Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1083 - 1082 - Brawler Elemental

Chapter 1083 - 1082 - Brawler Elemental

The dragon loomed over the stage but did not endanger the crowd. A huff of air ruffled her blonde hair but Nissa did not bow down! She was facing a beast just like all the other times! She would not let it win!

She let go of all her restraints as all 6 natural elements filled her crystal to the brim. Her crystal took on the shape of a fist, appropriate to her life. She had been an orphan in the streets of Kirn far to the east and north.

It was a lawless place even in the current age but she had survived it until the Heavenly Maiden Sect sent disciples to attack the wicked sect ruling there long ago. She did not even recall their name but she remembered the pristine white robes.

The fierce look in their eyes as they thwarted their enemies and brought hope to the town. She had followed them immediately to be recruited into their sect. Her future had no other path!

She had already been a World Realm at the time and had faced the tests to enter the sect with fervor few had shown in her generation. It was now nearly 2 million years later and she hated the world more as time passed.

Vile forces still killed the innocent but nothing was more repugnant to her than men. They were the source of all the things wrong in the world! She despised the guest elder system her Sisters used at times.

Now, a beast was somehow enslaving a fellow Sister. She had not recognized the woman but her robes named her a fellow warrior! Nissa could not allow it to continue.

The elements surged to strengthen her body and soul at the same time. Her Art was something she had created herself. It was primitive and simple at the beginning as she only had earth, darkness, and light to use back when she started.

She had refined and honed it until she could increase her battle skill 7 fold for s brief time. She did so right then and launched herself into the air at the dragon looming over her!

The emerald scales were so bright like jewels but the eyes were clearly bored. The man did not even see her as a threat!

Her bracelets allowed her to add effects to her attacks and she did so right then as blades of air and space shimmered around her body. Compared to before, they were also far more powerful!

Before the Corruption, she was rated as being able to take on a low Radiant Tier and the power now surged in her body! The Qi consumption was off the charts unlike it once was. The tainted Qi was so damned efficient!

All cultivators struggled and many beast clans were decimated by that fact alone yet now she faced a beast that defied the current order! He had to be the cause of it all! She knew it in her heart!

Her blades sliced through the air with ease but shock filled her as they bounced off his scales. He did not even move! He did not counter attack or use Qi against her! She could tell!

[If that is all the strength you can muster, I suggest we end this.] The silky smooth mane suddenly stood on end. That same aura filled the air like before but only around the mane!

Nissa increased earth and darkness in her body to the brim as needles were launched at her! Even she was not so foolish as to underestimate dragon materials. The mane of a dragon could be used to make nigh impenetrable clothing if refined properly.

Using it as a weapon was quite common.

She sneered as her legs shot out but then she was sent spinning instead of deflecting as she had planned! The damned dragon could control the projectiles at will?!

The force was insane! How could such a fine thing be so strong?!

She raged inside as the stone scraped some skin off her legs but she stood back up quickly and raced back at him. Dragons were not invulnerable. They could die like anyone else, it just took more!

Fire seared her veins as pain vanished from her senses and the world blurred as lightning surged in her muscles.

She was called the Brawler Elemental due to her style and those that underestimated her had all been buried long ago.

She screamed as the sound of thunder came from behind her. He could not stop her in time! She was sure.

A tail slammed into her and smacked her into the stone arena as if swatting a fly.

How?! How was he able to retain his full power?!

She could only dredge up a tenth of her old strength at best, maybe 20% if she pushed her skills beyond safe limits but this creature was at ease above her.

Emerald energy surrounded him as he shrank back to the shape of a man. His emerald hair and fine features angered her.

"If you withdraw the insult to my wife, I will forfeit victory here. No one will die regardless but all I care about is Shoti's honor." Nissa bristled at him. How dare he?!

"You dare to claim you honor her? You are just a beast! No Sister would ever willingly–" A fist slammed into her jaw. His bored expression vanished and was replaced by rage. His emerald eyes were like 2 furnaces that pinned her in place on the ground.

"I do not know who wronged you in the past, but if you insult my family once more, you will die here." Nissa felt small. She felt powerless. She hated it!

"I will not bend to the oppressors of the world! You all deserve to die for what you have done!" Her rage against men was not unknown but she refused to leave a Sister in bondage. All the fire in his eyes suddenly went out.

"You are not wrong." His quiet words shocked her more than any strike against her. His fingers suddenly lit up and sigils were swiftly conjured and connected. It was a powerful ward but she felt no threat from it as it encircled the pair.

A long sigh escaped him as he knelt down in front of her and he produced a pendant. It was a simple stone but she recognized it was precious to him the moment he brought it out.

"I will make this short. I have no father, at least not in the traditional sense. There was a man who touched my mother but she trapped him to avenge my dead aunt. Do you understand?" He was looking right at her but his words pierced her soul. He was not lying, she could tell.

"Is she alive?" He shrugged.

"I do not know. The last time I left her she was safe but it has been almost 20 years since then. I can't reach her at the moment. I can't reach my family but this was the first thing I was given when I began to cultivate. It was from her." He smiled at it and that smile was so gentle and full of pain that Nissa felt her anger fade at long last.

"It was you." It was 3 words but he scratched the side of his cheek as he nodded.

"I am responsible for that light show a bit ago, yes. I had to make the dragons stop being pests as there are far greater concerns. The bloodline array was but one threat and not even the greatest. The Corruption isolates this layer still." His words were true but she still had trouble accepting him.

He could see it in her face and sighed.

"I destroyed a kingdom to avenge my aunt and many others. I can't prove that aside from an oath but I did it. For a long time, I could not forgive my own sex. My wives are what healed me. I am still healing but I am much better than I was. My heart demons were nasty things." He then stood up and dispersed the dome.

He looked down at her and waited.

He was ready to kill her. She could tell but he wanted her to understand. He wanted her to understand because he saw the world the way she did!

"What is her name? Your mother?" He cocked his head to the side but could not seem to grasp her need for her to hear the name.

"Mira Frey." Her eyes arched at that. His name was not the same but again she felt no lie. It was not what she was looking for anyway. It was the same tone. The tone she held for her own mother.

Only someone like her would recognize it.

She dispersed her Qi and knelt on the ground.

"I hereby retract the dishonorable words I spoke. No one like you could harm a Sister. I was wrong." The crowd was shocked but not more so than her opponent. A dagger appeared in her hand and she swiftly struck at her own neck.

A duel of life and death had to be honored.

Before the blade could strike home, the air around her became thicker than steel! The blade was a mere millimeter from slicing her open but could not move any further.

"I believe I said no one would die here today. Your foolishness is not my concern." The man then looked up and the air around him shifted. A desire to kneel came over her unlike anything she had ever felt before.

[Per my authority as the True Lord of Dragons, this duel is over. No one dies. I have spoken.] Nissa felt the world bend to his will! She could not kill herself! She could feel the option was closed off!

The sky rumbled but he seemed to narrow his gaze at it.

"Steep price for fixing stupidity but so be it." She heard his mumbled words but then saw his head snap towards the war towers.

"I must go!" He crushed a jade stone and all were shocked when a weaving appeared that made the air shimmer. A teleportation array that worked?! How?!

So many questions came to her head but the crowd was shaking with rage at the promised death being taken from them! Nissa could only stand in the arena and be filled with questions.

All her certainties had been shaken up and she began to wonder about her future and her past. It would not be until much later that she realized she no longer thought of Maester Taren Cord as a threat.
