Chapter 1024 - 1023 - War, You do not Understand War!
Chapter 1024 - 1023 - War, You do not Understand War!
"Kill them all! The Ruin lies ahead!" A man with blood trailing down his face and limbs screamed as his compatriots. They were currently fighting a demonic clan and what seemed to be a beast tamer sect.
It was unsure who was winning but the Ruin dome was truly visible on the horizon.
They had found a path relatively free of anyone so they hoped to sneak to the Ruin at long last but that was just foolishness. Part of a path may have slipped noticed all that time but anything remotely close to the Ruin was locked down.
Streams of fire, lightning, and other attacks flew as wolves, giant cats, and other beasts tried to rip into foes. It was nearly mass confusion but everyone was just fighting to win! The prize was right there!
A bright glint drew the man's eye but before he could determine what it was, a flare of light came and then all the Qi in the world vanished!
Contracts between tamer and beast were shattered instantly. Every attack collapsed into nothing but the strangest part was how many robes disintegrated due to their inscriptions failing entirely!
How could inscriptions fail like that?!
The man felt his body become like lead and collapsed to the ravaged and bloodsoaked ground.
"No! I will not fail!" He tried to use his chipped sword like a cane but he could barely move.
"Quite enough of that. Time to sleep!" A voice suddenly spread but it was the last the man knew as an emerald light spread across the battlefield. He thought he saw a strange man standing in the trees but his skin was green! Why was it green?!

Lind finished healing the last unconscious person. They were currently neatly tied up with Law Grade chains. Their cultivations were sealed and he looked at the neat rows of sleeping forms.
"You all are taking this rather calmly." He glanced at the beasts currently playfully acting up. It was clear they had been raised together and were enjoying the peaceful moment. Since he healed and cared for everyone, they did not bother him.
His draconic aura had been blaring as well so they had not exactly been up to fighting him.
It was his fifth battle of the day and 50th overall. His tactic was devastatingly effective. No Qi meant no defenses against any action he took. So long as he used his harmony, he could enact any Art at his command.
The side effect of his attacks was also showing results as the air felt a lot better hence the beasts were feeling playful.
The immediate vicinity was so pleasant compared to what they were used to. It would not last but for the moment, he let them play.
His ring drew his attention and the special jade communication stone he made was vibrating. It took an immense amount of his harmonic Qi to get it to work even over a relatively short distance.
The side effect of his attacks actually made it reach farther!
[Lind, the forces are moving like you expected. They know the area around the Ruin has gone silent.] Delenn's voice was clear. He smiled as he looked up. She could not fly normally, but it did not stop him from building something that could do so for as long as harmonic Qi flowed through it.
It could not move much faster than a swallow, but it still got the job done as no one else could really fly at the moment.
It was better to think of it only as a floating platform at best.
From there, she could observe the moves in relative peace. Honestly, the loss of flight made them unimaginative. Birds and other beasts could fly but that was all they considered anymore.
The thought a cultivator could find a way to still fly seemed far too remote to them.
[How bad is it?] He did not seem concerned as if it was just the weather he was asking about.
[The majority are pulling out as there seems to be a coalition of 3 supreme powers heading for you. It includes the War Maiden at their head.] He narrowed his eyes at that.
"So, there really is a mastermind." Based on all he had gathered, if a single power pulled ahead, the response was only to quell that lead with other powers suppressing them, but now someone was coming right for him.
That required coordinated knowledge of his current whereabouts and he had incapacitated everyone equally. No one knew where he was by definition.
There were 2 weeks remaining on the Divine Will's deadline so he could only confirm there was a force no one had seen orchestrating the delicate balance of the war.
To so accurately pinpoint his current location would require the ability to monitor the battles. It would also explain why no one could gain any advantage. The current battlefield was a perfect example.
If one of the groups even had a handful of survivors, they could march on the Ruin and enter it. Yet, not a single power ever had. It made no sense.
The only logical conclusion he could reach was a hidden force and the confirmation of it only made him more certain he was on the right path.
It was time for him to drag them into the light.
