Chapter 1164 - 1163 - Purged
Chapter 1164 - 1163 - Purged
The visiting envoys found their courtyards cracked open like eggs by the Emerald Immortal only a day after meeting him.
Members of their parties were revealed to be Fiend agents, spies of wicked powers, or even just traitors for those powers on the edge of righteousness and wickedness.
The sheer efficiency terrified them until the truth came out.
The Vice Sect Master Peng of the Heavenly Maiden Sect was a Fiend agent! A very high up one too!
She had not only secrets about her organization, but others as well! The Fiends never let any avenue slip through their fingers.
The Emerald Immortal revealed his fangs to all and those that had not respected him before were left in awe.
There was one more high level person exposed from the envoys.
Elder Setheena from the Stonelight Guild was only a puppet! She had been turned into a living pupped at the command of a wicked sect! The moment Hannibal learned of that he departed the Rubyfire Kingdom for the north.
None had any doubt that the sect would be wiped from the face of the world.
There was a reason not to provoke Crystal Tier experts, even more so elites of supreme powers!
Princess Fyre was currently hosting the only remaining envoys. Gil and Tia were quietly snacking on the cakes she provided while the servants brought wine, ale, or tea as they desired. The 2 demons were the most calm while the rest had varied reactions.
The woman representing the Golden Vermillion Inn only went by Night Fire Immortal but even Princess Fyre had heard of her. She was a terrifying cultivator that had once wiped out a peak Immortal beast tide all on her own!
Very few had ever seen her face and even less were sure how old she was. She had lived for at least 7 million years but beyond that, no one was sure.
The final guest was the most irksome.
Adan was very handsome but he also seemed to possess a special gift of rubbing people the wrong way. Still, his power was the real deal. His legendary feats on the battlefield were one of the few praises to be given freely by others.
The true mystery with him was the fact he was married. He was practically a legend with his misogyny alone! He saw women only as tools for his use and other races as his servants! Aether children were enslaved in the Dawn Imperium but unlike other slavery, the Imperium was very strict about the care of its slaves.
A master could be severely punished for abusing their slaves, yet it was well known that Adan burned through slaves like they were candy! Yet, he never faced a single punishment!
"This is absurd! How can you just let that dragon run rampant like that?!" As if her dark thoughts summoned his acidic tongue, Adan shouted as he snatched the ale from the servant near him.
The others looked around nervously but no sign of an angry emerald dragon appeared.
"Considering recent events, I would think you would moderate your tone." Tia was not teasing anymore. They had all come for their own reasons but the terrifying power the Emerald Immortal had shown them was far beyond even the most insane rumors.
He could fly, use his full power, and seemingly twist space like it was his plaything! He was a complete Crystal Tier in a world that had long forgotten what their power was like!
Adan wanted to snort but a flash of the Emerald Immortal literally appearing in his courtyard to reveal a Fiend agent in his staff that was right next to him was hard to forget. Also the sheer power that had frozen him in place!
The humiliation would never be accepted by him!
"I had heard the rumors, of course, but surely Fellow Daoist Night Fire Immortal knew of his capabilities?" Gil calmly sipped at his tea as he glanced at the veiled beauty.
The phoenix among them calmly sipped at her tea but said nothing. She only shook her head.
"The guest's secrets remain secret, even from us. We only monitor for criminal activity or Fiend Qi. Outside of that, we will hold to the agreement." The demons seemed pleased but Adan sneered.
"You beasts–" Princess Fyre suddenly flared crimson flames that shut all of them up. The similarity to the Emerald Immortal was not missed as it was not fire at all! What was that Qi?!
"Prince Adan, while we have all suffered humiliation, as we are the host, I will not tolerate insults to my guests. Please refrain from that or be removed." Her hair and eyes seemed to glow in resonance to the crimson flames but that was not all.
The tainted Qi was much lower in the Rubyfire Kingdom, yet now it felt like it was gone entirely from their gathering! Only 1 reason could be given that made even the demons' eyes glint in greed.
There was a secret in the kingdom that all powers desperately wanted but before anyone could act, emerald flames doused hers away.
"You need to work on your emotions, Princess Fyre. I told you it will go out of control if you let it." The voice caused a cold sweat to form on everyone present save Fyre. It was gentle now, but none could forget the ruthless way the Emerald Immortal shredded his enemies like so much paper!
His precision combined with his power was terrifying!
"As to the issues from before, I apologize for my brusque methods but if given a chance, the various agents would have fled or hid before being able to be exposed. I could not give the time." The man in dark robes with the 3 prismatic badges bowed low but none were buying the humility.
The outfit alone made it clear he was standing above them!
A Triple Maester, Law grade at that, was equivalent to Radiant Tier in authority! Only the 4th tier of Immortals could contend with such an expert but now they all knew his battle capability was no less stunning!
How did he have the time for it all?
Princess Fyre bowed low and then sat down as the Emerald Immortal took the floor. She watched as the powerful envoys greeted him and even thanked him for purging their ranks of spies and threats.
She sneered internally as Adan finally became polite out of nowhere but none seemed to grasp the wall between them.
The Emerald Immortal could be amicable, warm, and friendly. He had shown his professional side to the local Stonelight Guild branch, but it was still fairly friendly as his daughter and disciple also became customers that made the guild very happy.
Elite experts had elite needs. Those were always profitable!
As the offers of gifts, exchanges, and other attempts to woo him commenced, she picked up on some nuance in his reactions. She had learned a lot from her grandfather about ruling the kingdom but her father had taught her that assuming a simple mind only had simple means was a dangerous thing to think.
He had been underestimated time and again only to leave his enemies dead in his wake.
He originally did not even want the throne but he had the most results out of his siblings with their technique.
Now, she was seeing the Emerald Immortal not only show how to use authority, but how to quietly intimidate with power. A king often has an advantage due to the power behind them but the Emerald Immortal was alone.
He had companions but it was his own power that spoke for him. His arrogance and confidence stemmed not from vain pride but true accomplishment. He knew his worth but did not get deluded by it.
He also recognized false offers from true ones. Adan was wasting his time. It was clear he had already burned the bridge but the man could not grasp it. Yet, the Emerald Immortal did not return his disrespect in kind.
He simply nodded and accepted or declined various proposals.
The only one to make any headway was Night Flame Immortal. She was not getting a warm reception but he was more open to her words.
The demons were acting far more serious than before but despite their earnest appeals, it seemed the Emerald Immortal saw several issues with their offers. Chief among them being the ire of the Dawn Imperium.
"Thank you for this chat. I need to speak with the Divine Sword Sect and Heavenly Maiden Sect once their issues have settled. I will let you know when I have made my decisions." Princess Fyre did not need to wait.
Only the Golden Vermillion Inn was currently getting any attention. The others were wasting their time.
She hosted a much more subdued group that slowly broke up until only Fyre was alone in her pavilion.
She let the servants clean up the food and drinks but contemplated all she watched previously. The Emerald Immortal had not promised anything nor become indebted to anyone despite the amicable words.
For a brief moment, she wondered why he was not ruling a power somewhere. He was a gifted negotiator from that single conference alone! His fierce takedown of his enemies also showed he was not naïve about the world.
An Immortal rarely would be but a Triple Maester sometimes focused on their skills to the exclusion of all else. Promising seeds were heavily protected like a greenhouse flower, but clearly the Emerald Immortal was a wildflower.
"Father, what have we invited into our kingdom?" They owed him a lot but his power had awed her to the other aspects the Emerald Immortal had. He was not a single focus being but a true powerhouse that could conquer their lands without even trying!
She shivered and thanked the spirits he was on their side!
