The months after the attack were both harried yet peaceful. It was as if the beast overlords knew someone they should not provoke had come to the capital of the Rubyfire Kingdom.
Lind had not known his aura as a True Lord washed over the entirety of the fallen land. It was the extent of where the Crimson Harmony Law Crystal could cover. It was the reason that the quality was so much better than other areas.
He felt foolish not to realize why the Corruption and tainted Qi was so much thinner without Law Bindings was due to a harmony. It was the old assumptions about 6 elementals being lower than him that blinded him. He had been humbled by that mistake.
It took him a week to wake up. Time in which many repairs had been completed but only began the chaos for him.
The royal family had gone through some changes!
He met all of them after waking and was shocked. The current King and Queen were revitalized but also younger! The former king, previously gray and silver haired now had traces of dark red in it!
His eyes were also far more vibrant than before!
The 5 princes and 2 unnamed princesses also showed stunning improvements. The 5th Prince was the lowest cultivation but now he was nearly ready to advance compared to when they first met!
Prince Fyre, on the other hand, was completely shocking to him.
She had lustrous red lochs and eyes the same color as the harmony crystal!
Further, she was now a 6 elemental! Not just any 6 elemental, but the same damn one as the Crimson Harmony Law Crystal!
Due to that, he had expected her to suffer Qi deviation but she demonstrated the basics he alone taught 6 elementals! What was going on?!
It took a couple months of examinations and training to grasp that all of the royal family had seen his dragon body during his repair of the Crimson Harmony Law Crystal. Of them all, only Princess Fyre accepted the changes.
The rest thought it was a trial to fight or endure but still benefited from it clearly despite missing the point!
She had increased her strength, Arts, and even the depth of her Laws by stunning margins. She was well on her way to the Crystal Tier like it was easy! It made no sense.
The harmonic crystal may have transformed due to being nurtured by a legendary creature and a place that resonated but it still was from a World Realm originally at best. How could an Immortal be made into a 6 elemental by it?!
The crystal itself was showing slow improvement. The cracks were smaller but still there, yet the progress made all hopeful.
There were still some dangers. It could not currently withstand a tribulation as it had been doing in the past. He was stunned to learn he had been standing on a tribulation platform!
The Rubyfire royal family had a few screws loose!
Lind began to instruct Princess Fyre on her new abilities but also to learn from her what happened. The living soul of the beast had not surprised him. Once he woke up and things were not so chaotic and grim, he felt it slumbering away inside the heart of the volcano.
Even with no body, it remained near the crystal. It was likely also intended to be a final guardian if needed.
Such loyalty was truly a heartwarming thing.
The feeling in his soul made more sense but he did not even try to reach out to the expert. It had already said what it wanted.
The greater mystery was Princess Fyre having a harmony that already existed before! It was entirely new territory but the technique of the royal family led to some clues.
They faced all their tribulations directly under the crystal. How or why someone thought of such a suicidal idea but it meant that the harmony connected to each of their souls. Their compatibility was what dictated their abilities afterward.
Her father also had good compatibility but his battle maniac attitude prevented him from ever achieving what his daughter did. The instinct to fight and to affirm their established path as a cultivator was normal but taking risks could lead to stunning results.
In all, Lind felt like time flew by until a year later he was still in the Rubyfire Kingdom. In that time, while he trained several people and educated production experts, he hardly strained himself.
His soul, dantian, meridians, and body not only recovered but improved dramatically given the time to rest and recover.
He was not the only one.
Chu finally mastered her instincts fully to the point that she was nearly a different person! She still had a wild side to her but she was much calmer on average compared to before!
Jur had made dramatic improvements in her cultivation and broke through to the Moon Tier only 3 months after Lind repaired the damage to the Crimson Harmony Law Crystal.
She did not have any surprises in her dantian but her body changed dramatically! Her bestial features vanished and she became a pale skinned young girl with silky dark hair trailing down her back.
Her power was far above any human and her lithe body bent in ways that made Lind cringe. He could have sworn bones should break doing half the things she could but she was perfectly fine!
She favored robes over armor but her weapons of choice were gauntlets. She also wore special boots that could accommodate her last new ability.
She could fully transform into a massive panther with midnight colored fur and dark eyes. She did not have wings but she could fly!
He kept that particular ability secret but she enjoyed flying with him for as long as her stamina lasted.
Ranger also broke through to the Moon Tier but he had struggled to consolidate it. Once he did, he progressed decently but Nana left him in the dust in comparison.
She became a Sun Tier now that she could consolidate all Lind had taught her. She would not be able to become an Immortal anytime soon but she had leapt up to the Sun Tier like it was nothing!
She also lost her bestial features but unlike Jur and Chu, she could not transform. She seemed to be like a human with a faint beastial bloodline flowing in her veins. It marked her being forgiven from what he grasped.
Oz remained unchanged. It was not that he could not advance, but actively chose to not to. He seemed satisfied to die as a Crystal Tier World Realm. Lind knew reaching the Sky Realm might give him a few decades more but it could also consume his remaining life down to nothing.
Mills, after achieving mastery of her Battle Aura, stunned him too. She blew through the Gold and Crystal Tiers like they were nothing! Her tribulations were like a calm breeze!
Lind felt a twinge of jealousy as she seemed able to absorb her lightning bolts with little to no damage! He only learned then that Yin/Yang Nurture Physiques generally had easier tribulations due to the fact they existed to help others.
She slowed down a lot in the Sky Realm as her foundation needed work to expand and consolidate for the future. She was also able to confirm the orphanage under Marquis Song was never in any danger.
The capital was the only place attacked.
Lan showed dramatic improvement but not as explosive as others. He seemed to master his new strength so he got stronger without raising his cultivation. His body became insanely well muscled but unlike Jur, he did not get any dramatic flexibility with his transformation into a full white tiger.
The last 2 of his party were the normal ones.
Bori had yet to face his trial but he seemed to be looking worried as he struggled to advance. His tiger ears flopped often after his cultivation sessions. Chu was clearly going to be the trial holder but no one knew how to trigger it.
That aside, the other issue was Jur's active pursuit of him. It was not pure instinct like before, but true pursuit. He appreciated Bori knowing the difference and explaining how it was too easy to give in to their instincts.
Lind never had such a conversation with either so he was impressed.
Lind suspected the trial would be soon, whether the conditions were met or Chu decided to judge a possible mate for their daughter.
He prayed fervently for the former as the latter had a slim chance of survival.
The last member was the newest. Katerina was already speaking full sentences clearly but she still had tantrums as toddlers should. Her cultivation also was at the peak of the Body Refining Realm.
Unlike any toddler Lind had met, she had perfect control of her body. The downside was you had to keep a bloody eye on her at all times!
He had dedicated a portion of his aura to never leave her after the last time they found her on a ledge in the audience hall!
She had laughed like she was having a blast while Ranger looked like he lost a few centuries off his life.
Flashbacks came back to Lind that children had no fear! They gave fear to others!
She could breakthrough any day from what he could tell but he was unsure if there was ever such a thing as a Soul Realm 2 year old!
Overall, the rest period helped all advance and recover. The Rubyfire Kingdom enjoyed a year of peace but a frown crossed Lind's face before a tired sight escaped him.
It seemed his peace was coming to an end as he looked to the north. Powerful auras approached and he wished fondly they were not there for him but his luck was never that good!