"Hey, watch over these idiots and do not let them get hurt!" He spoke and the beasts snapped to attention. He dropped a few formation plates to be safe and tore through space. If he was going to draw out the true enemy, he was going to push them to the very edge.
The world shifted around him until a distorted space was in front of him. The dome was massive up close. The badge in his ring was reacting violently but he ignored it.
"Now, let's see if this makes you panic." The distortion was right in front of him so all he did was raise his hand to touch it. He was about to touch it when all his instincts screamed at him to stop. His eyes narrowed.
Nothing from his aura felt anything off but his dragon instincts were screaming at him that he was in danger.
"So, it really was not just the Fiends at work. This, however, should be impossible." The currently clear air around the Ruin was his work, not the barrier. Fiend Qi would react violently to the distortion barrier.
The only thing that could avoid his senses but not his dragon instincts was a bloodline barrier! It would have to be something that–
Rage exploded as understanding came to him. All those deaths! All the dead were used as fuel!
"How dare you?!" His voice exploded as emerald flames engulfed the air in front of him. A putrid dome flickered into life that was terrifying in power. It was at the peak of the Crystal Tier in strength!
It began to protrude spikes and move like it was alive as veins spread from the center into the forests around him.
His blood thundered as he transformed into his dragon body. His emerald eyes were like beacons of anger as they glowed with his power.
His crystal lit up with all 18 elements shining like suns.
"You call this play war, you do not know war!" His voice echoed across the sky as he blasted the new dome with the emerald flames of his dragon breath. The putrid dome attacked back!
It took the form of many blades striking at him but his scales could take it for the moment. He kept burning the dome as fast as it pulled on the greater bloodline array.
Over a million years of blood and death were used to make it. He would burn it all!
He noticed the figures closing in on the ground but he had no care for it. He would deal with them in time as they could not get close to the current battle.
Crimson spears lashed at him and he finally heard cracks as his scales were damaged. The power needed to do that was not just powerful but clearly beyond grade 7!
Law Grade!
There was a Maester behind that nightmare of a creation!
His blood began to flow off his sinuous body and one of his horns were shattered, yet he did not stop.
It was a scene out of hell as his flames scorched the earth in all directions and a blood dome attacked him without end. Trees were shattered and the cultivators approaching had to fall back.
The once flat land was ripped up and cratered as his body was slapped around, yet his flames never stopped even for a moment.
[BURN YOU BASTARD! BURN!] His voice screamed outward to every mind in range and the Heavens rumbled. He was not acting as a True Lord, just a divine dragon meting out justice!
His front left leg was cut off and the pain was burning in him but he refused to yield.
At long last, the traces into the forests began to thin out and the dome became thinner. He would have been more confident if he was not so woozy.
Even as a dragon, that amount of blood loss was too much! His body began to fall from the sky but his flames did not stop. They were getting weaker! It was a question of which gave out first, his flames or the dome!
Lind lost.
His vision went blurry as he slammed into the ground. The dome was weakened but enough remained to easily kill him. He slowly looked up to see a massive sword blade coming to slam into him.
Even as death closed in, he refused to bow.
[Even if I die, you will be pulled into the light!] He was about to tap into his very life force when a figure appeared in front of him. There were 2 warhammers in her hands as silvery light flared on them.
"You are the most stubborn student I have ever had! Did you forget about me?!" Delenn's body flared outward with the power of a Crystal Tier Immortal and shattered the blade with her hammers! She was a whirlwind of death!
The dome wanted to attack but it was much harder to strike her as Lind could still use his tail to deflect attacks. There was a massive cracking sound as the blood dome froze. It began to fall apart right in front of their eyes.
Delenn was exhausted but hardly hurt while Lind's body was riddled with horrifying wounds. Before he could collapse entirely, he summoned an elixir from his ring and downed it.
It tried its best to heal him, but all it could do was stop the bleeding. He was that badly injured!
"Seriously, where was the plan to draw out the true enemy in that?" She smirked up at him but he could only blink as he was that tired. He knew it was not over. Enemies were still coming.
