Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1052 - 1051 - Oath vs Bloodline Array

Chapter 1052 - 1051 - Oath vs Bloodline Array

Lind felt like they had gone back to square one as a woman was slowly rotating over the exact same platform as emerald panels relayed her condition to him.

Of course, he had more help with the current patient.

Chu stood opposite him and her normally cold demeanor actually looked in awe at the broad shouldered War Maiden's body.

He could understand that. She should be long dead.

Half her organs were almost calcified into Qi stones. Her azure eyes were one of the few organs still flesh in fact! Her crystal was barely held together by something he did not fully recognize.

It was not exactly Qi but it felt very close. The only thing he could pin to it was karma but it was neither gold nor black! What was it?

"This woman is worthy, Husband. I had doubts about her being our ally but anyone that can withstand this and live cannot be doubted." He really needed to work on her interpersonal skills but at least she would not be cold to the War Maiden.

With Jur, she was actually quite sweet and doting. Nana only had her gratitude for trying to protect her daughter but that was all. Jur's own cute defense of Nana likely played the larger part of it.

Lind just pushed it aside as he tried to assess if there was anything he could do. The impurities and tainted Qi were removed for the moment but the bloodline array was constantly trying to reassert itself.

The 3 women had been protected by his artifacts like Delenn, but Chu needed no such protection really. He simply took no chances.

She was transformed by his blood but she still had no harmony.

War Maiden Katara had been at war for over a year by his rough guess. The Oath, which he did not know the full wording of, likely had to do with keeping her memory or finding the truth of the world.

Such Oaths were binding and the bloodline array was anathema to that. Thus, war.

Heaven and Earth were fair but not babysitters. If a cultivator knowingly made an Oath with the consequences in mind, they would not act beyond the Oath.

In other words, the battle between her Oath and the array had slowly refined her own body! Such intense Qi forces were never meant to be contained in a single being!

It presented some interesting dilemmas not only for healing as technically there was nothing wrong with her, but also he had no idea what to do about the array and her Oath.

He could protect her with an artifact to prevent the array from assaulting her but compared to Delenn or his other companions, she was deeply ingrained with it. The war had thickened the effects of the array over the last million years!

It had now been woven even more firmly into her body as well due to the conflict with her Oath!

"What were you thinking?" She could not answer him as he had induced sleep, but the strain on his wards was increasing exponentially. He could burn it out again but the force needed would be as great as when he purified the Divine Ruin!

That kind of battle would be unwise.

Chu's violet and emerald eyes narrowed at her panel.

"Husband, this vile thing inside her is in her crystal. It is surrounding her elements like a root trap." He touched the floating emerald cover and his display shifted to see that issue as well.

Putrid crimson tendrils were tightly woven inside her dantian. His eyes narrowed at something that was missing.

"So that's how you survived." She looked up and he held up his hand. A pure flame appeared made of Laws. Her eyes went wide before quickly manipulating her controls.

Laws were what he was sensing before. She had given her Laws over to Heaven and Earth! How insane was she?!

By ceding her Laws to the Oath, she gave it more power but clearly not enough! Her elements and foundation on one side with Laws on the other were clearly not equal.

The war was a delay tactic at best. She had months at best!

"I have heard of the War Maidens but this is the first I have ever seen. If she is representative of them, they are to be feared." He could not argue against Chu's words.

"I don't know if I can save her. The damage is too extensive even without the conflict ongoing as well, the calcified organs would have to be replaced rather than healed." He could not convert stone to flesh.

He could remove it, certainly, but that presented its own problems. Her heart would only have a few slivers of flesh left for instance!

The final analysis revealed the stark condition she was in. The 2 forces were going to kill her by turning her into a giant stone!

"Is the big lady going to die?" Jur was still childlike in her words but her mind was able to comprehend far more than a year ago. Her advancement was similar to his own children in the Frey Clan.

Hei could not speak like his siblings but he grasped things very quickly even as a Soul Realm dragon.

Chu actually became warm and knelt down to be at the same level as her daughter.

"Your Papa is strong but we are not Gods. She is a brave and powerful warrior but that is not always enough." Lind felt a tightness in his heart as Jur scrunched up her face. Her tiger ears flicked back as tears formed in her eyes.

He went through all his elixirs, artifacts, and even some of the more exotic items before he froze.

There was something he had not yet used!

He summoned a jade vial that was cracked but holding a volatile essence inside. He had been allowed to keep it but he had no idea what it could do! He had no reference!

Identifying a material is one thing but the various applications needed experiments and careful records to see what he could do with it.

[Master, I should warn you a Black Lotus, even in pills, was never used for healing. Elixirs have more flexibility but you do not have comparable materials to integrate with it. Further, outside the Ruin, the Qi of the 2nd layer is far from sufficient to pull off a trick like you did before.] Haro warned him but he was not thinking of such a risky thing.

He was thinking of something dangerous but doable. His Eyes poured over the essence and it hurt just to look at! He was far from ready to grasp its finer points but he focused.

Essence was but one part of elixirs. He knew what he wanted and he waved his hand over the prone form of War Maiden Katara.

She slowly awoke and panicked at first but then calmed as she saw him.

"What manner of artifact is this, Guest Elder Frey?" Chu looked up sharply but he held up his free hand to ward her off.

"No time to explain. You are dying. I may have a way to save you but it will most definitely hurt. Death is the most likely outcome but I am unsure what would happen if you survive either. Do I have your permission to proceed?" He felt deja vu but unlike before, it was not a battle with a bloodline ahead but something that should not exist in the Celestial Fields.

He honestly had no idea what was going to happen. It was more that they had nothing to lose from trying.

She smiled up at him before flexing her arms. He smirked as he knew what she wanted. The massive sword she had was chipped but intact.

He put it in her arms and she looked up at him.

"I refuse to be blind anymore. I am glad we got to meet one more time. I will also charge you with a duty." He summoned his token and held it in his left hand. She looked at him harshly but spoke with the full authority the sect had given her.

"End that damned war and make the bastards pay!" He smirked at her.

"Already on my list but I officially accept the mission." His token flared and she smiled up at him.

He then became grim as he erected quintuples of the wards he had made before. Chu took Jur out of the cavern and began to inscribe formations into the wall itself.

[Restore.] He invoked his True Lord authority on the essence. He felt some of his vitality slip away but not as much as he had hoped. He then crushed the vial against her skin as his own Qi pushed it into her.

Screams came from her as power far beyond anything she could withstand entered her body but the crimson veins flared as well.

She would live or die in the next few moments.

The essence flared as if enraged but instead of lashing out at him, it attacked the partially refined body it had been forced into.

His eyes widened in shock at what he saw.

The calcified organs were ripped apart into mist but then rebuilt instantly! The bloodline array that he would struggle to purge was wiped entirely from her body and crystal with ease! If that was all, it would have been a resounding success but life was not so kind.

Her Laws were going wild! The Qi was not much better as her meridians lit up like suns! She was going to be crippled!

He slammed his harmony into her body but was sent flying the moment he did so. Pain lanced in his own body but slowly subsided as the traces of the essence left him. Katara never stopped screaming but she also held onto her sword.

Had he failed? Was she going to be ripped apart right in front of him?

He suddenly realized the tainted Qi was completely removed from the cavern! He summoned Celestial Qi instantly and channeled it into a healing Art.

Unlike before, he was not sent flying. Celestial Qi was not rejected!

All he could do was siphon the excess essence away as quickly as he could while keeping her alive. It was solely up to her will to survive!

The meridians and crystal slowly dimmed as the raging energies settled in her body before he collapsed. He could only hope he had done enough as darkness closed in.
