Chapter 1028 - 1027 - Through the Barrier
Chapter 1028 - 1027 - Through the Barrier
Lind ached all over. The Soul Balm Elixir was derived from the Fiend husks but mostly because he had been trying everything to heal the other puppets in that cursed empire. It had taken centuries to figure it out and another century to make sure he was not making a horrible mistake.
He had forbidden anyone to reveal where it came from back then. Only he could make it as he had access to Celestial Qi. Even in the basic form back then, he found a way to use it in his elixirs.
Later, when he saw Celestials cultivate, he understood he had accidentally stumbled on the cause of his success. They experience the world around them to advance. They refine those experiences with their Qi into themselves to become stronger.
The Soul Balm Elixir actually tapped into the traces of Celestial still inside the Fiends. What they had taken caused a horrific imbalance, so his elixir offered a way to restore it. Had he not learned of that fact, he would never use the elixir on himself.
It was saved in case something like what happened to Shoti ever happened again.
He felt like the world was too damn bright to his eyes but after a few days, he finally got back to the dome. He could see the faint signs of the bloodline array trying to cover it again but now that he made the dome aware, it would not allow it.
He did wonder how it was done the first time but that question could wait till later. The sect wars could only be paused or slowed. They could never be stopped so long as a legitimate reason existed to fight.
He understood now that he knew the cause of the balanced war. He could not fight a bloodline array of that magnitude on his own. He would need allies and also time. Time the war would not give him.
"You are making my life harder, Master." He grumbled as he finally got to the surface of the dome. His badge was nearly pulling away from his robes but he just held it gently in his hand.
He then pressed it against the surface.
The dome rippled in delight and the world faded away to black.
He was floating in a void but he also felt all his pain melting away. His damaged soul was being mended at an accelerated rate. It was not the Ruin doing it, but his own body!
Pure and much more powerful Qi was all around him! His body and crystal drank it in like a man fresh from the desert at a resort getting water!
Time was unknown to him when light finally returned. He found himself on a golden stone path in the middle of a well manicured garden.
It stretched beyond his aura, well beyond it! He could not even perceive any end with either his aura or his physical senses! It was also a familiar feeling.
In Lord Skinwalker's Inheritance, the world had felt more solid but that was all he could grasp of it. Now, as an Immortal, he could feel more. Something beyond Laws.
It was powerful, terrifyingly powerful, but also just as ephemeral as Laws once were to him.
"Dao. It is made up of the literal Dao." Laws were myriad. The Law of Gravity was a shorthand many cultivators used but the reality was Laws were simply what one could grasp. Law of Attraction, Repulsion, Condense, and Expand were all part of the Dao of Gravity.
Some grasped almost all of them to some extent so saying one controlled the Law of Gravity was not wrong.
Lind was like that. His basic scientific knowledge allowed him to grasp Laws like candy at times. Once he fully explored one Law, others could fall like dominoes due to his previous knowledge leading him on.
Claiming he knew a Dao, however slight, was impossible. Even his harmony, something he suspected was growing into a full blown Dao, was a process he still struggled with. Just when he got a handle on it, he found the depths were far more than he could ever imagine.
It was no wonder 6 elementals struggled!
He still wondered about that little detail. Ethry proved that even beasts could have all 6 elements before becoming a Heaven Realm, but they did not get harmonies. Kexin was one of the first demons to confirm it was possible for them too.
Aether children had yet to produce one but Elementals were clearly of all elements yet neither had harmonies either.
His mind seemed on the cusp of grasping something critical but it slipped away as the short wall around him lit up.
Soft light flowed until a familiar figure appeared.
"That was unexpected." The square jaw with salt and pepper hair tied back by a leather tong brought back fond memories once again. His robes were much clearer as they shimmered with simple white but he felt like myriad colors were there.
The Divine Will was solid now compared to before.
Lind cupped his hands and bowed low.
"Student greets Master." A soft smile played on Younger Twin's face as he bowed back.
"Master welcomes student to his legacy trial. You are still far too weak but you have resolved the pesky reactions of this place. I can do nothing to stop it but I saw what happened out there. It is–difficult to resolve. That is not something that should exist on this layer of the Celestial Fields." Lind cocked his head to the side in confusion.
