Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1044 - 1043 - Lost Priestess

Chapter 1044 - 1043 - Lost Priestess

Why was it always that way with his luck?! Did he have some curse on him?

He suppressed the sigh that wanted to escape and waited for his guests to arrive. He was calm as the 3 finally came into his physical sight. He looked at them briefly but did not react as they froze in place.

It was not him they were staring at anymore, but the bundle next to him. His nose filled with the scent of surprise and then fear.

Rolling his eyes as he knew they were jumping to conclusions, he lit up the night with simple balls of light.

"Piece of advice. If you get warned of the power of your visitors, assume they can detect you." The 3 figures tried to hide but he extended his hand and gravity shifted around them as he pulled them onto the stairs with the pair of them.

The small girl finally shot up in a panic.

"No hurt! Please no hurt!" His eyes narrowed at her childlike pattern of speech but it answered his question. She was far younger than she appeared.

"I will not harm them. I have no intention to harm anyone." The trio did not seem convinced at all but the night stretched out as he glanced down at the other villagers waiting for a signal or something.

"The beasts are returning soon. Your people need to come home. Call them. This place is yours. I only have questions." He felt their shock but the little girl suddenly blurred to his senses which shocked him.

How fast was that?!

She appeared with her arms spread wide and pale violet eyes full of tears. Desperation was clear off of her as the dark tunic and pants let her nearly blend in under the starlight.

"No hurt!" Lind realized she did not understand him before he put a hand to his forehead. Of course, she was only a World Realm. She could not understand his words!

If she was so young, she could not interpret his intent at all!

[I am no threat, little one. I am the one that healed you and brought you here. This place remains yours alone.] He projected his voice to them all which made all 3 kneel instantly. The little girl finally relaxed and fell to her knees in relief.

Thinking to save time, Lind expedited matters.

[To all that can hear my voice. Your homes await you. I found a young girl in the jungle and brought her here. Please come if you are her guardian.] He gave no command but his power was clear.

If he wanted, there was nothing they could do to stop him.

The villagers in his range rushed forward, climbing the trees as easily as walking! It was fascinating to see such expertise but one in particular was leaping trees like they had no desire to live at all!

The trio stayed kneeling which confused Lind. Why were they not helping the girl?

"Jur!" A woman suddenly leapt over the lip of the stairs and hugged the young girl. Her fur was very dark and she was still a beast kin but she was also at the peak of the Sky Realm.

The little girl wailed openly as she clung to the woman.

Lind began to piece things together. It seemed the little girl had not come from the village exactly. She was definitely a native, but the reactions were like they had not seen her for some time or had not expected to see her at all.

He felt no other Sky Panther no matter how much he tried. Other beasts came back slowly but his aura was still lingering so they avoided the village.

He did not rush things but the 3 kneeling winged beings were starting to aggravate him.

"Pardon me, but are you the leader here?" The woman flinched before quickly bowing with her head to the ground.

"Great Lord! Please do not take her! I will do anything!" Lind began to wonder if he should just leave but the fear filling his nostrils was too strong. What was going on here?

"I am not here to take anyone. I found this girl almost dead due to the results of the impact. No one else was near her. Explain to me why you are all acting like this?" He put on the mask of an Emperor. It seemed appropriate.

The woman flinched and Jur, as she was called, whimpered next to her. Lind sighed.

"Speak." The woman looked up and he narrowed his eyes as the same pair of violet eyes were in the woman's face.

[She is a blood relative, Master but she can only be a step-sibling or maybe an aunt.] Lind was glad Haro volunteered such information. He had to find a source of information soon!

"Jur is only a year old. The Great Lady said she must be used to find the Priestess Chu." He found that woefully inadequate as an explanation so he went for a direct assault.

"Why would a Sky Panther be used for anything? Where are her parents?" His words finally got a reaction from the trio. He struck while the iron was hot. "I know what Jur is. I know what you are. I want answers now."

The leader of the trio finally pulled down his mask of black cloth to reveal an older man. He had a fine set of scars on each cheek too equal to be from battle.

[MASTER, KILL THEM NOW!] Haro suddenly shouted in his mind but something washed over his body at that moment. Lind felt something try to restrict him but his harmony flared and it dispersed it. He looked calmly at the man whose steel eyes looked at him fiercely.

"He is bound. Take him." The other 2 moved like lightning but Lind only let them get in range before his hands snapped out to grasp their throats. Shock spread in the man's face.

"I do not take kindly to being attacked. I brought this child back to her home and demanded answers but I was given vague responses and attacked. What part of this village can be reduced to cinders on my whim you do not understand?" It had been a very long day and he no longer had the patience for so many new changes.

[Master! They were not given the blood willingly! It was taken!] Some pieces fell into place but he noticed the woman was still clinging to Jur. Confusion on the child's face gave way to more wailing.

He sighed as he set down his attackers.

"I have no desire to kill you at the moment. Start talking or crippling will ensue." His cold tone left no room for argument.

"Lord Immortal! We cannot defy our ruler! The girl must be–" Lind blurred and took the old man into the sky! It had become uncomfortable confronting them in front of the child.

The cloudless night sky was cool on his skin as the old man was clearly terrified.

"Speak, or die." His eyes were cold emerald ice as he looked at the man.

The old man only glanced down before defeat finally appeared on his face.

"When the Corruption swept the land, my ancestors captured a Sky Panther Princess. We took her blood and used it for ourselves but we became beast kin rather than part of their bloodline. Then a young master seduced the Princess and had a line of children start that became our priests and priestesses." Anger flared in his heart but the man went on.

Essentially their human blood allowed the Sky Panther's blood to survive the Corruption. In the million years since, they had carved out a life deep in the jungle away from prying eyes until the sect war finally found them.

The beast bloodline was valuable and the family had been picked off as some kind of offering to the sect holding the area.

The man knew nothing of their name as they never gave it but the description of green and black robes narrowed it down for him from Delenn's descriptions.

"Jade Dream Sect. A demon sect!" Lind knew humans were part of it and the old man described a human as well. Demons ruled it but new bodies were always needed.

They were experts at using the body to create illusions in battle. Their enemies would not be able to track their movements properly and at times felt like someone was fighting a dream.

A strong high level sect according to her.

Demons would not approve of what he was hearing but the damned bloodline arrays would make that all moot!

He flew back down as he was nearly at his limits but now there were a lot more kneeling people.

He now understood why. They had not seen an Immortal outside the human that took their Priestess Chu in the last 500 thousand years!

Lind let the man go but he collapsed to the ground bonelessly in terror. Flying was a lost skill so far as they were concerned.

"When is the Immortal due for Jur?" The old man had not know but the woman shivered at his question. She clasped onto the child tightly.

"She will be back tomorrow if Jur does not arrive on her own." Lind nodded and then assumed a lotus position. Why hunt an enemy when they would deliver themselves on their own?

It was better to prepare to fight instead. He exuded an aura to scare off the people and they left him in peace. It was going to be another long day tomorrow.
