.
It was like constructing sigils and connecting them with traces to others. He pictured his goal and what aspects he wanted to apply to his weaving but instead he used it to grasp an already existing target.
A frown passed over his face as he understood another use for such a skill. It made him extremely displeased and his displeasure was clear to all.
"What is wrong, Mr. Dragon?" He perked up at the little girl. She was always so interested in him but he did not hide his understanding.
"Weaving is a dangerous skill and I have encountered the darker side more times than I cared to. Still, it was at least clear the price would always be paid by the abuser. Yet, this new aspect reveals a darker path I have seen to. A path I never wanted to understand." Knowing what a soul needed meant it was also known how to use a soul as well.
Only 1 kind of being used souls like that.
His harmony flared as his anger increased. He understood as he slowly turned to the old woman.
"You were nervous and reluctant for some reason. The core stopped you from talking but you will tell me now. He was here, wasn't he? That damnable bastard was here! Tell me!" His voice thundered and all the spirits in the world felt a shift.
Lind was suddenly nearly on par with the core of their world! His presence seemed to become stronger as emerald light flared around him. His eyes were like 2 beacons of power that demanded obedience.
The world actually froze for a single moment before its chaotic nature resumed.
The spirits were intrigued. They did not feel danger, instead they felt invigorated! What was that strange feeling?
Lind did not notice it at all as he was focused solely on the old woman but she was not the one who answered.
"He was mean! He pretended to be nice but used us! He hurt so many people! He was bad!" The little girl was stomping midair as if it was nothing yet he knew he could only stay in the sky a little longer after exhausting his Qi.
Still, he got all the confirmation he needed. The thrice damned Great One had been in the spirit world!
His body began to shake as his anger exploded.
"DAMN HIM TO HELL!" Understanding flooded Lind as he slowly realized he was treading a similar path! The living soul of the bastard had come to the spirit world somehow and abused it to become the first Fiend.
The old woman was knocked backward but none could stop the flow of power coming from Lind.
Emerald flames expanded outward but they did no harm, far from it! They instead invigorated and inspired the spirits. They felt new ideas flow into them that they wanted to try right away.
Yet, they all turned in unison as a massive dragon appeared. It was not the false body carved out of their world like before but Lind, himself!
A roar of draconic rage filled the world as pressure returned. It was different from the previous tribulations. There were no black clouds and no sign of Heaven and Earth being angry.
Instead, it was a solemn feeling filled with grim determination.
[You will face him in the future willingly?] Lind's massive maw looked at the world with narrowed eyes as his 3 horns lit up with all 18 elements.
[I will make him pay! He will pay for everything he has done! All that have suffered and all that was lost will be restored!] His roar filled the golden skies and Heaven responded.
He could feel them now. The scars in the spirit world. Some were healing but there was a massive one directly at the top of the golden sky. It was a rip in the very fabric of life itself.
[That bastard will pay for it all!] Lind swore at that moment to never stop or retreat ever again. He made it his purpose to restore what that bastard had destroyed!
The Celestials had been wiped from existence and turned into monsters! They had been made into creatures that could only survive on other souls! Further, the materials on a fundamental level had been changed as well.
He did it there! The Great One had made the key step in the spirit world itself and had transformed all other worlds in his image!
[Your Oath is accepted and the burden acknowledged. You are restored, True Lord Lind Frey of dragons.] His soul shivered as power flowed into him. His vitality skyrocketed even more and his emerald flames transformed the golden sky as his essence returned to the height of being a True Lord.
It was different from before. He was not simply fulfilling the expectations of the dragons but truly embracing what it meant to be a True Lord. He was a defender of the cultivation world and must shoulder the weight of that.
He would return to a body and he would face the Great One as he always knew he would. Yet, it was not just personal revenge anymore but true defense of the cultivation world!
Lind suddenly got dizzy and collapsed. His dragon shape dispersed to reveal his human form. He was falling down until a massive amount of colorful orbs gathered to catch him. The situation had changed.
True Lords were not separate from them. They were part of the spirit world! Lind would know when he awoke. They gently laid him on the surface of the world as a stone slab appeared.
Unlike before, it was not just white but an intricate emerald colored stone! It was engraved with sigils to improve recovery of the soul! The spirits were not surprised at all. They let him sleep and waited until he awoke next.
