Chapter 1246 - 1245 - Ramifications
Chapter 1246 - 1245 - Ramifications
Lind was still in shock. He had not been willing to play with the kids nor really do anything for quite some time. The lack of day and night was bothering him a bit but it was really just a distraction from the revelation the old woman gave him.
It was not Heaven and Earth was the bridge between the spirit world and the cultivation world. Heaven and Earth was the SOURCE of it all!
"I suppose the egg came first then." The comment drew a smile from him but he doubted anyone would understand aside from Earth humans. He was mystified that while the world was covering it, he could not sense it at all but when exposed, it was like a mountain on his senses.
The world grew out of Yin and Yang releasing the Celestial Qi. Celestial Qi worked by directly manipulating existence. It transformed and grew with strength the more complex the change it enacted.
Natural Qi was like a counterweight to it. It was not as strong but could integrate and fuse to create new forms. It comprised natural existence.
That left the spiritual side.
Demonic Qi was actually refined Qi. It was more chaotic than natural or Celestial Qi. It allowed for the birth of souls, manifestations, and so forth. It was why there were no demonic aether children.
The souls themselves were only possible due to demonic Qi!
"True Qi, Refined Qi, and thus Physical Qi." Lind spoke aloud as he grasped the truth. It made sense now why demons were so much stronger than others. The Qi empowered their souls as well as their bodies.
He also suspected stability was an issue hence air became poison, water became acid, and so forth. They were the most stable form for each element to cause chaos.
He suspected many Divine Realms knew the full scope or at least they did. The loss of Celestials, which were a mystery to him more now, still led to a steep loss of knowledge.
All of it was academic but it did add a deeper understanding to the systems he had put inside his mind about the relationship between the elements.
He had only scratched the surface but it was a very deep scratch that time.
As to if it helped him, it really did. If the spirit world was the origin of the patterns of all existence, then it was more than feasible to build a body there. The issue was that physical existence was treated as very ephemeral.
It was not stable nor was it able to endure. His current state was purely a mental one. His soul took on the shape he was used to thinking of as himself. The spirit world just added to his physicality as a soul.
"Still, if all things originate here, then harmonies can be made too. It should be possible." Lind began to manipulate the 18 elements around him as he had done before but that time was to see if he could detect differences.
It was too damned easy for one! With a thought, 3 spheres formed with a blazing emerald flame at the heart of each. Celestial Qi made a vibrant emerald flame that felt like it could burn through anything. Refined Qi made a dim emerald flame but it was terrifying to his soul to even look at it. The Physical Qi was his normal one.
He was shocked, however, as he felt like he grasped more of his harmony at that moment. He never truly grasped the overall purpose it represented. He could heal amazingly well, wield any element given time and tempering, and finally empower others in their cultivation.
It was clearly supportive in many ways but then it could decimate Fiends with terrifying ease. It even seemed eager to, at times.
He fell into contemplation before he stood up sharply and all 3 spheres dispersed.
A ripple went outward from him like a minor shockwave but his own thoughts were in disarray. He broke through?! He reached the mid-Radiant Tier!!
How did that happen?!
He had no body and no way to progress his Laws or Qi! It was true he had done so to the limit of the low Radiant Tier but how did he suddenly break through?!
"Oi! Don't go making a fuss like that! It can hurt the little ones!" A sphere of azure light bounced around him with an old man's voice that morphed into a cranky old woman. Lind was shaken from his reverie as he bowed low.
"Sorry! I don't know what happened!" The sphere zoomed in at his eye level and actually smacked him on the forehead.
"You grasped a new level obviously! What, did you think a soul was so pathetic to be stuck where it stopped being with a body?! Where do you think you are?!" The sphere floated off but Lind was left with a massive revelation once more.
He could cultivate here?! He could advance?!
It seemed like a dream but it was likely to add to his burdens, not lessen them. More power was not the answer he needed. He needed to find a way to make or manifest a body with the help of the spirit world.
He did narrow his eyes though at a new thought.
"If I can cultivate, then I can weave. Weaving it the power of my soul and if I can weave, I can create!" His fingers lit up as a very simple 1st Circle sigil appeared in mid air. Unlike anything else he had tried, it stayed there completely stable.
He observed it until finally cracks formed and it dispersed back into the world at large. Lind felt his connection break just before the cracks formed.
"Let's start simple and work my way up. I hope I can get back to heal what I hurt." A sad look crossed his face as he recalled his Mother's state. She had given up. He could tell that she had lost the drive to progress.
It was not good.
His wives were in varying states. Some were seemingly fine but his sharp eyes noticed they were not as enthusiastic as before. Shoti had become reclusive. Annabelle was immersed with her children. Ethry had separated to spend more time with dragons. Kora stuck to the Frey Clan but Lysanna was right there with her with no easy smile anymore.
Qing was too cold and distant. She still smiled for her sisters and family but that was all. It worried him immensely.
Of them all, Cyntilla was the most heartbreaking. She had been a warrior without equal but now she devoted time to his own mother! She never left Mira's side!
Her own mother finally caught up but it was clear the warmth in all their bonds were strained. How much was his cold shoulder routine or his apparent death he was not sure. He could only hope he could return before most of that happened.
Compared to his wives, his children were handling it better from what he could see. He happily saw a reborn Hei holding several children with all smiles. He looked far older than he should but Lind was so happy he got to enjoy his life.
Zhao was older as well but seemed happy to spoil his nieces and nephews.
The rest of his surviving children seemed to all be enjoying their lives or growing in strength. There was a sad surprise in that group. His adopted children.
Fey was doing well. It seemed her heart was tempered but also he got the impression she still believed in him even as he was gone. She remained a terrifying warrior that far too many fools underestimated.
Tal, on the other hand, was a hollow shell. She no longer smiled nor seemed full of life. He also was not happy to see a massive scar that stretched down her neck past her collar. Why wasn't that healed?!
The other 2 notables in that group were Illyria and Feng. The pair of unlikely friends seemed to be trying to lift the spirits of those struggling and acting like a balm for the rest if they were having issues.
The glimpses told him a lot and his friends were not in many of the images he saw. It worried him that they could be gone from the world but death was a fact of life, especially in the battles against the Fiends.
He realized getting his body was the only way to mitigate some things he saw but he also would have to deal with the fact his return would have repercussions on him as well. He had a lot to answer for to his family and friends.
He sighed as he pushed aside his concerns and projections. He had to focus on making some concrete steps to rebuild a body for his soul. To start, his harmony was the key to any body he wanted to make.
His hands glowed as he began to weave at the 1st Circle. He created simple Qi gathering weavings that organized the chaotic flow of Qi. He was testing basic engravings to make sure nothing affected the spirit world negatively.
He had a long way to go and a lot to experiment with. He hunkered down and began his work as the spirits whirled around him.