The bloodline array was vile but it could definitely exist as a Law Grade array. What did he mean?
"To put it bluntly, you saw a weakened section but once activated I was able to analyze it. It is Law Grade but as you know only low Law Grade can exist. It is peak Law Grade." His heart froze.
If he had faced it at peak power, he would have been sliced to ribbons!
"Did the Ruin weaken it?" Younger Twin nodded before motioning to follow him.
"You cannot concern yourself with that. For the moment, you have a greater challenge. You must tame the legacy. You will not be able to grasp it as this one was not meant for Immortals." Lind finally understood.
He could not take the trial but as an inheritor he could contain it.
"What exactly do you need from me?" Younger Twin frowned as he looked around.
"Difficult. If more of the trial was here we could simply imprint your badge and it would shift to a more appropriate realm. The Corruption cannot stop it anymore than it could stop a Divine Realm if they could descend." Lind felt like they could use that kind of help.
A swift swap to his head actually felt nostalgic!
"You do not ever want a Divine Realm to descend. The best case scenario at that moment is that the Celestial Fields are not destroyed! As it is, all cultivators below Sovereign Tier would die!" Lind looked confused once again.
"I faced a Divine Inheritance in a Mortal Realm?" Younger Twin sighed as if he had to explain something like addition to an adult that should really grasp it.
"An Inheritance is not the same as a Divine Realm. It exists outside the rules in so far as it can connect to any realm that meets its requirements while not violating the rules of Heaven and Earth." Lind looked a little panicked at that. His own Inheritance was looking for any 6 elemental or derivative production master that met his requirements!
"That is fine! Immortal Inheritances pose no danger, even one set so vaguely like that. Divine Inheritances need to be far more strict as you can guess why." Lind nodded solemnly. Delenn had told him how lower powers had skyrocketed to supreme just by getting lucky with a Divine Ruin.
It could be imagined what a full Divine Inheritance would do.
"Skinwalker was always odd, even by our standards. He was not interested in power unless it helped him advance his understanding of all life. Even the ancestral beasts could not understand him but his results could not be denied. The Dao of Life was grasped the most by him." Lind nodded in agreement.
"Master, may I ask a rather personal question?" The Divine Will looked at him and he knew all his secrets were laid bare.
"They are real. Not just creations of his mind, but the real women you met and saved. That is yet another reason our Inheritances are dangerous. Reality is much more flexible to us and can leave lower realm cultivators so flustered they never advance again. You did well to accept it as you did." Lind bowed in gratitude as they continued through the garden.
He saw herbs he knew well but clearly much older and higher quality than was possible even in his Frey Clan. He saw towering trees shelter the brush and smaller plants around them.
He then realized he could hear and smell beasts!
"What is this place, Master?" Younger Twin smiled wide.
"Your good fortune brought you to the best place that is still intact! My Garden Infinitium!" Lind then realized why he could not perceive an end to the place. There was none!
"Could I have gotten out on my own?" The Divine Will actually nodded!
"It is not an obstacle but a reward. Your badge was evaluated and reaching Law Grade as a Sliver Tier was unheard of! You really mastered it as a Shard Tier, again unheard of. I did really well!" Lind smirked at the boasting of his Master.
He had missed him.
They turned a corner and it was like he was looking at small worlds! Deserts with might condors or drakes were just across deep ocean beasts floating in an endless section of water! He narrowed his eyes as they seemed to walk off the edge of each enclosure before he realized what he was looking at.
"Inverted dimensions. This is just the bridge?" Younger Twin looked proudly at him.
"Why slaughter entire prides or clans when I can naturally harvest cores at all levels this way? I make sure the beast can advance with treasures from the garden portion and thus everything I need is here." Lind felt dizzy at the casual display of supreme power.
"What kind of power does this take?" Younger Twin looked at him seriously and tried to speak. The moment he did, Lind felt a splitting headache for a moment but that was all.
"You are too weak. Still, moving on!" Lind followed the Divine Will and wondered exactly how long it would take to leave an infinite garden.
