Chapter 1060 - 1059 - Shadow vs White

Chu had felt a tremor in her body before Husband returned. She had been surprised at how quickly he returned but the reaction of her body was more interesting to her.

Jur also suddenly perked up and looked over as he appeared with 2 bloody men at his side.

Jur ducked behind her but it was not fear in her eyes. It was awe!

Chu sneered as her own reaction was the opposite. She felt superior!

"Master! You have a place like this?" The younger of the pair seemed to reveal his youth but Chu narrowed her eyes as she felt their cultivation realms!

Star Tiers! They were both Star Tiers!

The older was at the peak, on the cusp of the Moon Tier, while the younger was clearly only at the low Star Tier but such power in such youth was stunning. A suspicion arose in her mind and her Husband confirmed it.

"Do you recall the Heavenly Maiden Sect? This is one of their war towers. War Maiden Katara has allowed us to reclaim this and other towers. You will stay here–" He reacted to her attack by catching her wrist with ease.

She was reminded how terrifyingly powerful he was despite how often he studied and talked about his Dao compared to battle. Her heart raced but his dark face made her focus on the present.

"Something you want to tell me, Priestess Chu?" She had heard many tones to his voice, but the bottomless chill in it now scared her like nothing else. Her blood wailed as his full authority was brought to bear!

She had crossed a line!

"I am sorry, Husband. My blood called out to establish their place in our power. It was my mistake." Chu was truly sorry. She had trained hard to control her instincts but that one had been incredibly strong.

"Do you 2 have the same excuse?" It was only then that Chu realized emerald restraints held the 2 men. They looked at her fiercely but the younger one was clearly fighting it.

"The–blood–surged!" Husband's eyes narrowed. He then sighed before a stunning aura washed over them all.

[Behave. We are all allies against the Fiends.]

Chu felt her bloodline retreat and saw the 2 men were the same. Jur was the only one unaffected as her reaction had been peaceful.

Her arm was freed as were the 2 men who looked apologetic.

"So, Failed Awakenings can hear race memory as well under the right conditions?" The words made Chu blanche! Failed Awakenings were so rare and she could tell at glance it was not the 2 men who obviously failed but their parents.

The odds of 2 brothers failing were extremely low!

A parent spawning 2 children after they failed on the other hand was possible.

However, the power of the 2 men was odd if they were failures. They should not be so young and progress so quickly. How had they done that?

"Chu, these 2 were taught by me for a short time but I could not resolve their body issues. It is not as simple as what I did for you and Jur. They are not scorned or hated, so I could only work on their foundations myself." He made it sound simple but the things he had done bordered on the miraculous no matter how she looked at it!

Her condition alone was something beyond the realm of belief but he made it sound like resolving the issues of Failed Awakening was a minor inconvenience!

"Papa, they are amazing!" Jur suddenly spoke up and drew all their eyes. Amazing? Them?

Husband also seemed confused but then something seemed to occur to him. She felt his eyes change as they sometimes did and all the secrets of the world were revealed to him. While he could make her heart race like no other, that look made her shiver every time!

"Amazing indeed. How did this happen?" He seemed confused but then his aura returned.

[Old Tiger, you are watching?] Chu felt something shift in her blood but it was not her race memory that answered. It was Jur!

Her face did not change but her eyes shifted slightly. Chu became guarded but Husband waved off her concern.

[We are not at your beck and call, True Lord Dragon. Yet, that toothless fool won't come. Your defeat of me is the only reason I will answer this once.] The Shadow Tiger! Jur was still connected to that meddlesome old man!

Chu felt a twinge in her body but Husband only smirked.

[I thank you. How has this happened to the 2 brothers?] Chu still did not get what was going on but she heard a chuckle in her mind.

[They have been inspired by you for starters. A True Lord training failed beasts means a lot even to those outside their race. Also you said it yourself. We are all enemies of those cursed Fiends. They have met the conditions for their trial. It will be up to them to grasp it.]

The feeling of the spirit vanished and Husband seemed satisfied.

"Lan and Bori. We need to talk. Chu, please come with me." She followed him and realized suddenly the urge to establish herself over the 2 brothers had vanished!

That infernal old goat had influenced her! She was sure of it!

Her race memory was placid but she scoured it trying to find the old tiger.

Normally, race memory was both passive and like any aspect of cultivation, up to the comprehension of the individual.

She and her daughter, however, were produced by stealing the bloodline from an unwilling ancestor long ago. They had not done it themselves as it was over a million years ago, but they were still held accountable until Husband intervened.

The more she saw in her race memory, the more impossible what he did seemed. How did he conjure the ancestral spirit to release Jur and her but even more, the origin ancestor as well to heal her?

A progenitor had many powers but none she could dredge up were like him.

What made him so different?!

They entered his work area that had heavy wards to protect those outside. A cold forge, cauldron, and even materials storage greeted them. She had watched him work but it made no sense to her at all.

Despite being a Priestess, she did not have any Arts or techniques to go along with her title. She was more just a protector of her bloodline in her former village.

"It would seem you 2 have changed your fortunes since we last met." The 2 brothers looked stunned but not at his words. They were stunned he knew.

"It was a voice a year ago for me. Bori heard it when he broke through a few months ago. It felt terrifying." Bori swiftly nodded and he looked adorable to Chu right then!

"What did it say?" Husband brought out some tea but their words froze them both.

"In the shadow find your path." The older brother was bad enough but the younger added to the issue.

"In black scales and emerald strength you will endure." It made no sense to her but the descriptions perfectly matched herself and her daughter! How was that possible?!

"You said a year ago? Exactly a year?" Husband's words snapped her out of it but then Bori shook his head.

"I think it was longer than that for Lan. Maybe after he broke through almost 2 years ago or not long after. I am pretty sure." The older one, Lan nodded then in confirmation.

Chu felt her blood freeze in her veins. Only 1 even lined up with that timeline! Her healing and Husband's confrontation with the origin spirit!

He seemed to realize the same as he sighed as he nodded.

"So the White Tiger wants them to overcome the Shadow Tiger." He glanced at Chu and shook his head. He did not want her to reveal that the younger one must face her in particular.

A Star Tier stood no chance against her, that was certain.

Why only the one, though?

"What will we do, Husband?" He actually seemed unsure.

"It is not under my purview and I need to get back out there but these 2 need some training. Can I leave it to you?" She was startled but then smirked.

"Not a problem. I take it you do not mean to fight as humans?" He nodded but then shook his head.

"No, do both. War Maiden Katara needs something to do now that the formations are repaired. Until we repair the towers themselves, she will need a way to keep busy. Jur should start training too. It is time." She nodded.

Jur was still mentally young but her body was maturing quickly. Her instincts would start to rear their ugly head too. It was time to train her to control them as well.

"Lan, Bori, my mate here will train you. Our daughter Jur will join you for that as well." Both men blinked for a moment before exclaiming with shock.

The older had his jaw hung open while the younger was beet red!

Husband merely smirked as he vanished once again! He left her to deal with it all! She actually felt a little touched but then smiled in a way that sent chills up both men's spines.

"Let's get you healed up first then begin!" They ran after her and both reeked of fear. Good. They were right to have a little fear of what was to come!
