Chapter 1216 - 1215 - Pseudo-Dao Weapon
Chapter 1216 - 1215 - Pseudo-Dao Weapon
Pain was the first sensation to enter Lind's mind. It told him he was alive and it also told him he was in abysmal shape.
Pain was followed by a bad attempt to move his Qi that only increased his pain once more. Still, the Qi did move so his meridians and crystal still existed.
All of this was good news insofar as it applied to him being alive.
Light burned his retinas as he slowly blinked to find himself in an unfamiliar place. It was not the stone room of the infirmary of the tower and gentle breezes were coming in through the windows at the top of the pristine white walls.
Fine silk curtains surrounded his bed and he noticed several pale blue and green artifacts were on either side feeding him Qi and what seemed to be an elixir as well.
His curiosity almost made him forget to not move too much but the pain helped sharply remind him he was not well.
A tiny snore drew his eyes to the left to see the small fox girl curled up on a cushion sleeping. Her 2 tails were curled around her as her ears were flat on top of her head. She was in the fetal position but looked adorable.
He took a deep breath, felt both his lungs and ribs complain harshly about it, and identified more scents. There were far less demons nearby but he could tell other beasts were there.
It told him his likely location although he had yet to go there since he ascended.
"The Serenity Sect." All sects had essentially abandoned or reformed under the demons but there was a single exception. It had nothing to do with power but expertise.
It was one of many sects devoted to healing. They were not the best, but they were established in the 3rd layer epochs ago and quietly became firm experts in their field. Elixir masters and alchemists of middling ability would happily go there but supreme experts rarely joined.
Now, with the current state of affairs, they became the lifeline for everyone. The Knife Edge Bazaar was safe from the soulless horde but the Serenity Sect required dedicated protection.
It was also not easy to get in even if a Radiant Tier was involved. The issue was transportation and manpower. Getting around in the Endless Peaks was not easy or safe. The soulless aside, many natural dangers remained.
Manpower, of course, was due to the endless battles. If he was there with the fox girl, then something drastic happened.
He closed his eyes and let his body recover. He was awake so it would likely speed up healing as well.
He cast his mind back to the final strike. His desperate gamble had paid off.
It was true, Immortals could not harm Divine Realm cultivators, but he had jumped realms before. He was far stronger and had one advantage none there currently had, his harmony.
It was once just the culmination of 6 primary elements and his soul. It had grown and revealed startling powers no one suspected were possible. It had become a Law before he even grasped Laws himself.
As such, he focused on it and confirmed it was somewhere between a Law and a Dao. He knew so much more about it but the critical thing was he had confirmed the Celestial Fields had a spirit as well.
It had been harmed and crippled by the Realm Refiner and Sifter in the last 2 layers but they were gone. Time had passed and it had likely begun to truly recover.
He had touched it before and he did again. He had harvested the best Law Grade materials and further refined them with his Forging to the very peak. It barely made the sword.
After that, he used a weaving to fuse not elemental Qi but the essence of his harmony combined with what he had touched on when facing the bloodline array.
As a low Radiant Tier, he had just barely crossed the threshold into making a Dao Weapon. Dao could hurt Divine Realms and he infused the most basic Dao he knew.
His harmonic Dao. The illumination was a mystery to him but the power had been real. The instant he injured the wraith, its aura was revealed and the distraction brought down the lightning.
The fact he was alive was a miracle as well. He recalled severe pain to his soul and body before darkness claimed him. The healers must have kept him alive long enough for his life force to take over.
He checked himself over and froze as he saw his dantian. A Law Grade weaver had 7 circles but the 7th circle was changed to shimmer with the Laws fused to it. The sigils would be the same.
Law sigils could be used to make Law Cores, and so forth as well.
Lind, however, saw an 8th circle faintly formed! He had advanced his weaving!
It was not a restriction at all, but an increase!
He had no such barometer for his Forging or elixir mastery but he suspected the weaving could pull them up if he could comprehend it!
Weaving usually trailed behind but now it was ahead!
Life and death battles truly are the best opportunities for cultivators!
Lind returned to the world around him and noticed a scarred but handsome man in pale gray robes examining him. His eyes were vertically slit like Lind's but they went round enough to reveal what he was.
"Another fox I see. I thank you for your skills." Lind could not bow but he conveyed his thanks. The man nodded slowly before looking at another artifact above Lind's head.
Some kind of monitor.
"You have been unconscious for 3 months, Emerald Immortal. It is a miracle you are alive but considering your accomplishment, it was the least we could do." The words confused Lind. Surviving battle, even against a Divine Realm, was not exactly a noteworthy accomplishment.
The wraiths were also not able to leave the Whisper Peaks, so their destruction or expulsion was also not likely to get him such treatment.
His confusion must have been evident so the man smiled before summoning a jade stone.
"This has the most recent updates but the day you faced the Divine Realm wraith also triggered Heavenly Wrath across the Endless Peaks. The horde was engaged at Azure Fire Caldera when lightning smashed into them." Lind carefully used his aura and saw there was more.
It seemed the Divine Realm had identified the soulless as abominations or maybe there was something similar to a formation that reacts to Fiend weapons.
He was not sure but then his eyes narrowed as he realized an emerald spark was in the lightning. It was his harmony!
The pseudo-Dao weapon had reached across the 3rd layer?! He had been that successful?!
Questions bloomed but the weapon was gone. It was either destroyed in the battle or taken by Heaven and Earth. It could not stay regardless.
"Is it over?" The fox man shook his head.
"Many were wiped out and their corpses were quickly recovered to be disposed of. However, there were just too many but unlike before, only a tenth of the billions remain!" So, the soulless were still a threat and their numbers could grow but it would take time.
The most precious commodity had been given by him to the entire 3rd layer. Time.
The demons would not waste it and Lind actually was glad. It meant he could refocus his efforts on finding the source! The final facility the damned Great One installed in the Celestial Fields!
A sudden cough wracked his body and pain nearly sent him back to the brink of darkness.
A frown crossed the fox man's face but he took out a cylinder that began to emit light and water Qi as it moved up and down his body. The frown only deepened.
"You are still too injured but I am unsure where that cough came from. Now that you are awake, we can administer some pills and elixirs to you directly. Wait here." The man left and a small hand touched his arm.
He looked down to see the smiling and tear filled face of the fox girl. He could only smirk back as nodding seemed like tempting fate.
"The race memory is happy. I was also given a message and had to promise to stay with you until it was delivered." Lind narrowed his eyes but nodded.
"The Vile One knows and is coming. He is coming for you." Lind was not sure how he felt. If he was using a puppet, then it was nothing he could not deal with but if the Great One exerted his full power to make one strike at him, that was a problem not just for him, but the entire Celestial Fields.
A Divine Realm cultivator could destroy the entirety of the Celestial Fields!
"How am I alive then?" She shook her head. No answers, just the warning. It was unlikely it would happen instantly. The monster had too many enemies.
Still, it meant he had to leave. He had to get stronger! His bottleneck needed to be figured out and fast! Exhaustion washed over him as his body truly needed energy so he focused on that and did not see the worried expression on the fox girl's face.
