After a casual exchange with Zhang Lan, Gu Tiantian prepared to go upstairs.
Mrs. Chen quickly spoke up as she looked at the fruit platter.
"Miss Gu, would you like some fruit?"
She felt a bit stuffed from eating, having just begun to feel better; her stomach couldn’t take anything more.
"No, Mrs. Chen, I don’t want to end up in the hospital for eating too much again; that was truly embarrassing!"
Listening to this, Zhang Lan’s thoughts stirred.
"Tian Tian, when did you end up in the hospital? Are you alright now?"
Seeing Zhang Lan looking at her with concern, Gu Tiantian smiled slightly.
"That was a long time ago, I’m completely fine now."
Glancing at the fruit Mrs. Chen was holding, Gu Tiantian smiled gleefully at Zhang Lan.
"Even though fall is approaching, the midday heat is intense outside now. Mr. Zhang, why don’t you have some fruit to quench your thirst, then take a rest."
Before Zhang Lan could speak, Gu Tiantian quickly added.
"I won’t accompany Mr. Zhang; if you need anything, just ask Mrs. Chen."
She smiled at Mrs. Chen, and seeing her nod, Gu Tiantian turned around and walked towards the stairs, quickly heading up to the second floor.
Once in the second-floor bedroom, Gu Tiantian didn’t bother changing clothes, falling directly onto the soft, comfortable big bed.
She had gotten up a bit early, along with having trouble sleeping last night, making her feel incredibly drowsy now.
After a while, Gu Tiantian drifted off into a deep sleep.
She didn’t know how long had passed, but faintly heard chaotic noises.
In a daze, she slowly opened her eyes and listened carefully.
Noticing there was indeed commotion, though she didn’t want to deal with it, she realized it was quite late and it was the right time to get up. She quickly climbed out of bed.
Without caring to freshen up, she swiftly left the bedroom.
As soon as she stepped out, a beautiful maid approached.
"Miss Gu, something’s happened."
"Hm?"
Gu Tiantian was a bit surprised; how could something have happened out of the blue?
