Chapter 379: Gu Yunyun Pays a Visit

Gu Tiantian had no idea about Zhang Lan’s inner resentment, not to mention the kindling jealousy that was growing fiercely; after leaving the commercial street, she had Xiao Zhang drive her straight home.

Since Bai Chenyao was on a business trip, Gu Tiantian got bolder and didn’t stay at the villa but decided to stay at her own home.

The two-bedroom apartment was small, and because her uncle was also staying there recently, Gu Tiantian decided to sleep in the same room as Grandma Gu and let her uncle use her room.

Before dinner, there was a knock at the door.

Gu Tiantian was helping her uncle in the kitchen. He was making pork bone and seaweed soup, and she was looking in the cupboard for soup bowls.

As she came out with a small bowl, she saw an additional person in the living room.

"Tian Tian, put out another set of dishes, your sister Yunyun is here."

Gu Tiantian’s mouth twitched; just today, she and Gu Yunyun had a fallout, and now Gu Yunyun was already here.

"Alright, I’ll go get them."

Gu Yunyun was not glaring at Gu Tiantian like she did in the hospital.

In fact, as Gu Tiantian was about to turn and fetch the dishes, Gu Yunyun quickly stepped forward.

"No need, I’ll get them."

Gu Tiantian felt bewildered but didn’t step aside, instead looking at the approaching Gu Yunyun.

"Do you know where the dishes are in my house, Sister Yunyun?"

Gu Yunyun looked a bit embarrassed, glimpsing into the kitchen, her expression indifferent.

"The kitchen’s not that big; I can find them, can’t I?"

Gu Tiantian pursed her lips, speaking blandly.

"It’s okay, Sister Yunyun, since it’s rare for you to come by, you should sit down and wait for dinner."

Before Gu Yunyun could respond, Gu Tiantian turned back into the kitchen, quickly getting the dishes and utensils, noticing her uncle frowning while looking at Gu Yunyun standing outside the kitchen, with a flicker in his eyes.

"Yunyun, why are you here?"

Gu Qingfeng frowned, staring at his daughter.

A hint of shame and annoyance flashed through Gu Yunyun’s eyes, but as if remembering something, she quickly spoke.

"Dad, I just wanted to come and see Grandma."

At this, Gu Yunyun swiftly turned her head to look at Grandma Gu.

"Even though I haven’t grown up by Grandma’s side over the years, our blood ties can’t change, and I feel at ease visiting as she’s just out of the hospital."

Listening, Gu Tiantian laughed coldly in her heart.

If she really came to see Grandma, why wasn’t she here earlier, and only now?

But to avoid making things awkward for Grandma and her uncle, she pretended not to hear.

She set up the dishes and began scooping the rice.

Just as she picked up the rice ladle, Gu Yunyun quickly snatched it away.

"Tian Tian, let me do it."

Tut!

Watching Gu Yunyun busy with serving rice, Gu Tiantian looked at her as if she were an alien.

Did her brain get flooded?

Or was it slammed by a door?

Since they were young, Gu Tiantian remembered clearly that Gu Yunyun always called her by her full name, her voice extremely haughty, her gaze dismissive.

Yet just now, when she called out, there was a hint of guilt in her eyes.

Was it her eyesight, or was there really something wrong with Gu Yunyun?

"Alright, Tian Tian, since your sister Yunyun is helping, you sit down first."

It’s rare to see the cousins not pulling frosty faces upon seeing each other, and judging by the eldest granddaughter’s intentions, she seems willing to reconcile with Tian Tian.

If this is true, Grandma Gu would be utterly delighted.

After all, they’re like both back and palm of the hand—equally dear.

And over the years, she has always protected her youngest granddaughter, feeling pity for her having no parents, while feeling guilt towards her eldest granddaughter and grandson.
