Chapter 1151 - 1150 - Emerald Haven
Chapter 1151 - 1150 - Emerald Haven
After making sure Bori had a firm grasp on his abilities to at least safely practice them, Lind made serious preparations for his seclusion.
It would be a long one and there were a few things only he could do.
He contacted the Stonelight Guild for some materials he could not easily gather in a short time. He also had to get more than normal since he had to purify them for his needs. His once robust Qi stone piles were rapidly drained due to that purchase alone but the Guild was thrilled.
As an investment, he also set up several elixirs, artifacts, and some rare materials he did not need from his ring. Chu would collect the funds afterward so they would all be fine.
Oz gave him some information as well but most of it was rumors or other whisperings from the dark. The man was good at getting information that was hard to find but Lind felt like he was holding back lately.
It was not so much that he was concerned by it but it felt like Oz was not going out as much as he used to over their journey.
Ever since they came back to a stable kingdom, he had rarely strayed from their courtyard. He did not push, however, as he did well and supported them.
The final thing he did was train Nana and Chu on the needs of Katerina. He emphasized how she had to temper her cores ahead of her foundation. It would be difficult at first but if they had any serious issue, they could interrupt him.
Katerina, herself, had wailed at him going into seclusion but he assured her he would be there if needed. He promised to come out as soon as he could.
He patted her head and spent a day with her. It was all play so she was in a much better mood to the point she waved at him as she left with Nana.
Jur then demanded the same treatment as Katerina! He had laughed at her request but did spend time with her.
After everything was in place, they had a massive celebratory feast for Bori. Gilgamesh had finally been free enough from his duties to join them and caught up with them.
During the festivities, he learned some information he had asked for.
Marquis Song was a happy grandfather to a healthy granddaughter! He was glad but he made a note to examine her as soon as possible. He knew what to look for after Katerina had given him an example to follow.
The party was still going strong when Lind excused himself. He had put it off as long as he could but he had to start working on his body.
The first step was creating a space he totally controlled.
Dimensions were the key rather than normal space as the materials had suggested. He had been on the right track but focused too much on the concept of manipulating space itself.
Manipulating dimensions also made it clear why it had to be anchored in place.
It was not like he could move an entire dimension no matter how he manipulated its shape!
He thanked all the spirits and any God listening for George's ranting.
There WAS a concept that aligned with his needs. Now that he knew it was dimensional manipulation, it reminded him of the time George volunteered to explain how starships worked on one of his favorite shows.
He never asked for such detailed knowledge but the passion was hard to stop once it started.
Still, the concept did have a basis in science. At least George insisted it had. Given all Lind had seen, cultivation could bridge the gap of theory to reality far more easily than technology.
What Lind was going to create was a space he could manipulate for his needs and move to his will. It would be unlike a storage treasure as it would be more like portable quarters and laboratory but it would only exist so long as its anchor did.
What he needed to tie it to was no less than his own soul!
Anchoring it to him was but one part, the other part was how it would move.
Essentially, he would become a fixed location for the space while the rest of the world would move around it!
Science fiction had given such a thing a name, subspace!
The hard part was he had no real idea how to do that part!
He started with simply manipulating dimensions. Unlike what cultivators understood, dimensions were more than the 3 directions and time. Variables of space created layers through which the void and even teleportation arrays traversed but never touched.
Lind knew it was like the metaphor Bori used. The reality around them was the surface of the blanket but it was wrapped around the stuffing no one saw day to day.
It was still space but it was beyond normal reach.
The ancient cultivators, trying to create special realms for personal use, must have stumbled on it by accident and then replicated it.
Inheritances and special realms were normally carved out of the Void or transported to other lands like the Divine Inheritances were made from memories made manifest.
It was a headache grasping the details but the overarching concept was understood.
He started with grasping a dimensional layer and manipulating it to see all he could do. He could create a pocket dimension like Bori had shown him but he frowned at how fragile it was.
It also was fixed in place as he expected. He walked around it and inspected it with his Eyes and Touch but was amazed to note he could only do so from the entrance he had created. From any other direction, it was as if it did not exist.
So unless the entrance was opened, it was beyond perception? That felt odd as Maester Atla had opened her personal space in the room he had been waiting in.
Clearly, there was a formation they had added to allow remote access but that would only work within a certain range. He could see normal formations blocking it outside the Stonelight Guild tower.
He could already picture a weaving to achieve such an effect but its limits were similar. Lind pushed it aside as he tried to fortify the dimension. Some weavings to stabilize space did help to that effect but he found them highly inefficient.
How did they make them so stable? He reviewed the materials but they were only helpful if he wanted to lock it in place. He saw how they used the existing room it was made in to anchor the space and thus make it far more stable.
Could he use something equivalent to that since he wanted it to travel with him? The obvious answer popped into his head but he dismissed the weavings first.
He wanted to see what would happen with his harmony alone.
Emerald Qi flowed like a river from his fingers into the dimensional space. At first, it simply gathered in the empty center, but then it flowed outward in tendrils to specific points on the border of the dimension.
He was curious as to why that was happening but he did not understand it. There was no weakness nor other difference he could sense. He observed as emerald Qi slowly dispersed until a shocking transformation occurred.
The once fragile dimension became rock solid! Its flimsy barrier became nearly impregnable.
Why? What did his harmony do?
He studied it and slowly began to grasp what happened. His harmony pulled the traces of elemental Qi in the barrier into matrices that layered on top of each other such that fire connected to fire, water to water, and so forth making a chain of all of it.
It also introduced the other 12 elements that gave it the power he now felt. The points it had touched on were refinement points! It used Celestial Qi to make demonic Qi to start the process.
He felt enlightened! He had been trying to use standard solutions but he had never thought to be so basic! Rather than weavings or formations, he could have just tried the elements themselves!
The once barely existing dimensional pocket now glowed with emerald light happily! He walked around it once more but a true shock flooded him then.
The opening moved with him!
Surely not! It could not have been that simple?!
Lind quickly moved around the room and the opening moved with him! The dimension moved as well but it made not a ripple in space! Why? How was it doing that?! It took him the better part of a month to finally trace the key.
The flow of emerald Qi had stopped but spiritual Qi still flowed into it! The entrance was enriched by it! His harmony had latched onto the dimensional pocket not just with elemental Qi but his spirit as well!
Still, he had found a few issues.
The biggest was he could not close the entrance! It was constantly open for all to see and even hop into! He was able to test that by pulling items with wind from across the room. It had no trace of his Qi on it after that but sailed into the space.
He had made massive progress but he had to fix that issue above all. The last one was also annoying. He could not enter it himself!
He tried to go in but nothing happened! He retracted his harmony and the space slowly returned to its fragile state. Still, he now had an avenue to explore compared to before!
"I will call it my Emerald Haven." He decided what to call it now that he had a method to create what he wanted. It was just a question of solving the issues. He smiled as he began to dive into his research! The thrill of discovery filled his heart and he could not be happier!
